Gemmel Posted 5 January, 2009 Share Posted 5 January, 2009 At least the national media have found out Is it me or are we starting to see a steady stream of coverage, highlighting our plight with references to lowe being responsible? Almost as if someone was orchastrating it. Much like Lowe did before, just the other way round. I'm sure rupes will contact his mates and have a page on how great he is fairly shortly. Channon's Sideburns Posted 5 January, 2009 Share Posted 5 January, 2009 didn't hear any sack the board chants yesterday -were there any? I think Nick it was because everyone wanted to support the team and give the best chance possible. Don't worry there will be a truck load of abuse along shortly - I just hope it's delivered in the most public, professional way so that the sycophantic Lowe Fringe can't dress it up as being a minority yobbish shout. eelpie Posted 5 January, 2009 Share Posted 5 January, 2009 Yes I agree but please tell me what Lowe's replacement is going to do without the club going into administration? Whoever replaces Lowe - as someone must eventually - the situation regarding administration will be the same. Lowe does not have sole authority to determine the future of our club. He is in fact only a minority shareholder. He has alienated his paying customers, and his removal will be the first step to rebuilding relations between the club and the many supporters who are boycotting St Mary's. Secondly, whoever is the manager will be able to play the best team available on our books. For example, how we could have done with Saga, Dyer and John on the pitch on Saturday, and how we need them during the coming relegation battle. With that talent on the pitch, see how gates will improve, and how hope will be rekindled. Secondly, targeted team building could begin. It has been so clear that our weaknesses in defence and attack (combined with naaive tactics) could be addressed without the malign interference from Lowe insisting we only sign inexperienced (and injured) players from reserve teams. What deadweight we are carrying. Our youngsters need positive support on the pitch and from the top where it matters. So my first response to your fair query is that our gate revenue will improve. The absentee fans are a wasted asset we cannot ignore. Saints fans when the chips are down are very supportive, and where there is hope, anything can happen. My goodness, we certainly need it. WE don't need the prince of darkness leading us to our doom.

I sit halfway between Directors and Northam so if there was any don't think he would have heard it! didn't expect much complaint yesterday with the crowd there to see Man U, was expecting some at Reading but the support was pretty good. Surpised with the crowds patience this season with the lack of wins.

West End Saint Posted 5 January, 2009 Share Posted 5 January, 2009 You have to say they have it about right pretty passing but cant put the ball in the net should add to that we cant defend either when we conceed a corner it is almost like giving away a pen. The sad thing is that with a decent manager and 2 or 3 decent experienced pro's we could get away playing a lot of the kids some of them will go on to be good players but playing tippy tappy football with no spine and strength is killing the lads. Weston Saint Posted 5 January, 2009 Share Posted 5 January, 2009 Unusually pessimistic for you, R... Quite honestly G... I have lost all faith in JP and his way of playing. I was prepared to give it a go and certainly early on the way we played looked good even though we were getting beat too regularly. I took the view that as the team gelled we would improve. However it has not happened and I am now convinced our style is not for the Championship. I cannot see any investment on the horizon. When I look at Lowe, Wilde and Crouch positives and negatives none are suited but they are all that is on offer. To change the way we play we need a three or four good experienced pro's with at least 1of them up front and a new Manager/Coach. We also need to take at least 7 points out of the next three games although I think we will need all 9. Without the personnel and results in January we will get relegated. The problem is the present team and tactics will see us struggle in League 1 as well. Yep, I am very pessimistic about our future but a few wins might lift my spirits. I have been happy to give JP and RL time, but it has now run out. The team and showing signs of collapsig confidence and we desperately need someone to score goals. Whilst the defense is a worry, I'm more concerned about the other end. Score goals and pout pressure on the opposition and you're bound to give your own defenders something to defend and that little extra time to become organised. We will def need lots of goals this next half if we are to avoid relgation. A goalscorer will also lift the crowd and players (except the one dropped!). The trouble is, who will come and can they make an immediate impact? On RL he should go NOW, even if to be replaced by A Cowan. On JP...give him a striker or the p45- we must act this week! Our starting right-back for one was out in Bedford Place on Saturday night... and then out AGAIN last night after the game. After the game, fine. But it is completely out of order that any member of the team is allowed to frequent bars before a match. GWS used to tour the watering holes seeking out miscreants. And they would hear it if caught out.

Weston, you've hit the nail on the head. I was also prepared to support JP - but has become obvious that there has been no improvement in the team for a couple of months, and yesterdays lack of fight was the final straw for me. I know JP hasn't been helped by losing Cork & Pearce (the mis-management around allowing Cork's loan to expire without any visible attempt to extend it has been terrible, but not JP's fault) but there has been no consistancy in his team selection other than KD & DMG. So for most clubs it would be time for a change but, of course, Lowe is unlikely to make the change as it would be admitting a mistake. Given this, I really fear that after these next 3 games we will be bottom of the table and out of the transfer window with no opportunity to do anything about it. L1 beckons.... Fan The Flames Posted 5 January, 2009 Share Posted 5 January, 2009 That piece could have been written by many on here, sums it up completly for me. I've enjoyed the media coverage over the last few days, it makes me pine for the premiership days. If this is the start of some positive anti-lowe coverage then the Man Utd game could possible be the most important game of our season. It will be such a shame if Lowe takes us down a season before we reach our 50th year, thats half a century folks, in the top two divisions. Think about it and you start to see how far we have fallen and yet there are still people on here who think its everybody elses fault but Lowes and there are still people on here who think only Lowe can save us. This article says is all, ****in hell I'm so sadden and angry by the whole situation.
Amesbury Saint Posted 5 January, 2009 Share Posted 5 January, 2009 Too late in my opinion. We must act now but I accept your point. It just adds to my despair yes we must act but we are just a group of fans with no leader. Someone with credability, history and media skills must stand up. Without a leader we are just lost and fragmented in direction. Our leader must also be the front man for the money people. No leader = no change. So come on MLT plant the flag, issue the rallying call, get on board the money people and us fans will follow. So Leon and others call MLT, pledge your money to his campaign.
