Farmer Saint Posted Sunday at 23:15 Posted Sunday at 23:15 Anyone watching? Thoughts on the game? Can't see past the Seahawks for this, and happy for Darnold after his journey through the League.
badgerx16 Posted Sunday at 23:49 Posted Sunday at 23:49 (edited) Ryan Fitzpatrick's beard has probably got animals nesting in it. ( You would only understand if watching on SKY ). Edited Sunday at 23:49 by badgerx16

Holmes_and_Watson Posted yesterday at 00:29 Posted yesterday at 00:29 Not seen a game in years. But catching the 2nd quarter, and it looks like a defensive game so far.
Farmer Saint Posted yesterday at 00:57 Author Posted yesterday at 00:57 It's very defensive, but very good defence. Masterclass from the two Defensive Coordinators.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted yesterday at 01:14 Posted yesterday at 01:14 I thought Patriots getting over their 10 yards from their 3rd down was important, as the Sea Hawks could have made it 9 then. As it was, they got another field goal. O evgood play and the Patriots are right back in it, although no sign of that coming yet.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted yesterday at 03:27 Posted yesterday at 03:27 Seahawks dominant throughout, through the defence. I was pleased Maye got some joy eventually, as that was a very tough night for him.

Turkish Posted yesterday at 12:33 Posted yesterday at 12:33 I’m not interested whatsoever in American sports but after being in Boston last week I watched a bit of basketball and quite enjoyed it. Some colleagues went early so went to the Celtics game on the Sunday and all enjoyed it.
AlexLaw76 Posted yesterday at 12:37 Posted yesterday at 12:37 Brits who are really into NFL are a bit odd. Probably vegans too 1

Do they use a double pivot and a false 13? Mid to chest high blocks. 🙂 Maye got turned over three times and there was one move (a screen it's called) that set up a false runner, only to pass it shorter. It was fine as something different to watch. The score being close for half the game, made it more interesting, even if that meant touchdowns arriving later on.

Blasphemy, I love watching snooker - nothing beats that quiet time and calmness, it's my 'zen sport'. Darts can fk off though, noisy crap. 1
Patrick Bateman Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago And yes the NFL is rubbish and watched by oddballs (over here anyway, you're excused if you're actually an American)
pingpong Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I like it, it's like chess with gladiators. Every play is 10 seconds of speed and power, makes for a lot of action. I do like a close game though, don't think will go down as one of the greats somehow.
Farmer Saint Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago People who don't like NFL tend to be those that don't understand the rules. I've never met someone who understands it and doesn't like it.

Slow and tedious were my memories of it. But it was a fair bit quicker, than I remembered. Helped, a bit, by New England having to get a move on to get back in the game. The breaks weren't even that intrusive. I didn't find myself doing lots of other things. Exception of the nice half hour half time, where I nipped off to have something to eat.

I watched the second half of Liverpool v City on Sunday and thought that was slow and tedious as well. The amount of time wasted is criminal given the cost of tickets.

An hour of the game, but dragged out over 3 1/2 hours ish, and even then, a passage of play can be a second or two.

At least it didn't take 4 hours, have a shit concert at half time, be packed pull of ad breaks, and swapping attack for defense. American football - crap Soccer ball - splendid 2

Possibly to allow someone else on just to take a corner, or MLT to come on just for a penalty. 🙂
whelk Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) I actually got into American football years ago when I was in the US and genuinely enjoyed it at the time. Although cannot fathom how I got there as find it impossible to get into again now. Edited 3 hours ago by whelk
