View from the top you were wrong. I cancelled my trip after your comments but my four year old daughter had already told everyone she was going. My trip today was every bit as enjoyable as any game I have been to - it was just very emotional for me. The kit and the Name on the back was a bit pricey though. So happy I did it.

So we have another newly baptised Saint! Welcome aboard little 'un.

I took my middle son at the age of 5. He did fall asleep for 30mins of the first half, but he thoroughly enjoyed the game. He is quite sensitive to very loud noise, so we sat in the Chapel.

Oddly enough I noticed a young girl, maybe 4 or 5, in the Chapel with red coloured industrial ear defenders on!

Glad she and you both enjoyed it. My nipper, now 9 has the bug bad!

I'd never consider (skates away apart) of going to a game without him now.

Glad you both enjoyed it.

Yesterday at full time when the players left the pitch I looked down to see my 4 year old son crying. I asked him what was wrong... He said "I miss Kelvin Davis!"... Made me chuckle...I told him we will see him at the next match. Now He can't wait until the Walsall game to see his hero.

Just got tickets for Walsall for my 5 yr old,his first game.

Picked him up a hat and scarf also.

£15 for the nippers full home kit was quite a good deal also.

Really can't wait, hopefully it will be a promotion party and the atmosphere will add to his enjoyment.

My dad going as always also,so 3 generations in attendance.

I took my lad last season to his first game (age 6) and he enjoyed it but he's a Manchester born and bred lad and the pressures on him following the red devils is going to be a tough battle as his mum and her family are all massive Utd fans. I've not given up the fight just yet as I want him to decide... however... I'm a massive believer in supporting your home-town club... always have been...

I first took my youngest to a game over 4 years ago, he was only 3 and a half, spent the whole game prefering to get up and go to the toilet!!ha... took him to a handful of games before he got out of that habit and really got into the football side of it. He is now 8 and loves the entire outing each and every time. We took his brother along for the first time when we beat Huddersfield this season, he was 5 and enjoyed it, although taken aback by the atmosphere. I would say anything over 3 is a good age to get them into it!!! Once they get over the shock and overwhelming of the first game they tend to settle in and enjoy it!!!!!

No children under the age of sixteen should be admitted. They take up seats that could properly be sold, or given as complimentaries, to us 'numpties' who don't even know what colours Saints play in , or their super-thick dolly-birds, who think the match ball should be oval.

Before the ensuing uproar, I admit to jesting, I think,.

Seriously, I would consider 5-6 to be an ideal introduction age, after that age it becomes more difficult to un-lock the Manure, (and other), influences. If your child shows signs of an abnormal interest in flat fish, I should seek medical advice, ASP.

I was prepared for my nipper to support Stoke or Wolves as we live 1/2 way between the two. I put no pressure on him to follow Saints as they are my home town team and not his but seeing me go week in week out meant he wanted to come along. The rest is history and at 9 he's totally hooked, had a season ticket for the last 2 years and considers going away to place like Carlisle as normal!
