You’ve got that one badly wrong. If we only get a draw on Tuesday and mange to avoid defeat on the last day we’ll finish above Huddersfield if they lose every game
-
If we win Tuesday we stay up. Even if we had won tonight the chances are we would still need to win on Tuesday
-
Indeed. A broken clock is wrong twice a day
-
Probably need to add West Ham in there due to their fixtures
-
Hoedt has to go. Bring Stephens back.
-
Did you see the car crash that was the 08/09 season?
-
You’re going a bit far there again. Like 14 other premier league clubs if our recruitment process let’s us down we’re in trouble..... I presume the same process that gave us Wanyama (who did get some stick I recall) and Mané has given us Lemina & Boufal (both of whom clearly have talent). It just hasn’t worked out.
-
When you consider all the players we’ve sold and who we have sold them to I don’t think for any other team outside the top 6 it would have been much different. Everyone in the PL outside that top 6 are always at risk of relegation, it doesn’t need much to go wrong. The main reason for relegation was sat on the bench/in the stands yesterday (Redmond, Boufal, Lemina, Carrillo, Gabbiadini). If all that lot come in and perform significantly below expectations trouble is inevitable......

9 points would be enough IMO. Irrelevant however, the last win of this season will turn out to be WBA away

Original press release, no mention of potential change http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11269881/sky-sports-announces-17-new-live-premier-league-matches-for-april Everything else was covered very thoroughly.

We’ve won one game in 17, there’s nothing to cling to.
-
I’d call that a place below. Adrift suggests something substantial needs to happen to get out of a situation. Until we’re in a position where we cannot get out of the bottom 3 in one round of matches I wouldn’t consider us adrift. I am by no means being complacent about things though
-
Ok So I make that us within 3 points of West Ham, Huddersfield & Stoke when we kick off at West Ham and clear of West Brom. We’re in the brown stuff without doubt and the manager has to go but we’re not going to be ‘adrift’ at kick off on 31st March
-
What games between now and then and what results do you think will leave us adrift?
-
Is there anyone on here who wanted Puel out who now regrets it??

No. The direction of travel was obvious. However, I didn’t think for one minute we’d hire the manager of a team who’d finished 9th in La Liga with no real pedigree other than that one season. Absolutely ridiculous decision and so it has proved. -
Important midweek matches starts tonight...

Indeed. He’s failed in all those games to get a win. Why on earth is he still here? -
I think they’ll give him the rest of the Xmas period. Nobody expects much from the next two games and we really have it all set up in our favour for the Palace game (extra day’s rest etc). Incidentally, we’d be less than impressed as supporters if we had to play Sunday, Tuesday while our opponents played Saturday, Tuesday. With the cup after I reckon the axe will fall if we don’t beat Palace.

I wonder if Bertrand will have a mysterious injury
-
He'll be back in July, be a pain in the neck all pre season and then wander off on loan to some middle of the road Italian or Spanish club.

If the 6th round draw is Chelsea or Man C away I'll feel a bit better.... Seriously, what was he playing at? It should have been exactly the same team as a league game -

Worst performance of the season. What MP was playing at though.... -
I think the main issue behind this is the fact that it was Clattenberg's first game at Goodison park in 6, yes 6 years. We don't have a good history with him and the club were unhappy with him being appointed as it looked like we were some sort of patsy in an attempt to get him back at Goodison park in a "low key" fixture. As it turned out there was some controversy and now we're trying to get him removed from our fixtures. Something I'm sure all saints supporters would like to see. Exactly the sort of thing SAF would've done and would have been allowed to get away with.

Sorry 4 points.
