sambosa75 Posted 18 October, 2010 Share Posted 18 October, 2010 And just like us, if they carry on playing like they have recently, they too can be gracing League 1 with a shiny new stadium to impress Rochdale and Oldham fans with!

Whitey Grandad Posted 18 October, 2010 Share Posted 18 October, 2010 Fromm the Mail today: Apparently on the statue of John Lennon at Liverpool Airport it says 'above us only sky'. Underneath someone has written 'below us only West Ham'
Stud mark of doom Posted 18 October, 2010 Share Posted 18 October, 2010 Funny enough I was in Boston just after we moved from the Dell (and just before this bloke took over the Red Sox) and when I visited the stadium I remember thinking it had a lot in common with The Dell (although on a U.S. Scale obviously). Interesting that he managed to make a tiny stadium work and even deliver a league title for the first time in 70 odd years, whereas we got a shiny new stadium and League 1, and now he's apparently looking at us for inspiration! ericb Posted 18 October, 2010 Share Posted 18 October, 2010 Bloody right, how dare overseas investors buy English football clubs, send all the Johnny Foreigners back where they belong. Aaah, hang on a minute... To be fair to Richmond, and not missing the irony of this, foreign owners have probably done more damage than good to the english game. They've encouraged it to become a billionaires playground and many miss the most important thing for a football club, to be a link to the city and community they're from. As much as someone like our modern day MCcArthy [ aka Dune] might shout commie, it would be a lot better for the game if all clubs didn't have sole owners and were instead property of the city they're in. Would certainly level the playing field, add a bit more passion and make football more interesting as a whole.

Fenway Park, lovely little ground very much The Dell of MLB. I was there when the Red Sox played the Yankees but lost out before the Yankees went on to the World Series. Great atmosphere wish I was there the years that they did progress and win. Also went on a tour around it, the red Sox fans will never let them move and it would be a shame if they ever did. Great pubs, bars, restaruants and clubs around the ground aswell.
