Fantastic post, and explains why Eckert got the job instead of someone with more experience and stature in the game.

To me, it looks like the Russell Martin players have too much influence.  Why are we playing tippy-tappy again?  Because it’s easy for some of the fucking lazy players on the pitch and Eckert hasn’t got the balls to upset them.

Oxford are a poor Championship side, but even they had sussed out Saints and managed to sneak a win. Just embarrassing, considering the money spent in the summer.

3 CBs weren't needed, put an extra man in midfield, to help deliver some decent service to the forwards.

If thousands of Saints fans can see, why the hell can't they.

Was thinking about this following the Oxford game. We have a team chock full of bang average players getting very large pay packets for these league - some picking up circa £40-50k a week - well over £2m a year apiece. Clear they feel superior to most of the sides we face, the managers Sport Republic choose to pander to them, and worst of all our support. This is why Solak’s last throw of the dice should have seen Ankerson, Spors and Co exorcised from the club and a credible respected manager put in place to stop the rot, tell some hard truths about ability, and put an enema through these poundshop prima donnas!

Could be but who knows, Ralph, Martin, Selles, Juric, Still, and now Tonda, all seem to have been working under a cloud.

Guess it was this line that threw me - the implication appears to be that you’d rather not start with all of them - “You won't win many games of football starting with those six players in what is a very physical league. There has to be a balance between physical players ”

Poundshop Prima Donnas - brilliant Milton. Love the name btw...takes me back to when I first watched the Saints, partly for the footie and partly watching the 'Come-and-have-a-go-at-the-Milton-agg-a-ro' crowd! 

Have never made it to St Mary's yet living in Canada but suspect there's nothing similar tolerated anymore...
