cloggy saint Posted 24 July, 2023 Share Posted 24 July, 2023 Clough always insisted he paid £999,999,99p. RIP, 69 is no age.

rooney Posted 24 July, 2023 Share Posted 24 July, 2023 Never saw him play live but when I was living in Plymouth in the late 80's I saw him in the stand watching Argyll in their promotion year. He was very popular down there.
revolution saint Posted 24 July, 2023 Share Posted 24 July, 2023 RIP. Bit of a shock. Didn't Lawrie want to sign him the year we finished second but ended up with Fashanu instead?

CB Fry Posted 24 July, 2023 Share Posted 24 July, 2023 Definite minutes silence or more at Sheffield Wednesday as he was a pretty decent manager for them
egg Posted 24 July, 2023 Share Posted 24 July, 2023 Sad news is this. Great player, and a lovely bloke by all accounts. I've always followed Wednesday's fortunes as they are my dada team and he gave their fans a couple of great seasons before they let him go. He also pissed off Simon Jordan which makes him a great man in my view. RIP.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 24 July, 2023 Share Posted 24 July, 2023 Francis, with his NASL tan, record transfer fee and European success with such a talented Forest team struck me as someone who really had the world at his feet. It's so sad to hear the news and our thoughts are with his family and friends.
badgerx16 Posted 24 July, 2023 Share Posted 24 July, 2023 £1m these days would probably buy his right foot.

andypen Posted 24 July, 2023 Share Posted 24 July, 2023 I seem to recall that the next match after he signed for Forest, Cloughie had him sit on the subs bench...
