Papa Shango Posted 23 May, 2009 Share Posted 23 May, 2009 When did this happen? Championship games on BBC? Awesome. They are only showing about 10 games. The rest are still on Sky.
CB Fry Posted 23 May, 2009 Share Posted 23 May, 2009 It is only ten games a season live. Annoying really because you'd think we'd probably have been on once. And I think its only the Carling Cup semis and final. But the highlights will be good - I bet they put the CCC goals on a loop on the red button every Sunday like they used to with the FA Cup, as well as a proper highlights prog. Shame I couldn't give two ****s about the CCC next season.

Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 23 May, 2009 Share Posted 23 May, 2009 The BBC is RUBBISH for coverage. I can't believe anyone who knows anything about football would like it. If you want to spoon fed cliché's and ridiculously contrived analysis then watch the BBC.

ITV - too many adverts and dreadful highlights package Sky - over hype everything, bland presenters and most often "one of the lads" ex-pros who provide little insight into the game. Flyer Posted 23 May, 2009 Share Posted 23 May, 2009 ITV would often not even show all the CCC goals, at least the BBC will do that. As long as we get a MOTD for the CCC, Ill be happy.

LeBenali Posted 24 May, 2009 Share Posted 24 May, 2009 and highlights of all football league will be online from bbc. Why do people seem to be ignoring this?! ALL Football League highlihts, i.e from Championship through to League 2, will be shown online. I'm presuming most people on this internet forum have internet access.... If you want to spoon fed cliché's and ridiculously contrived analysis then watch the BBC. What, and ITV are much better? 'The Championship' (programme) was absolute sh!te, we always got about 10 seconds at the end of the programme, with the commentator explaining the goal before it goes in and the score shown before the pathetic highlight (note the singular). BBC coverage of the CCC will be a marked improvement from ITV, shame we won't be in it.
hypochondriac Posted 24 May, 2009 Share Posted 24 May, 2009 What I hated was the "feature" game on ITV where they would talk to fans and then show the highlights in some arty way with strange camera angles. That was awful.

jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 26 May, 2009 Share Posted 26 May, 2009 The camera angles that ITV used were unbelievably bad. They also missed out a lot of the build up to the goals so the first bit you see was the ball going into the net. There is no way the BBC will be any worse it is impossible. I'm presuming most people on this internet forum have internet access.... err nope..... BBC have "territorial restrictions" which means that for many things, especially Football we almost foreigner types cannot access them.. At least our sat system over here (Showtime) showed SOME L1 games, and regular Championship stuff, hope they got one of the overseas rights packages for next season

stinhk Posted 26 May, 2009 Share Posted 26 May, 2009 when is realism going to kick in' date=' we are in the old division 3 next season if you see the goals on South at Six with Roger Johnston it will be a bonus.[/quote'] There is a growing disquiet among football fans across the country that the game is steadily being lost to us. So I propose the first step of any campaign to bring the game back to the fans should be to have the leagues renamed properly - Divisions 1 to 4. Let's all say it...We play in league division 3! SaintDonkey Posted 26 May, 2009 Share Posted 26 May, 2009 Should the title read, "No More Coverage."? I can change it, if you like. Considering how badly we seem to perform every time the cameras are present that might be a good thing!
dubai_phil Posted 26 May, 2009 Share Posted 26 May, 2009 Don't you guys connect to a Slingbox via family/Friends in UK? Oh if it was only that easy..... Don't forget our internet access is censored for sensitive political/cultural issues etc. Allegedly a system used to be available that worked with web sites giving the codes and connecting to a sat decoder which gave access to around 2,000 channels, but they block the web sites... And then well, then there is the good old bandwidth issue....

Blows the beeb and itv out the water. Agree that Sky is better than ITV but then that isn't hard. My main gripe with Sky is that too often their pundits are just the wooden ex-pro of whichever team is playing. They just say exactly what they see e.g. "Becks has put a lovely ball in their and rooney just managed to get his head to it and put it in the net" thanks but I'm watching the replay too and can already see exactly that. More often than not the beeb will tell you why the tactical battle was won/lost which I prefer. I think a lot of it is based on the personalities. I grant that Motty and Lawro could drive anyone up the wall but I still prefer them to Andy Gray who is such a ccok and Alan Smith could make scoring the winning goal in the world cup final seem a non-event.
