The club is tweeting the very latest news on it's Official Twitter. Follow Saints @OfficialSite By following you are assured of the very latest news from the club on your PC or mobile phone.

@officialsaints is the SFC Twitter feed, which has been running for ages.

Ain't that amazing. I've posted three Twitter related threads in the last 6 months and no one ever mentioned the official twitter. I'm even certain Steve you replied on two of the threads. Does nobody communicate Saints related information anymore?

Certainly not the club.

Touché

ART, the Saints feed's been running since July, pretty sure it's been mentioned a number of times in the past :)

I've just done a Twitter "Whois" search and amazingly the account was started in June 2009, so during Aministration. Being a regular Twitter user I've asked several times if there was anyone on here used Twitter or knew of any Saints related users, the club, management or players.

The feed seems to Tweet all official news at the same time as the official website so useful for those following on Twitter. Wondering if Match Day chat on Twitter might be a possibility but probably Facebook Chat would be faster when it gets busy.

I find Facebook chat to be really unreliable (and it was particularly bad in Firefox). @officialsaints does basic updates from the games, as does @SaintsWeb of course ;) and there are always loads of people posting in on the #saintsfc hashtag during games as well.

What's a hashtag?

Be gentle with me - I've only just registered on Twitter for the first time today.....

I couldn't work out how to 'follow' @officialsaints via my iPhone Twitter app (although I could do a search and look at what was being posted, both by the 'owner' of @officialsaints and the comments of those 'following'), so I logged on from my PC browser instead and was able to click on 'follow' @officialsaints from there. But, oddly, I could only see posts from @officialsaints on the website via my PC (i.e. I couldn't see the posts from everyone following, like I can on my iPhone).

Give me a quill, ink and parchment paper any day!

A hashtag is basically a "topic", which you can search for quickly to find related Tweets. For Saints-related stuff, type #saintsfc somewhere within your Tweet and anyone looking for that topic will find it.

Ah, cushty - cheers.

Another quick question if I may....does one have to register a hashtag so that it is unique or does it just 'work' through word of mouth and regular usage?

Cheers
