Time To Drop The Blame Game?

We can't change where we are in the league (At this point in time), we can't influnence the FA's decision regarding points deductions ad we can't choose who is going to buy (:prayer:) us.

The constant sniping and *****ing amoungst our own fans (Guilty myself) as to whose fault it was, changes nothing.

When I grew up being taken to football by my Grandad and then by my Dad, I could have told you the entire squad, what boots they wore and as long as they had been interviewed by "Shoot", what their favorite music and meals were....... What I couldn't have named, was a single director or probably even the chairman.

**** them all. It's time to move on and get back to football. We are so use to all these politics, I think we've forgotten, what we all fell in love with.

Amen to all of that. What's done is done and no amount of blaming and shaming is going to change the past.

Now is the perfect chance for us to draw a line under all the crap and to move forward as one united club from the fans through the players to the (hopefully) new owners, whatever league we find ourselves in next season.

And yet on here there are still accusations and recriminations, give it up people.

I don't care whose fault it all was, it's what we do next that matters and certainly if I was a prospective future owner doing a bit of desktop research on here (it really isn't hard for them to do) I don't think the stuff on here would be selling the club to me right now, and I'd wonder if I might be better off sinking my money into a hole in the ground the end result would probably be the same and it'd be without all the grief from a bunch of fans who need their expectations managing down somewhat.

I agree Gemmel. We know who is to blame. I think when the new owner is announced we'll all forget about the main poor decision-maker and united behind the Club. It's started already if we're honest with increased gates of 10-14000 at SMS each game.

When the new owner is announced he or she will be greated with hero status!

What if it is Rupert Lowe???

How about a Moderator-policed ceasefire until the end of the season?

I have strong feelings about how we came to be where we are but I can't face slagging Rupert off again, it gets boring.

If we have new owners soon then we will have plenty of time later to reflect and charge people with war crimes in the close season, and if we don't have new owners then we will have shedloads of time to set up a proper tribunal with a gallows.

... hang on if we stop talking about the 'blame game' what are we going to talk about until the new owner is announced?

1. The Team? Too depressing.

2. The Manager? More depressing.

3. The catering? Done to death. ;)

4. The renewed queues in the concourses for pints and pies? Refreshing progress.

5. The Takeover hopefuls? No info as it is being carefully and professionally played this time unlike the last joke takeover talks, which were destined to go no-where as the will to sell was never really there.

6. Help?! :)

Oh how simple it once was, if only we could return to those great days.

Will never forget my first pair of Patrick boots...had to have em, kept them cleaned, dubbing, polished almost a shame to play football in them, couldn't replicate his skill or the perm.

From what I think was one of those Shoot interviews always thought Gordon Banks was born in a Workshop only when writing my own profile and putting General Hospital in the born section was I put straight.

I guess it's therapeutic for some, they need to get the anger out of their systems.

No harm in blowing off a bit of steam on a chat forum is there?

I went to play a game a year or two back and realised I had no boots. Despite all the fab Ronaldo blue nikes, etc, I bought a pair of Patricks cos that what KK used to wear!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed Gemmel,

Hindsight is a wonderful thing - isn't it?... and we've all had our share of

" I told you so " comments. What's done is done and there's no changing it.

Isn't it about time we looked at the club with some vision of a positive future and stop slamming everyone ?

Trouble is there isn't any good football to talk about at the moment!;)

And not likely to for sometime.

I am continually thinking things are getting better on the pitch only to receieve a kick in the teeth when we fail to perform like against Charlton.

So although I am hoping for a good result today on past performances I may well be let down again.

Every single one of the three have to shoulder some of the blame for our fall from grace some more than the others. All the reasons have been done to death for what feels like for a life time on the number of forums we have had. I am more worried about the long term future of the club, some of the things that were said and done over the last four or five years should never have happened. They say there is no future with out history but it is history now the future is more important for now.

Totally agree with your sentiments Gemmel football was never about chairmen it was about what happened on the grass for 90 mins week in and week out. I for one am sick and tired of hearing the same 3 names being used especially as none of them has ever kicked a ball in anger.

The shaming of Lowe can never stop. His mismanagement towers above anything else in Saints glorious history.

You know what...

I think you're right.

Blame game rests there in the main instance and will never ever stop. He has to live with failure and us telling him what a failure and loser he is ALL HIS LIFE.

Sorry, ******** to pausing on the blame game in retrospect... Lowe, Wilde, JP and Wotte. Take your pick and anihilate.

I will stop when we have a new owner and a manager to proudly get behind for the fight next season.

There needs to be a lot of blood letting. I have been a season ticket holder for the last 15 years and for most of those years I have endured to most depressing, gutless football week after week. I have been bad mouthed by so called saints fans who turn up to the big games. I am so confused I don't know who's to blame but I am completely sick of it. I will go next year but I will not buy a season ticket. The shame of playing Crapsville utd in front of 5,000 fans at SMS should make everyone realise just how far we have come.

Irony?...

'Stop the blame game? But it's not my fault!'

As long as I have breath in my body I will continue to hold that beetroot cheeked f^cker responsible for setting in motion the decline of Saints.

Despite the intervention of,and assistance he may have received from,Wilde and Crouch it started with Lowe in 2004 and he fulfilled the 'kamikaze' management with JPand MW five years later.
