The location of the printing company that does the matchday programme really isn't very high on my list of things to care about.

In any case its probably cheap labour down there, what with them being used to getting ripped off by the skates.

so it doesn't bother you that it's been taken away from a southampton company?

Not really, thats life. It bothers me that Southampton FC are producing the best quality product in the most cost effective way. That applies to everything from players to programmes.

Well, I don't care on way or another - and by the way, we knew this a couple of weeks ago.

Maybe it's another Cortese ploy to try and force people to buy things in the way he wants - in this case online programmes.

Yeah, ok, maybe it's not... :)

I've seen this posted on Twitter as well. To be honest, I couldn't give a monkeys. If this firm does it cheaper than Cedar, then it's more profit for the club to invest in players and infrastructure.

It's a non story for me. Local rivalry is one thing and I do understand it, being from Southampton and living in Cardiff, but I wouldn't avoid going to the Gower because I have to go through Swansea to get there.

but the cedar group have been printing it for over 15 years :(

How competitive was their bid for the contract this time around?

Being a well run company, as I'm sure they are, they'll be fully aware and appreciative of the competitive nature of the market place within which they operate. No doubt they've had the boot on the other foot when they've won contracts ahead of established firms in other bids.

Business is about hard nosed negotiation not emotive ties.

Depends if they got fully paid for the debts of the previous regime though ,if it wasn't the case and they'd remained loyal to the club in despite of it you'd have to think that this was a bit of a poor show even if the new regime owes nothing to the suppliers of the old regime.

Shut up!

Times are hard. Everybody is looking to save money wherever possible. Just be grateful it's still going to a company in the UK and isn't being produced in the far east like most things that are sold in the UK.

I do wish people would put all their effort into supporting Saints rather than wasting energy worrying about bloody P*rtsmouth!

Having had dealings with Cedar do you think they bother where they buy from? They always use local companies(of course not)! They buy from any competitive source.

There you go. They are a shrewd business just like any other.
