Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 10 February, 2009 Share Posted 10 February, 2009 ...but is there any hope of anyone new signing for us? Wotte tried to get a striker (Denneboom) during the transfer window, I wonder if he's still trying to get anyone now. One of our rivals, Norwich, have begun strengthening by re-signing their former defender, Jason Shackell; I just hope we're able to get someone to partner Saga. Carozzi Posted 10 February, 2009 Share Posted 10 February, 2009 Jonas Wallerstedt on loan? correct me if i am wrong but i thought any loans outside a transfer window had to be domestic, someone like harewood for example i would like to see us try and get wellbeck from man u
the saint in winchester Posted 10 February, 2009 Share Posted 10 February, 2009 More likely that we'll have players going OUT on loan (not in). Agree with Saints67 that RB is probably the only position we NEED filling. Another striker would be nice, but I would partner Paterson with Saga. In the little time that he has had in the first team he has come across (to me)as lightweight and lazy. He may be one for the future, but he is not what we need ATM. Big Bad Bob Posted 10 February, 2009 Share Posted 10 February, 2009 Why is everyone assuming Saints will get anyone IN I expect Lowe to ship a few OUT on loan Ah, just like he WAS going to sell Surman and Lallana in january!! I would suggest your Crystal Ball needs some fine tuning! Actually that's ******, the chances are that a few will go out on loan, just not the ones you are alluding to!! SaintDonkey Posted 10 February, 2009 Share Posted 10 February, 2009 To be honest I think a loan spell in league 1 would do Lallana some good. He's lost his way a bit this season and while he undoubtedly has talent there have been too many times recently where he's been anonymous. We definietly need a right back, and another striker would give some competition for the place alongside Saga (who MUST play!).
Big Bad Bob Posted 10 February, 2009 Share Posted 10 February, 2009 Or we could just get that Rasiak guy back We can't. He's on a season long loan!!

Big Bad Bob Posted 10 February, 2009 Share Posted 10 February, 2009 (edited) no loopholes at all?? no emergency recall option? ie. a "you're going to stay up instead of us emergency" situation. Actually i don't know. I thought the league regs meant that you can't recall a player during his initial loan spell, but if you extend it you can!! I can't find anything on t'web to say one way or the other!! ah, here we go (from http://www.football-league.co.uk/staticFiles/78/3/0,,10794~888,00.pdf) 48.2.4 The period of a Long Term Loan shall expire no earlier than the end of the Season in which the Long Term Loan takes place and a Player signed on such a transfer must complete the loan period and may not be recalled by his original Club at any time Edited 10 February, 2009 by Big Bad Bob finished it off
trousers Posted 10 February, 2009 Share Posted 10 February, 2009 I still think we'd be better off with MLT stood on the half way line than playing DMG. Not even joking. I've been saying for the last two seasons that we need MLT on the bench. 10 minutes of Le Tiss each game would work wonders in this league. Not joking either. Didn't he have to have to re-register as a player to take part in Claus's testimonial last year....? Hmmm.....

Actually that's ******, the chances are that a few will go out on loan, just not the ones you are alluding to!! I was both amazed, and very pleased that Surman & Lallana were not sold Yes, my Crystal Ball needs fine tuning, mainly to take into effect that, in the economic downturn, even Mr Lowe cannot command big fees for CCC players It is ironic, that if Lowe shifts afew more out on loan, we will have a Stronger Team out on loan, than we have left at St Mary's Yet more astute Business sense from the Football Genious that is Lowe
Chez Posted 11 February, 2009 Share Posted 11 February, 2009 I'd of happily taken Djimi Traore off the skates hands for three months as Brum have just done. I'd opf stuck him alongside Seijs instead of Perry. Some extra height at the back would not go a miss.
Chez Posted 11 February, 2009 Share Posted 11 February, 2009 (edited) IMO we need a centre midfielder that can put a tackle or two in. Mehdi Nafti might be an option. How about Lauren from the skates. He has been ****e for them but this is a league apart. Glem little could fill the vacant right midfield slot. Despite the " window " being open, it would affect our OVER-DRAFT ,if we were to sign any more players.
