Recent run of form

It seems that after Koeman left we have had to endure a pretty awful run of home form with the enduring sound as I leave the stadium is of away fans celebrating a late goal to deny us points or a win.

Could anyone spare the time to work out our home record since we last had a team worth watching at home and the desperately poor results since that walloping at Villa Park last season.

So since the end of the 2016-2017 season (finished 8th on 46 points) this is our home record in the PL;

Played 103

Won 30

Drew 31

Lost 42

Scored 138

Conceded 155

The second half of the Puel season was pretty bad at home too. What a colossal waste of money those season tickets have been.

Only one season with a positive goal difference 😵.

And we sacked that mananger to bring in Jones... When all that was really needed was a proper striker in the summer.... And jones' previous side have improved since he left 🤣

I made the decision to not renew my season ticket after Puel's final home game. I didn't realise then quite what a good decision it would be. But puel was a terrible mananger and I couldn't bring myself to pay that money to watch that shite for another season... Although in fairness, puel is probably a better than Jones...

i’m thinking of not renewing my ST next year, I normally even found a lot of the terrible home games to still be quite fun …up until this season

I just checked back on the home league tables per season from here: https://www.soccerstats.com/homeaway.asp?league=england

Most of the time we've found ourselves in the bottom 4 for home form with the exception of the season without fans.

What makes it worse is our home form under Koeman's two seasons reads

P38 W22 D7 L9 GF76 GA35 GD: +41 PTS: 73

It's no wonder the atmosphere is toxic inside the stadium these days with the utter shite being served up by the club on the pitch as well as off it.

It's truly inept, talk about back to earth with a bump. We had years of beating records, high finishes, unbeaten at home runs etc (through L1/Champ/PL), and overnight we turned into one of the worst home teams we've ever been.

Never a middle ground supporting us. We're either amazing or downright turgid.

You couldn’t have been around when Branfoot was getting slagged off at The Dell or when Lowe was getting grief when we were in the championship then of you think it’s toxic now .

The crowed boo players at half time / full time or both sonetimes it’s hardly toxic for 90 mins .

Nathan Jones' replacements always do better than him:  Mick Harford did at Luton, Michael O'Neill did at Stoke and now Rob Edwards is at Luton. At least, we've got that to look forward to.

I went to the game yesterday. Great support by the way. Must of been over 2k there and it was pissing down. I know people were gutted with the result as I was I. However, there were green shoots there. It was so much better than Brighton. We were pressing a lot more. The tackling was the most aggressive it’s been since Ralph early days.

There were pockets of better actual football going forward. It was the best I have seen Moi play ( I know, I know ). Adozie (sic) gets better every game and we were the better team for an hour of the game.

on the flip side I have no idea what’s happened to Aribo and the keeper does look shaky.

I copped some stick in the week for sticking up for the manager but surely people can see from the form table that he has a huge job on his hands. He may well be the wrong man for the job but he needs some patience. He is changing the team a lot because he is giving players a chance to show him what they can or can’t do.

his style of play will be similar to Brentford I would guess and we are in transition

He could be a crap appointment and we may go down but let’s give it all a chance.

anyway, I’m ready for the pelters !
