Absolutely this. Has been scoring a few as well which would be useful.

We need another striker because old man Larin is creaking. Some good suggestions already I won't repeat, but how much would Kone from QPR cost - he is a young Larin. Vipotnik isn't getting much starting time and could offer us something as well. I suspect it will be someone from Germany though that we have never heard of or considered. I don't know enough about the German leagues to name anyone who could be suitable.

I thought we should have gone for Kone when he was at Wycombe. He went to QPR for an undisclosed fee but Wycombe were asking for £5 million. Guess we would be looking at £8 million now, but can't see them selling as they will be looking at the playoffs.

I would like to think Spors would be looking at Max Moerstedt from Hoffenhiem. Not seen him play but his figures look quite good and isn’t going to break the bank.

Looks decent. Currently out with a head injury according to Transfer Market.

Does anyone know Robbie Ure? Young striker at Sevilla. Similar size as Larin. Has a few Scotland caps. Isn't getting a lot of minutes, but plays most games.

Less realistic: Conrad Harder. Strong striker at Strasbourg. He is getting more minutes as the season goes on. Chelsea seems to be sniffing around.

I thought Robbie Ure played for O.H. Vienna?

The striker to go for in the Championship is Makama at Norwich, especially if you want someone to be able to grow into the PL too. But he’ll cost a shit load no doubt.

Gudjohson - Strikers who score under Mowbray are fascinating. I can never work out if good or not. We’ve had a mix ourselves.

I like Heggabe at WBA but unlikely given their own promotion bid.

Carlton Morris has been name checked as one of the best in this division by Eckert before btw…

Interesting angle to consider, but he’s really got the best out of some.

It would've been good to see how Mbick from Charlton was getting on but he's missed matches 3 times this season with a knee injury (bit of a red flag) and not played much. We were linked with signing him for £5mil out of the blue around the deadline but didn't quite get it done. More one for the future though. Charlton's best player is probably Tyreese Campbell on the wing, always looked pretty handy, but we're currently well stocked there.

I see Kevin Phillips reckons we should sign Lukas Nmecha. Any good?

He's not a regular for Leeds but I think is well liked there and has been very good in the past (including caps for Germany). Could be a similar signing to Larin and would be an excellent addition I reckon. Expect any fee wouldn't be massive as out of contract at the end of the season, but would command a high salary. I imagine any move would be a subsidised loan and then hoping to sign on a free should we get promoted.

Sounds ideal to be honest. Hopefully he's interested.

Vipotnik is out of form but might be available and showed last season he can score at this level. I think Richard Kone and Gudjohnsson as mentioned above would be good shouts too if available but otherwise I don't think we'll be looking at the championship for a striker.

Premier league loan or someone from Germany probably.

On another note, Moylan at Cardiff looks a player. Only move in the summer but he'd be a great option from the left or through the middle in rotation with Leo and Azaz.

Hadn't heard of him before, but a youtube reel (I know that can't be relied on) looks like he could DAJFU although he does seem to 'draw fouls'.

Patrick Agyemang at Derby could be a realistic target

He's out with an achilles tendon rupture so steer clear after the Ross Stewart experience.

What about andri gudjohnson. Seems like the right sort of profile.

Edit: see someone has already mentioned him.

He'd be my pick....9 goals in 13 games. Son of Eidur so a good pedigree. Would get him for a reasonable price if he wanted to come and if Blackburn would release him.

Also wouldn't want to spend too much. Prefer to get someone good for the championship for cheaper and keep our powder dry for if we get promoted.

Of the players mentioned, and from what I’ve read he sounds an ideal Larin Mk II but about four years younger.

But I also read that Leeds would only release him if they sign an alternative, so it might depend if we are prepared to wait how the window pans out. Jan 31st for the signing perhaps.

Be surprised if Blackburn didn’t want £15m plus add ons in January.

I think some people are overestimating the amount of money we are willing and/or able to spend in January. Part of the reason we went for Mubama is that he’s low cost and therefore low risk, any replacement is very likely to be the same, rather than a £10m+ signing.

No way. They paid 2.2m Euros for him in August 2025 so his value hasn't gone up that much in just over a year. I get that they can set whatever price they like but they'll have to be realistic if he is interested in a move in January.

That means nothing to me.

Not for me, his movement is crap, saw him play recently and spent the game all stood still

You think a 6’2", 24 year old striker with eight league goals in eleven games and a long contract remaining ‘won’t be much more’ than €2.2m?

Where did I say that out of interest? Can you quote me cos I'm confused.

It's likely that Boro will be in the market for a striker having been as poor as they were last night without Lankshear. They'll be fishing in the same ponds as us so we might need to play it smart.

Agreed, would never be £15m. £8-10m would do it IMO. Either way I think it's more likely to be another Premier League loan. Nmecha is certainly an interesting shout.

What’s up with Lankshear?

Hamstring issue but they seemed optimistic it was a Scienza type knock that would only keep him out for days rather than weeks
