I have never forgot this goalkeeping performance, worst in my memory watching Saints 2 - 6 Spurs

Also this one ....

I caddied for BG during a Peter Allias pro am at ferndown GC.

He was paired up with Harry Redknapp, on the 8th tee harry dropped some notes on the floor and jokingly said "Grob you've dropped your bribe money"

He laughed and picked it up and winked at Harry.

I wish I hadnt clicked onto the link.
Opened the memory scars from that game after we should really have won the game at WHL

I’ve a nasty feeling we’ll see the standard failure from SR - lose a player that’s been hung out to dry and replace them with someone worse. That’s how much I trust SR to get any decision right. Peretz will be watched carefully in terms of him actually looking like a keeper.

What would have been your reaction if they had given Baz a new 4 year contract and signed nobody.

Yeah, there is something just typical about SR to get a keeper in who has barely played for years and is very much an unknown entity.

Rather than getting in someone who has a track record showing even a basic level of competency.

I mean, why wasn't he getting games at Hamburg? Oh dear.. here we go again.

To be fair, SR got it right when they sent Baz out on loan and brought in Ramsdale. Not sure I am going to be equally impressed by Peretz.

Yes.

But what a confidence boost for their second choice keeper!!  Being gazumped by the ghost!

Surely that is "Bazumped" ?

They (Hamberg) have Daniel Fernandes, who has been their number 1 for quite a while. I would guess Peretz was signed to give him more competition/back up, but Fernandes continued to play well, so there was no reason to drop him and thus Peretz couldn't get a game.

Obviously disappointed, however that’s not what has happened is it? They’ve gone for a keeper who may be equally poor or worse - the fact is SR’s past performance time and again has been to dilute the quality of the squad, with the notable exception of Scienza, Fellows and Jander (which has been undermined by duds remaining in place). 4 seasons now without a decent CF and millions spent also taints SR and indicates how terrible they are at squad building.

Yes Ramsdale was a good move albeit too late, but of course that still didn’t fully address the core issues at play in the squad.

Ah.. you must have missed the post about Gavin having a brother who is also a keeper...

I wonder if the brother was always a keeper.

If not, at some point Baz switched from outfield, for his brother's position, and made premier league starts out of it.

Will be interesting to see how Baz does with a decent defence in front of him and how Peretz will perform with a shit defence in front of him. The good thing is we will very soon have a confirmation of what we we think

You will see a decent defence becomes a shit defence and a shit defence becomes a very decent one.

It will indeed be a confirmation of what we are already thinking. The people who made excuses for Baz will continue making excuses for him, and the people who didn't rate him, will still not rate him.

Impossible

We’ll soon see, but my money is on Peretz being no better than Baz, even as flawed as he is. SR don’t do squad building and strengthening - they do squad diluting and weakening…it’s in their DNA to break things.
