Griffo Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 Everyone get to MK and have a 90 minute song for Marcus Liebherr. Just like Norwich away for Alan Ball.
forever a red and white Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 a good sentiment but perhaps better suited for a home game where we can have a proper tribute, perhaps with nice banner flag to show the message. He deserves it after what hes done for the club

Sour Mash Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 Got to sell out MK Dons and Orient at home as a minimum. Give him a proper send off in thanks of all he has done for our club. If 50k+ can be bothered to turn up at Wembley on the back of ML's intervention, then I think its the least we can do.
Joesaint Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 Every game of the season for Marcus, every single game we need to sing his name.
Saints foreva Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 I wouldn't be surprised if the club attempt to get the MK Dons game postponed, this will have no doubt shocked everyone at the club. As for Leyton Orient - A sale out and a fantastic performance from us fans is a must. DO IT FOR LIEBHERR!
B Rabbit Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 The only way to send him off properly is to WIN this league and continue from there. Sell out next home game would be appropriate too. More permanent memorial....Stand? Statue? Suite? Not sure myself...Has had a huge impact, massive..haven't felt a buzz around the city or stadium for many years...but his tenure was very short so is it appropriate or not? Vershinin Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 Orient has got to sell out. I think a stand and a statue are appropriate memorials. ONE MARKUS LIEBHERR
sotonianproud Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 Should leave it to a home game and hopefully sell out one to! Any fan of southampton should be going down to the ticket office and buying a seat for the orient game, its only fitting! RIP MARCUS!!

Griffo Posted 11 August, 2010 Author Share Posted 11 August, 2010 I know Orient will be the main one but for the first game since his passing it would be brilliant to have a large support at MK.

Should we even play? Is it going to effect the players at all? I say we play and dedicate our win to Markus but should we show some respect and skip the fixture? It is going to affect the players a lot, the mood in the dressing room will be a depressing one. I'm not sure they will. With Adam Stansfield at Exeter, the players knew him, the coaches and management worked with him every day. The players and management didn't know Markus like that, they may have met him once or twice but he wasn't part of their team every day. I think Markus would like us to get on and play the game, win it for him and kick start this season for him. I think that's the best option. RobM Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 The Orient game is the right time and place for a serious tribute and another 'Alan Ball' moment, where all fans who are lucky enough to get tickets will be able to pay their respects, sing his name and celebrate all he has done for us. It's the home of our club, his club and it's the right place to pay our respect. The MK Dons game shouldn't be ignored though and his name should be sung. I'd change the name of one of the stands, they are only street/landmark names FFS and TBH mean very little to me. Change Northam to Liebherr stand or Marcus stand and get the away to move, make a proper Kop.
