I met Jason Dodd (briefly) last night

Jason Dodd did the presentations for my lad's club over here on the dark side last night & we got to say a very brief hello and warn him that we were in a small minority over here.

There were several Poopey fans choking on their beers as their sons received awards from him and shook his hand, including one of my lad's teachers and one of his team-mates' father.

Some of the sk*tes refused to applaud him, too, even though he'd turned out in his own time to present the awards.

Still, a good night and good to see a flourishing club with about 15 teams from under 8 to under 18, full of keen young footballers. What it should be about

I have been wondering this for some time now, but what is Dodd actually doing now ?

I know he was a disaster as joint manager and out of his depth. But it always narked me that Saints had promoted the poor sod above his level and effectively ruined his career in football management before it really started.

Anyone know his whereabouts ?

I have alot of involvement in a local youth club in Fareham and we try, because the vast majority are skates, to get a ports*outh player each year, we never get an answer and when we ask both clubs for raffle prizes, Saints always send us something (signed ball and shirts) the skates sent us a letter saying if we brought the shirts they would try to get them signed.. how charming is that. This has always been the case over the last 6 years, they may be in the premier but Saints are way above in class and how they treat local clubs.

I find their lack of community spirit a bit odd since most of their imported players live in Whiteley and they have a store in Fareham's shopping centre so the players would only need to travel a couple of miles to turn up at a Fareham club or even sign a shirt to be given away.

the only thing the club have ever received from them was a 6x4 sign O'neal picture a few years ago. They are well know even by their own fans to be tightarsed when it comes to that sort of community thing. We've had ex skates before, Lee Bradbury lives in Fareham and was a fantastic bloke and 2 very old timers Ray Crawford and Keith Blackburn this year and they all gave their time and effort free of charge. When we request current players we are met with the "other commit" line
