So been looking at Capology in relation to the players that have gone this Summer - although Capology is not amazing, it's an indication of the wages involved.

  1. Ramsdale - £120k (£6.24m)
  2. Lumley - £10k (£520k)
  3. Walker-Peters - £20k (£1.04m)
  4. Sugawara - £40k (£2.08m)
  5. Bree - £10k (£520k)
  6. Bednarek - £70k (£3.64m)
  7. Bella-Kotchap - £15k (£780k)
  8. Kayi Sanda - £8k (£416k)
  9. Taylor - £30k (£1.56m)
  10. Larios - £15k (£780k)
  11. Ugochukwu - £45k (£2.34m)
  12. Smallbone - £25k (£1.3m)
  13. Fernandes - £20k (£1.04m)
  14. Lallana - £45k (£2.34m)
  15. Gronbaek - £18k (£936k)
  16. Amo-Ameyaw - £5k (£260k)
  17. Dibling - £5k (£260k)
  18. Sulemana - £40k (£2.08m)
  19. Brereton Diaz - £35k (£1.82m)
  20. Onuachu - £30k (£1.56m)

This comes to the following saved:

£606k PW
£31.5m PA

If we can then shift the following:

     21. Aribo - £70k (£3.64m)
     22. Edozie - £15k (£780k)

£691k PW
£36m PA

That, is frankly mental.

I stopped reading when it said KWP was on £20k a week and earning less than Smallbone

These numbers seem like absolute pie in the sky

I don't think they are accurate, but it doesn't matter, it's the rough ball park when you add them up that is scary.  £30-40m per annum saving is HUGE! (whether they are individually right or not)

Why do you say that - he came after multiple loans at a quite young age and never signed a new contract here?

Even if they're not 100% accurate, the point still stands to be fair. We've saved a fortune on the wage bill which is going to stand us in great stead in future windows.

Interesting - assuming we haven't paid anything stupid for new players, which we won't have done, that looks like sensible financial management.

@Farmer Saint are the Capology figures with the (40% off or of?) reduced salary relegation clause included?
Either way yup it’s mental.
Do you have any ideas on the salaries of the incoming newbies yet?

The feedback I have received from various sources was that KWP was on a low wage compared to the rest of the 1st team squad.

If so it shows what relatively good value he was to the team throughout his time with us.

I guess he, Fernandes and Dibling are seeing quite a bit more money in their respective piggy banks now.

No, they are the total contractual figures.

Don't have any knowledge of new players, but as a lot have come from Europe I would expect low wages.

Those numbers are a complete mess. Unlikely to be remotely close to what they are.

They don’t look particularly unrealistic?

and really, Farmer was making a point on the generic wage saving and had already commented on the potential lack of precise accuracy. Why jump on it in that tone?

Do you have evidence that they’re “a complete mess” or just your opinion?

You only have to look at our total wage costs as a percentage of revenue to see that the total saving suggested by Farmer  is likely very close to the truth. We're not close to 100% like some clubs (Villa) but we're still crazy high.

Presumably you have a better idea of the true figures and will share the details with us in short order.

It's fine, be interesting to see what FM has them down as...

Go on then, put your money where your keyboard is. What are the figures more likely to be?

Amazing that Dibling and his people didn't opt to extend his £5k per week deal with us when we were telling everyone who would listen that he was a £100m asset.

Greedy bastard

😁 I'm sure he was given plenty of opportunities to sign a much more lucrative contract over the last 18 months

So done a comparison where I can to players in FM24...FM24 numbers first, then capology numbers:

KWP - 36 v 20

Bednarek - 36 v 70 (but new contract was signed after this so likely to have gone up)

Sulemana - 30 v 40

Bree - 18 v 10

Smallbone - 24 v 25

Larios - 18 v 15

Lumley - 10 v 10

SAA - £220 v 5 (but pro contract signed after this, so likely to have gone up)

Even without the new contracts, the comparison is:

FM: £172k

Capology: £195k

Looks pretty close to me @Matthew Le God

Just shows why we need to hope that Aribo gets snapped up or loaned by a Turkish or Saudi club.

Just a question for debate and feedback from those who might know.

IF and its a biggish IF, the team get promoted this season, do the players get a bonus based on the 40%/50% of the expected reduction in their salary following relegation?

Assuming the £70k figure is correct and I reckon it’s thereabouts, take off 40% assuming the relegation applies across all playing contracts and it still comes to £42k p/w. That’s a contender for our highest paid player at this level.

Mind you, given Al Shabab just allegedly offered Josh Brownhill over £100k p/w (Wolves forum) Joe and his agent must reckon they can get near that or parallel with Saudi. Whereas only really Galatasaray and Fenerbache can get near those sort of salaries and is Joe worth that? Been decent for us but that wage probably reflects the-then glory of scoring in a Europa Final and being a leading light in Rangers cup run.

How would a farmer have knowledge of a footballers wages when they were only signed a few days ago?
