Alain Perrin Posted 12 January, 2009 Share Posted 12 January, 2009 See threads on Crouch, Kenwyne and many others to see how 'we' can be proved wrong. No doubt McGoldrick has potential, he's still young and has a lot to learn. For our sake and his I hope he does well.
stardustonmyfeet Posted 12 January, 2009 Share Posted 12 January, 2009 We might laugh now, but this will probably double his transfer fee for when we finally flog him off. Did Lowe's PR company write this article? Good work if so.

SuperMikey Posted 12 January, 2009 Share Posted 12 January, 2009 Robert Flecks nephew is in the top 10.... Aye, John Fleck is going to be a great footballer in a few years time. Fantastic potential, brilliant technique and skill. Watch this space! Actually, we could loan him if he's not playing at Rangers....Woopert, you get that? VectisSaint Posted 12 January, 2009 Share Posted 12 January, 2009 http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/european_football/article5502827.ece?token=null&offset=12&page=2 Can't say I've heard of many of the others (Wilshere and a few others but not many). Seems like a list plucked out of the air of "players no-one has heard of so might be OK". Clearly whoever compiled the list has never seen McG play, or they would not mention his all round ability. Sfc90 Posted 12 January, 2009 Share Posted 12 January, 2009 Dan Gosling from everton looks like a great player from what i've seen. Same goes for young Wilshere at Arsenal, 17 the other day i believe. TBH though the guy who has written this obviously has no clue if he's putting players in there aged around 23 and hasn't even got Messi or Bojan in there? Saint_clark Posted 12 January, 2009 Share Posted 12 January, 2009 To be honest when he puts effort in I can see the potential there. He's very strong, good running at defenders, and (as the stats prove) not afraid to shoot. Finishing ability will come with experience, and when he has a manager who motivates him properly (as Prost did) then I think he will start putting effort in regularly. Bailey Posted 13 January, 2009 Share Posted 13 January, 2009 McGoldrick has potential, whether or not he'll reach that and go on to bigger and better things remains to be seen. I remember criticising Kenwyne heavily at one point, saying how lazy and half arsed he can be. Sound familiar?

Saint_clark Posted 13 January, 2009 Share Posted 13 January, 2009 However, after actually paying attention to the article, saying he's amongst the 50 most talented youngsters in Europe is absurd. He has potential to be a mid-table Prem striker at the most.

Andy_Porter Posted 13 January, 2009 Share Posted 13 January, 2009 That's a stupid list, usually marcotti is spot on with such lists and well he's one of the better pundits but that list is a joke. Anyone who has watched Saints this season will tell you that Schneiderlin is far more of a prospect than McGoldrick, i'm not saying Schneiderlin should on there either just how stupid it is to include McGoldrick. In your Opinion but not in the Opinion of the person who wrote it. Mind you I agree with you but I do think McGoldrick is a good prospect . He did score loads of goals for the Reserves when they were clearly a good team maybe McGoldrick would score a lot for a better team say Reading.
