CRAIG DAVID has emerged as a shock contender to save Southampton from going out of business.

The 27-year-old pop star is a huge Saints fan and has followed their rise and fall since he was a boy.

He has expressed his shock at seeing the club he supports formally put up for sale after its parent company called in administrators to rescue the Championship strugglers.

Half a dozen parties have shown an interest in trying to prevent the South Coast side from folding.

And now R&B singer-songwriter David has vowed to lend his support to the cause, calling on serious backers to ‘fill me in’.

The ‘Born To Do It’ star said: “I’ve been a big Saints supporter since I was five and like most kids dreamed of one day running out of the tunnel at the old Dell in red and white stripes!

"The club is too important to me and the people of Southampton in general to be in this kind of mess, so it’s vital that we all do what we can to help.

"I’m currently on tour in Japan otherwise I’d definitely be showing my support on the terraces at St Mary's tomorrow for the Charlton game.

"But I am happy to help out in any way I can and if anybody is thinking of starting a campaign or a consortium to save the club, count me in and get in touch!”

Haha!

We could do with a re-rewind back to the 80's!!!!!!!

Throw Artful Dodger in for a knees up as well.

Then of course you could go for Howard Jones (although I've never been sure whether where he was born was Hythe in Hants or Hythe in Kent, but beggars can't be choosers).

He used to live in High Wycombe too - even when he was famous. I'll ask my son-in-law (in the music business) if he's still around (Howard, not my s-i-l :D)

Wait a minute, Rewind for a second.

Is Craig David serious about this? Personally, I reckon he was Born To Do It, but is he going to see it through and take it All The Way?

I'm not so sure, it's 6 Of 1 Thing and half a dozen of another with him. Surely he's got some sort of Hidden Agenda?

I hope someone has told him it will take longer than 7 Days to get the deal done?

Would be quite good if he bought us out though, because then we could say, "Craig, SFC is Officially Yours!"

Sorry, couldn't resist. :p

Scott Mills is a local lad and has one of the most popular radio shows on Radio One. Could we get him to say something, ie advertise the fact we need a buyer? Will get the word out to plenty of people who wouldn't know what's happening. Got to be worth a shot. I would text in, but am in Australia.

As much as Id like anyone to help save this club, I cant help feeling a bit p*ssed off that it is only now that these rich supporters of ours are saying they may help...

If they are supporters where the hell have they been over the last couple of years whilst all this mess with the club has been going on...

Believe me Im not having a dig at anyone personally, Im just hoping that these guys have not left it to late to make a difference....

Here were my original ones for the protest:

Re-ewind when the crowd shout Lowe reject him!"

" Lowe led this club on Monday sold all our best players on Tuesday, we went down the leagues on Wednesday and on Thursday and Friday and Saturday entered admin on Sunday."

"I'm walking away from this ****hole of a club, refusing to pay oh till Rupert goes away."

"I was making a Lowe sucks sign when Portvliet walked out and I said Hey Lowe what you planning now? So I come on this march and I find that Lowe's swanned off to a break in France dressed in cashmere thermals and stripy tweed pants. So the club we went in then we stood hissing, gesturing talked bout Van der Waals sounded int'resting, so gave Wilde a ring, all calls diverted to answerphone, please leave a message after the tone. I know Michael Svennson is kinda cool but one good appointment still makes you a fool. We still support the lads but need transparency, most of the team still aint hit puberty.

Singing why did you bother coming back at all? Now you've kept Mark Wotte on, forced Jan to take the fall, if you want league one well we've set out our stall, can you fill me in? Boardroom squabbles over a train, Taking a wage and you're still a drain, sacking Pearson Rupert's gone insane! Can you fill me in?"

The PLC status has aways been the problem m8. Now thats out of the way and the club can be bought properly the door is now open for Craig and the like to do something about it.

Let's be honnest, she is an expert when it comes to 'support'.

I now have 3 reasons to like her

Nice to see she has kept abreast of the situation

It's a breast of fresh air

Saints have had their knockers this season

Not the first tits to be seen at SMS this season

how many more boob jokes are there...
