Thinking about our lack of player songs right now got me thinking ... historic first 11 based on songs?

S. Armstrong   Le Tissier Wanyama  LM?

Lambert  Pahars

 

So I'm struggling with right back and left midfield? Might be a better terrace song than Pahars or Claus, but I'm struggling to remember any ...

Left midfield OOOOOOHHH Terry Hurlock? Right back Jason Dodd, Dodd, Dodd. Center Back could also be Jim Steele based on the song, also on song alone up front Brett Ormerod?

I loved Terry Hurlock, proper player - forgot about him thanks!!

I still laugh at the Benali one as didn't he think "red army" was "Benali" at one point? Or the other way round, can't remember

Running joke at the time was it was interchangeable wasn't it? I can remember Benali/Pastrami/Salami/Red Army all being shouted at various points when that chant got going, back then fans didn't take stuff so seriously (and every chant didn't need to mention the skates)

The Angus Gunn/Baby Shark song was an all time low for Saints fans

The Ruben Agboola song was a favourite of mine at the Dell. If you don’t know it you are probably too young but it was sung to Jackie Wilson said ( I’m in Heaven) by Dexy’s midnight runners. Very popular no words just something even the most pissed up Saints fan could gurgle along to 


Ps sorry @Wurzelsee you already mentioned it though it was the intro to JackieWilson said not Geno. ( that’s 3 points on Popmaster for me and I’m well on the way to getting a signed photo 🤣)

Yep hands up, I knew I had it wrong but too late to edit it. Thought I'd get away hoping no-one else would be  old enough to remember it. 😂

Always annoyed the shit out of me that we just re-used the redomond song for KWP, even more so because my group were trying to get Prince's Raspberry Beret used for him instead. Then again it was original so had no fucking chance of catching.
