I'd argue left back isn't stocked at all. Williams is a right back filling in on his wrong side and Maitland-Niles a very right footed midfielder who wants to leave Arsenal because they won't play him in his position. England's left back options start and end with the pretty average Ben Chillwell and Luke Shaw (assuming Danny Rose and Bertrand are no longer in contention). Unless they successfully convert Bukayo Saka (and he doesn't switch to Nigeria) or Ryan Sessegnon (who Mourinho doesn't consider as a viable forward player) into full time left backs, the cupboard looks bare for the foreseeable future. Step forward, Jake Vokins...

I'd argue he's not disciplined at all - and that's his biggest weakness. Positionally he's poor. If you want someone to track runners and/or hold the fort in front of the defence, he's not the guy for the job. If you want someone to hare around the park and wave his arms at the guys desperately trying to fill in for the huge chasms he's left behind as he loses the ball for the umpteenth time and can't be bothered to sprint back, Hojbjerg's your man.

Surprised no-one has mentioned Lloyd Kelly, seeing as how it was reported that Bournemouth beat us to his signing. Young, left sided CB. Injuries ruined the start of his Bournemouth career, but he was in the side and doing okay at the end of the season during their mini revival. I doubt we're interested in anyone from the relegated trio. The "cream" (Aarons, Lewis, Sarr, Doucoure, Ake, Cantwell) will go to big clubs, and the rest just aren't good value for money. Ryan Fraser on a free might be worth a punt, but that's about it.

The season can't run into July as standard contracts run out on June 30th. Anyone in the last year of their contract would immediately leave or join a new club (if they've already signed a pre-contract). It would be chaos on top of the current chaos. I don't see it restarting. The peak for the virus isn't predicted for another 10-14 weeks. If they're shutting down football now, how will they justify bringing it back when conditions are worsening? Unless some maverick scientist who's a loose cannon and doesn't play by the rules heroically discovers a vaccine in the next couple of months, saving the world - and his marriage - like a by-the-numbers Hollywood movie, we're in for the long haul folks. And now La Liga has shut down. A Juventus player - Rugani - has just tested positive. All his teammates and opponents he's been in contact with in the last fortnight are now at risk. Serie A has shut down. The Olympiacos chairman testing positive has led to the postponement of Arsenal's game yesterday (because they were exposed last week) and Wolves pleading (unsuccessfully - on their conscience be it) with UEFA to postpone their match in Greece today. To be fair, he was absolutely useless on all three goals. The third didn't matter, but his positioning was woeful - just gave Morata an easy tap in at the near post. Man United have three goalkeepers who would start for any top six side. Liverpool 2nd choice keeper wouldn't start for a top six Championship side. Don't feel sorry for them, though. Players. Tactics. We can't play with the ball. The opposition let us have it because they know A) we won't do anything with it and B) there's a good chance we'll turn it over in a dangerous area. Our away successes have come against sides who took the game to us, giving us chances to press and steal possession high up. Anyone who has gone direct or played cautiously and asked us to make the running has beaten us easily. We're so one dimensional it's not even funny. How many goals have we scored this season from what could be termed a good, flowing move? We profit from mistakes, ricochets, long balls and hustling. It's crap quality football. They're not poor at all - their attacking play is far more incisive and inventive than our cloggers can manage. They played Spurs off the park in midweek. They'll cause us loads of problems. The only thing in our favour is that Norwich like to pass the ball around at the back and through the midfield, so we might get some joy with our press. We were shocking when it was 11v11 anyway. Stuffed now. Apart from the keeper not a single player is on their game. Second best everywhere, slower, weaker. And Djenepo and Boufal's interventions that half were straight up unprofessional. The manager hasn't got a clue how to get this rabble to play against sides that don't want the ball - seems unlikely he's going to find the answer a man down. Red card and pen both correct decisions. The only complaint is that I think the ref has to look at replays in real speed. Ever foul looks extremely late and premeditated when slowed down - overruling his original decision based on an artificial reimagining of events doesn't sit right.
