So Who Is In This "Le Tissier" Group ?

I think i and many other Saints fans are looking beyond the 'Le Tissier' PR and wondering who exactly he has aligned himself too. Money is one thing and there has been no talk of 'investment' it has to be said. But the most important thing is those making the decisions. That is where SFC has gone wrong for many years and now sees us in League 1.

So who is behind this MLT lot ? All we know is wealthy property and land owners based in London ( i presume).

I hate the fact we are getting thrown into something and us fans know nothing.

I've heard (and before you all shoot me down in flames, I can't be sure how accurate this is, and I don't claim to be ITK).

But I have heard that the Pinnacle group backed by MLT has some links to Rupert Lowe. What these links are I don't know. But apparently it is on their website. I tried to look, but there are a lot of websites for companies called Pinnacle on Google and I have no idea which is the correct one.

Like I said, I don't know how accurate this is. But it does make sense. I mean, how better to win fan support, and deflect the spotlight from links to our beloved ex-chairman, than to win endorsement from our biggest modern-day legend?

I appreciate that you are only posting something you have heard might be true. Please appreciate the fact that I would like to say that it is also complete nonsense. MLT would never knowingly back a consortium that include RL - IMHO.

To be honest that was my initial thought as well. But it was something I heard so thought it might be worth sharing.

It might be that the link is so tenuous that it's hardly worth mentioning, or that it is complete balls.

Just sharing something I've heard. :)

I can 100% categorically state the Pinnacle consortium does not involve R Lowe esq.

Same as that. I think MLT would rather poke himself in the eye with a blunt stick than have anything to do with the Ex chairman (who shall remain nameless).

How could MLT support Stupert Lowe after his comments about him in the press.

So FF are you confident they will get a deal done? Also will it make us smile a little........its been a long time!

I really don't know if it will be done or not. Delicately poised I reckon.

I think there is reasonable to substantial wealth involved in this consortium but I suppose it all boils down to how serious the investors are and ultimately what their motives are.

Interesting you say "ultimately what their motives are" If my guess is correct it still sits comfortably with me.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but I heard (from a friend of Lynam's) that the money was coming from either someone involved with RBS (I posted this a couple of weeks ago) or The National Bank of Abu Dhabi. Sorry, but I have no more information on this, and don't even know if it's accurate or not. Make of it what you will.

Does it matter at this stage? This is looking increasingly like the only hope we have.

I dont see it like that. I think it is the bid - one of many - that Fry has wittled the options down to.

One point I will say, this isnt MLTs bid it is someone elses - Matt has obviously been approached to support it and seems genuinely excited enough to allow it to bear his name.

Like Duncan says above RL is not involved at all with Pinnacle. A few people on here do know the names involved but their anonymity is something they wish to keep (so if you do know please dont go mentioing names). Some people will ask why? I honestly dont know the answer to that, but personally I see nothing bad behind it. As for when the deal will be done, well I have been told that there are few legal issues to be resolved that have crept up and they are at this time still sifting through the in and outs

Do you know who is involved? Do you still expect a deal to be done?

We dont seem to know much about the bidders or the other twenty eight or who showed an interset.

I wonder who they were and why they did not bid.

Most were probably fans who wanted to try it on. Apparently loads dropped out once we were relegated.

I think it's best anyone who has the names (& there are a few) keep them to themselves until the deal is complete.

Doggface,

Are you confident that the Pinnacle guys, if successful, will be OK for us.

Regards

I think that all the names should be out in the open so that we can trawl the internet to determine which yachts we should be tracking.

I also feel that it is imperative that we have some earlobe measurements so we can evaluate any potential new owners true suitability.

And I hope that they don`t wear short sleeved shirts with a tie. That would kill the whole thing for me!!

Where were these people 12 months ago, surely MLT didnt wait for the club to be on its knees before he got tried to save the club.

Morph,

If the pinnacle deal comes off I will be ecstatic based on what I know. That said actions speak louder than words & having suffered from cheap talk over the last few years sometimes it is best to see how things pan out over a period of time before casting full judgment. I fully expected an announcement on Thursday pm so until announced I am very nervous like us all. That said I know the saints staff were told to expect news on both thursday & friday, so surely we cannot be far away?!! I can say that if this comes off, the one thing that won't be lacking is fan support I can assure you.

I hope the group that finally pull off the great escape are the ones who were prepared to see it through!! they will be the group who will have designs to get us back to at least Championship football, then who knows!!! the fans will appreciate that!!
