Saint_clark Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 Nope, sorry. Replied in the other thread as well, but if you delete a couple of numbers in the URL and replace them with something else - or indeed just leave them deleted - then exactly the same page comes up. Much like on the old OS, you could type the URL in such a way that it would come up with a blank player profile, which led to many a theory that a signing was about to be announced. SaintNeil90 Posted 14 June, 2010 Author Share Posted 14 June, 2010 Just been told by saint_clark 'It does that with all generic article pages. If you alter the number in the URL at the top, it will come up with exactly the same thing.' May as well lock the thread

StuRomseySaint Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 All news from now on will be released around 11:15 because the Echo goes to print at 11:00pm and it stops them being able to print a story the next day. Seriously, what the f*ck has happened to our club. :-(
SaintNeil90 Posted 14 June, 2010 Author Share Posted 14 June, 2010 I got this link from someone on the away kit thread who said it had info on the new away kit (release within next 2 weeks). However the title suggests it may have been the article from friday night before the kit launch, which has now been removed, leaving the url number free. StuRomseySaint Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 Nothing on the Twitter feed, which is normally what happens first. PS StuRomseySaint STFU. Are you suggesting that the reason for the news releases from SFC at 11:15 pm and the fact the Echo go to print at 11pm are just a coincidence? Serious question. St Landrew Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 Are you suggesting that the reason for the news releases from SFC at 11:15 pm and the fact the Echo go to print at 11pm are just a coincidence? Serious question. No Stu. People are acknowledging the fact that the Saints announcements are at 11.15pm and the Daily Echo goes to print at 11.00pm. What they are also saying, is that they don't give a toss. The Echo could always delay their printing schedule.

Thedelldays Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 the club could announce news at say..7am.. then again, that would STILL be too late for the previous days print..? however, is there a time limit on when stories can be posted online..? SaintNeil90 Posted 14 June, 2010 Author Share Posted 14 June, 2010 I do. Just look at the OS? If I just read the Echo for my news then I would think Dickson was a Southampton player when he clearly isnt yet.
SaintNeil90 Posted 14 June, 2010 Author Share Posted 14 June, 2010 They used to do an afternoon/evening edition of the Echo anyway so surely any late night or early morning OS article could be in the Echo then.

If I just read the Echo for my news then I would think Dickson was a Southampton player when he clearly isnt yet. I don't give a sh*t about the Echo. What I care about is that the OS are releasing news late at night so that the Echo can't publish it that concerns me. AussieDog Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 the Echo have been trying to shaft the club for years....I would personally prefer to see breaking news on the club website first anyway.

StuRomseySaint Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 They aren't exactly positive towards Saints They are balanced and unbiased in their reporting... exactly how they should be... that doesn't constitute " shafting the club" They are the local newspaper, not SFC's marketing and PR department. Quite ironic that the person who claims the Echo are shafting the club lives on the other side of the world... LOL This is getting boring now. Saint_clark Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 Stu, even you must admit that they are NOT unbiased in their reporting. In the article where Cortese stated that Pardew would not be sacked, they ignored the whole thing and instead ran with a story about how he "lashed out" at club legends, when in fact he was responding to quotes from articles in - surprise surprise - the Daily Echo. Matthew Le God Posted 14 June, 2010 Share Posted 14 June, 2010 Look I have been told all sorts of stuff about Cortese recently which is really concerning. I'll get laughed at and dismissed by many on here but for people who do want to listen I would urge them to be cautious with our CEO. Anyone would think you were a hypochondriac. suewhistle Posted 15 June, 2010 Share Posted 15 June, 2010 So the OS article is dated Tuesday: they get first dibs as is only fair. But don't The Echo have an afternoon edition any more; it always used to be an afternoon/evening paper? What are The Echo doing trying to compete with the dailies? A storm in an egg-cup.
