Ewell Posted 3 March, 2010 Share Posted 3 March, 2010 I have a feeling about Spurs and Coventry in the arly 80's but cannot be sure! Coventry may have been the 8-2 win where Wallace and Moran both got hatricks!

Lets B Avenue Posted 3 March, 2010 Share Posted 3 March, 2010 Thought we had done it in 84 but there was a 1-1 away game between the 8-2 v Coventry and 5-0 v Spuds. How about Boxing Day 65 5-3 at Cardiff followed by 5-1 home to Bolton on New Years Day. :smt041

Master Bates Posted 3 March, 2010 Share Posted 3 March, 2010 Apart from the last two games. I'm guessing results on Fifa 2010 don't count, so with that I must depart and continue my charge to the top of the Championship and get back to the Prem. I am the Alan Pardew of DS Fifa 2010. Deano6 Posted 3 March, 2010 Share Posted 3 March, 2010 Not sure if it's been mentioned on here yet, but I went back through the history books and found it happened in 2010, a 5-1 and then a 5-0.
david in sweden Posted 3 March, 2010 Share Posted 3 March, 2010 (edited) Not sure if this has been asked yet but I'd love to know. well YES ! in the now legendary 1963-64 season Saints scored ... 100 league goals:smt041..and 20 came in the last 4 games in early April. 70 of those were at home and we finished that season in tremendous form. Cardiff (A) 4-2 Bury (A) 5-1 Swindon (H) 5-1 we couldn't believe it when we started our last game at The Dell on 94, but finally beat Rotherham (H) 6-1 Those were the days ! But it also happened two years later , the promotion season 65-66. Cardiff (A) 5-3.. followed by Bolton (H) 5-1.... and a month later (with great satisfaction ) Portsmouth (A) 5-2 Edited 3 March, 2010 by david in sweden

david in sweden Posted 3 March, 2010 Share Posted 3 March, 2010 and if you want to go back further than that ..our promotion season 50 years ago 1959-60 . We beat Mansfield (H) 5-2 followed by 6-3 v.Shrewsbury (H) just 4 days later. (that season we scored 106 goals, and won the Div.3 South title)
StuRomseySaint Posted 3 March, 2010 Share Posted 3 March, 2010 I remember two 4-1 games on the bounce, I think... QPR and Liverpool? About 87?

Stud mark of doom Posted 3 March, 2010 Share Posted 3 March, 2010 I remember two 4-1 games on the bounce, I think... QPR and Liverpool? About 87? Went to both those games and thought about it on the way home last night. I was trying to think of the last time a Saints team, all 11 players, had played so fantastically two games running. Jason Dodd's first two games I think, and possibly Benali's first run in the side?
Sheaf Saint Posted 3 March, 2010 Share Posted 3 March, 2010 It's never really been Saints' strong suit, whichever era one looks at. Didn't we go on a lengthy run of games without conceding under Hoddle?
Arizona Posted 3 March, 2010 Share Posted 3 March, 2010 We have also scored 10 goals since we last conceded. Anyone know what our record is in that regard?
