Willo of Whiteley Posted Saturday at 07:19 Posted Saturday at 07:19 Here’s a distraction for today, apologies if it’s already been done. Who deserves which award? Player of the season? Most disappointing? Best signing? Worst signing? Biggest high (best moment) from the season? Biggest low (worst moment)? - BUT THIS CAN’T INCLUDE THE LAST THREE WEEKS AND BEING KICKED OUT THE PLAY OFFS Most improved player? Best match? Your hope for the summer and next season? Let’s have a distraction day! Go!
Willo of Whiteley Posted Saturday at 08:44 Author Posted Saturday at 08:44 Player of the season? Taylor Harwood-Bellis Most disappointing? Joshua Quarshie - always a mistake in him, like Gavin Bazunu Best signing? Daniel Peretz - amazing what can happen with a GK that can use his hands Worst signing? Mads Roerslev - maybe unfair, but permanently injured is not a benefit for us Biggest high (best moment) from the season? Azaz scoring at Wembley Biggest low (worst moment)? - Losing away at to Oxford on Boxing Day Most improved player? Kuryu Matsuki - build a team around this guy next season Best match? In person I saw 5-0 at home to QPR Your hope for the summer and next season? Sport Republic either sell up or hire a proper manager for once to entice players back to the club. 1
Holmes_and_Watson Posted Saturday at 10:02 Posted Saturday at 10:02 Player of the season? Scienza (both on field and for the encouragement, support and approach off it.) Most disappointing? Downs had a shocker. We can only hope it was a bit of a confidence nosedive, and that he'll be better. Best signing? Peretz. Seconds into his first appearance, and you could see the difference in our defence. Bree coming back helped too, as did Larin to give us a team shape finally. Worst signing? George Long, brought in for training, came very close to being our keeper. Biggest high (best moment) from the season? Those minutes where we thought we were getting to the FA Cup Final. Agree hit, without any weight of promotion attached. Biggest low (worst moment)? - BUT THIS CAN’T INCLUDE THE LAST THREE WEEKS AND BEING KICKED OUT THE PLAY OFFS - It not working out for Will Still and us lurking around the bottom. Most improved player? Tweaking the system to bring out Manning's strengths. Best match? QPR a good shout. Wrexham away when the playoff place sunk in. Leicester wins were cathartic. Your hope for the summer and next season? Having come so close, Tonda and the lads will rally round. Hopefully Dragon will see it now within our grasp and keep supporting us too.
Saint NL Posted Saturday at 10:51 Posted Saturday at 10:51 (edited) Player of the season? As much as I can't believe it, Ryan Manning. Most disappointing? Quarshie. Should be a top player, maybe one day. Best signing? Peretz and Scienza. Jander in third. Worst signing? Damion Downs. Appalling from the start. Biggest high (best moment) from the season? Charles winner at Leicester. Biggest low (worst moment)? - BUT THIS CAN’T INCLUDE THE LAST THREE WEEKS AND BEING KICKED OUT THE PLAY OFFS Losing 4-0 to Boro was awful, but the last days of Will Still were pretty rough and wondering if we might actually be in a relegation battle. Most improved player? Manning, went from a liability to player of the season imo. Best match? Either Charlton or Arsenal. Your hope for the summer and next season? We need to keep the majority of the players, but do a major refresh of everything else. Not sure those things go hand in hand. Edited Saturday at 10:52 by Saint NL 1
Dr Who? Posted Saturday at 13:19 Posted Saturday at 13:19 Player of the season? Manning. Most disappointing? Downs Best signing? Peretz Worst signing? Downs Biggest high (best moment) from the season? Beating Arsenal Biggest low (worst moment)? - BUT THIS CAN’T INCLUDE THE LAST THREE WEEKS AND BEING KICKED OUT THE PLAY OFFS Losing 4-0 to Boro. Spineless performance Most improved player? Manning Best match? Leicester away. Your hope for the summer and next season? Keeping as much as we can together and going again without the spying.
Willo of Whiteley Posted Saturday at 13:45 Author Posted Saturday at 13:45 How did I forget Damion Downs? 😢 He’s upgraded to the worst player in years.

Probably features as Hamburgs worse player of the season too - my German mate said he stank the place out 🤣who knows, we might be investigated for rooking Hamburg into taking him on loan 😂 1

Good choices, I would go for Best Match in person. Charlton 1-5 away and Leicester 3-4 away. 1
westmidlandsaint Posted Saturday at 15:06 Posted Saturday at 15:06 Player of the season? Leo Scienza Most disappointing? Damion Downs Best signing? Peretz Worst signing? Damion Downs Biggest high (best moment) from the season? Beating Arsenal Biggest low (worst moment)? - not beating Pompey at home Most improved player? James Bree Best match? 2nd half v Leicester or Arsenal Your hope for the summer and next season? That the mass exodus is not as bad as feared, we don't start with Bazunu as #1. We continue the unbeaten run quickly overturn the -4 and romp to title.
Willo of Whiteley Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago Goal of the Season: Shea Charles - any one of the three
sadoldgit Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Worst spy? Too soon? Edited 1 hour ago by sadoldgit
SNSUN Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Player of the season? Leo Scienza but acknowledging how hard this vote was this year. Azaz, Downes, THB, Bree, Peretz, Jander, Manning, Charles etc are all in with shouts. Most disappointing? Damien Downs is a no brainer. Best signing? Daniel Peretz. Jander, Azaz and Leo were close. If Peretz had a whole season playing at that level he would have got POTS. Worst signing? Downs Biggest high (best moment) from the season? Last second winner against Leicester by Charles Biggest low (worst moment)? - Getting kicked out the play-offs. Screw you Willo. 😁 Most improved player? Manning. Not perfect, but much improved and good for the Championship. Best match? 3-4 Leicester - we won't achieve a comeback like that again in years. Your hope for the summer and next season? To have a squad that can complete. I still worry about where we'll be by September. Best Goal - Charles vs Leicester just beats Azaz at Wembley. 1
AlexLaw76 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Damion Downs cooked against Wrexham, that assist was a thing of beauty

Player of the season? Leo, no brainer. Most disappointing? Downs obviously but Romeu for me, I really thought he had a season left in the tank. Best signing? Leo and Peretz. Worst signing? Downs Biggest high (best moment) from the season? Leicester comeback and that start at Charlton. Biggest low (worst moment)? - Blackburn away, Stephens on for Leo. Embarrassing. Most improved player? Downes improved back to his best from his absolute worst, but Manning improved to levels we didn’t know were possible. Best match? Wrexham away, we were fucking brilliant. Or Arsenal in the cup. Your hope for the summer and next season? Stability.
benjii Posted 28 minutes ago Posted 28 minutes ago On reflection, a season with several magical moments. The 4th goal at Leicester felt like this was OUR season, and it would have been without this nonsense lately. The Arsenal win was brilliant. Fantastic atmosphere at SMS. And of course the Azaz goal at Wembley is up there with Ooooohhh Gabbbbiadiiini. Also Scienza's goal at QPR was a bit of a turning point. And Manning's free kick against Wrexham - what a belter.

I don't like delving into "What ifs" and "Coulda beens" because you can't go back and change what happened but had we simply gone into the final, we'd probably have won it, and we'd all now be partying and celebrating and looking forward to seeing what signings we could add to the squad. It was a hell of a roller coaster through the season and we deserved to go up via the play-offs. Obviously that has been taken from us but we go again and try and do it again next season with whatever squad we can cobble together after the inevitable sales.
