Center Back could also be Jim Steele based on the song, also on song alone up front Brett Ormerod? 1

I still laugh at the Benali one as didn't he think "red army" was "Benali" at one point? Or the other way round, can't remember 1

I can remember Benali/Pastrami/Salami/Red Army all being shouted at various points when that chant got going, back then fans didn't take stuff so seriously (and every chant didn't need to mention the skates) 2 2

Technically yeah but he'd often "drift" out to the left wing to launch an opposition player into the east stand benches, so that counts right? 1

Green Posted 26 September, 2025 Posted 26 September, 2025 Play 4-3-3 to add another striker and we’ve got “score a goal Neil Shipperley”
VectisSaint Posted 26 September, 2025 Posted 26 September, 2025 His name is Ronnie Davies. He's the leader of the team. The greatest centre forward that the world has ever seen. You always can rely on him to score the winning goal and as for Bobby Charlton, you can stick him up your hole. Nananana nana nana na... 3

rallyboy Posted 27 September, 2025 Posted 27 September, 2025 While we have the odd classic there are some terrible chants on that list that are made even worse by the people around me at that time being tone deaf.

If you don’t know it you are probably too young but it was sung to Jackie Wilson said ( I’m in Heaven) by Dexy’s midnight runners. Very popular no words just something even the most pissed up Saints fan could gurgle along to Ps sorry @Wurzelsee you already mentioned it though it was the intro to JackieWilson said not Geno. ( that’s 3 points on Popmaster for me and I’m well on the way to getting a signed photo 🤣) Edited 27 September, 2025 by gio1saints 1
gio1saints Posted 27 September, 2025 Posted 27 September, 2025 “Channon is Bionic” is another terrace chant that dates itself perfectly in sync with the era of “Steve Austin - The Six Million dollar Man” 1

Then again it was original so had no fucking chance of catching. On 26/09/2025 at 21:17, Badger said: Hojbjerg and Lamina worthy considerations as well. That Lemina one made me laugh, think we played Watford at st marys and they were singing it about one of their players, the very next game it was lifted and ripped off word for word for Lemina by our dins. We genuinely have one of the least creative fanbases in the game, god knows why but they can't sing anything unless it's a 100miles an hour, nicked from another club and/or mentions the blue few
