Legod Third Coming Posted 18 January, 2009 Share Posted 18 January, 2009 Our club must be rid of the current board. Only ONE MAN alive can unite Southampton fans. HE must come forward and do the bravest thing he has ever done. As brave as standing in the middle of our little ground and lobbing the keeper from 45 yards, braver even. Do the thing he was born to do. Lead. HE knows that around him EVERY fair-minded fan will rally to his call. Matthew, YOU must stand up now and be heard. Talk to us. Use your influence with the media and your friends to call for CHANGE. Call for a boycott, call for new investors, call for ACTION. Apathy will kill this club. Only YOU can start the Change this club now needs. It might be enough for the shareholders to unite and do what is RIGHT for the club not their egos or petty self-interests. If it is not, it will at least drawn ATTENTION to our plight, to UNITE us in a cause and be the CATALYST for Change.
Katalinic Posted 18 January, 2009 Share Posted 18 January, 2009 I agree, MLT is the only person capable of truly uniting the fanbase.

Amesbury Saint Posted 18 January, 2009 Share Posted 18 January, 2009 Agreed We need a leader to rally behind and unite the fans. Please can someone ring MLT up. For the people who have the money, its also now to stand up and be counted. For those who have the shares - time to sell them to MLT's consortium or proxy them to it. For Lowe - please pack you bags! Legod Third Coming Posted 18 January, 2009 Author Share Posted 18 January, 2009 Matt can lead a consortium. Just be the front. Call for unity. Shareholders must listen. The man was and is the heartbeat of this club.
ladysaint Posted 18 January, 2009 Share Posted 18 January, 2009 The Saints Trust should be organising something, maybe get a few ex players i.e. MLT, Mark Dennis, David Armstrong, Franny etc together to unite the fans, once the fans are united then we could move forward at the moment we are too fragmented. That is the most logical and sensible post I have seen regarding what action we can now take. Come on Saints Trust......your club needs you to organise something - show your colours, show that Rich Chorley is not the only man in Southampton who at least tries to organise a rally etc.....perhaps the ST will not get the abuse he does. forever a red and white Posted 18 January, 2009 Share Posted 18 January, 2009 for the saints trust to achieve anything, we would also need serious fianance as well as share votes. But more importantly people who are qualified and experienced in running a football club, and those that were successful at it.

Dont want them to run the club, just want them to organise a rally with speakers such as MLT, Mark Dennis, David Armstrong.....people who have the respect of the supporters and can try to unite the fan base. Surely the Trust has a duty to unite the supporters of the football club, the very people they are representing ?
Legod Third Coming Posted 18 January, 2009 Author Share Posted 18 January, 2009 for the saints trust to achieve anything, we would also need serious fianance as well as share votes. But more importantly people who are qualified and experienced in running a football club, and those that were successful at it. For now what we need is a spokesperson. Someone with respect who can call the shareholders to account and around whom the FANS - those with and without financial clout - can rally. That is what we need, someone to LEAD the fans, to UNITE them in support of the club. Someone who can act as a CATALYST for change. If the Trust wants to approach MLT, great. But SOMEONE has to UNITE us otherwise we just bumble along moaning and groaning. Well the time for TALK is OVER. It is now TIME FOR ACTION. Rebel Posted 18 January, 2009 Share Posted 18 January, 2009 The Trust should organize an open meeting and invite people like Fulthorpe and Le Tiss to speak Only problem is Chorley, MacMillan and co will hijack the meeting, destroy any unity and scars off any sand investors or potential saviours Over the last 4 years those two and there cronies have done far more harm than good and a lot more than even they realise Little corporal syndrome I think it's called! Rebel Posted 18 January, 2009 Share Posted 18 January, 2009 what has changed? The apathy of Saints fans at large ensured th Trust failed last time - along with the personal jealousy, egomania and vitriol of certain people who didn't get involved from the start but wanted to destroy it or take it over

Rebel Posted 18 January, 2009 Share Posted 18 January, 2009 they are also certain people who post on here who sat on the Saints Trust committee - and who call for action now - who always turned up to meet the Chairman and directors of SFC but strangely were always busy somewhere else when there was actual work to be done Funnily these same people always took ownership of actions or areas but never the responsibility and failed to deliver time after time
La BoIS Saint Posted 18 January, 2009 Share Posted 18 January, 2009 Isn't his contract up in the summer though? I think so, we were talking about it yesterday. Assume we can't afford to renew it. If we are only going to get something like £200k we would be better keeping him and letting it run out.

Mole Posted 18 January, 2009 Share Posted 18 January, 2009 Yeah, let's get the trust to sort it out. Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but in this case you are correct. The Trust is dead. SISA is too marginalised. All we have is ourselves but don't underestimate Saints fans. We may be slow to react but when we do woe betide those on the receiving end. derry Posted 18 January, 2009 Share Posted 18 January, 2009 The trust through it's inactivity, silence, minority membership is a tainted organisation. It needs something fresh without any of the people and politics involved in the trust. The small shareholders, if they feel that way, need to combine in an association to represent the 55%ish shares that are not owned by the Lowe/Wilde axis. High profile figures need to be involved, MLT, LM, no politicians, Crouch/Corbett who own 16%ish of the shares, Salz, Fulthorpe, Trant, whoever. Just not the trust, it has no appeal to the average fan who view it as a discredited busted flush.
