We need a big strong leader at CB and a big strong leader in CM. I’d take Cahill
-
We need someone, like when Koeman came, who’s knows the European market well enough to tell them sh!thouses in the board room who he wants and respected enough to get them. Who that man is, I just don’t know anymore.
-
Ings was dreadful today. Not just in front of goal but his all round play Looked sloppy. On another day he bags 2 or 3 with the chances he had.
-
Difficult one. I don’t think we really need to replace JWP, we have a number of CM’s and tbh he’s simply not good enough. I’d rather we kept hold of Harrison Reed in all honesty but wouldn’t be upset if either left. We do however need a RW (id personally give Gabbi a run out there), so I guess it comes down to what you consider his best position. Talk of £25m is laughable really. If we got anything over £10-£15m for him I’d be surprised and very happy. Ridiculously overrated and would struggle to get in many championship teams imo.

What’s your tactical outlook for the game Sunday, Pep, m8?
-
Up their with one of the most arrogant and stupid posts I’ve seen on here I reckon. If you had anything worth it’s weight in terms of tactical knowledge, you know that there is no such thing as 1 formation. You have different formations at different phases of the game. I.e if you are to set up as a 433 with the ball, this potentially would come as a 451 without it, with the “wingers” dropping back to create a bank of 5. If anything, we actually set up as a 4231 with the ball, with 2 wide men, staying wide and pushing forward and ings finding himself dropping into more of a ‘10’. Of course you need to adapt how you set up the players you have. I.e you wouldn’t play JWP as a ‘right forward’ playing on the last man, as it’ll be completely pointless, to which point he is likely to drift inside and you would ask the full back to overlap create the width. Your obsession with JWP is a weird one. Their is honestly been nothing to suggest he is anywhere near being good enough to be a PL player.

I’d return to 4231 AM CS JV MY RB ML PEH NR SA ME DI
-
I think there will be... just. Next season will be the one where we drop
-
VvD will score, so will salah and Mane. I’d go 541 with long as a long striker just chasing everything McCarthy Cedric yoshida Vest Bertrand target Davis Romeu Lemina PEH Long Make the pitch very narrow and do not allow any space for salah / Mane to get in between our cb/fb Sit deep and make them break us down Hope for the best and take a 2/3-0 loss
-
Shove in the back as he is about to jump = Foul.
-
2/10 - should really be up by Watford considering who we’ve played. Just as poor as last season, big trouble again this season
-
Can you honestly say and believe that it was ‘never a pen’. One of the most stupid fouls in the box you will see, just shoved him to the ground in front of the ref, when he’d be looking to even things up.
-
Longs fault all day long, just stood and watched their most dangerous player run past him.
-
Textbook saints. As soon as it went 2-1 it was obvious they’d get a second. A shambles defensively from set plays.
-
Most obvious pen you will see all season. ****ing ridiculous by JWP, I hope the players let him know as well. I also hope it’s the last time I see the clown in a saints shirt.
-
Clearly related to, or ****ging JWP. Weird man.
-
Agree, imo he’s best when he picks the ball up deeper and runs at players. For me, he’s been unlucky to have played under to very negative, no risk, keep ball at all cost managers and it’s sucked all the life out of him. I’ve been very impressed from what I’ve seen this season (comparing to the Redmond of old) and you have to say fair play.
-
Anyone know who that ****ing idiot was? Wtf was he on about and what relevance does away ground not being full have on us expanding ours I think everyone was correctly miffed at this bloke. Getting absolute morons along like that, softens any / many valid points made that evening and sort of turns the whole thing into a joke. Also, if who asked that question is reading, please smarten up you scruffy sod.
-
Looool. Keeping the ball under control, whilst running at pace and beating a man (top level defenders) is arguably one of the hardest skills as a footballer.
-
What a signing this could prove to be...
-
Agree, credit to him and Hughes for playing 2 up top. Found the space in between their 2 banks of 4/5 and has that extra bit of pace we have been missing. Was dubious at first but if he continues like that I’ll eat my words. Only early days and fitness a massive concern, let’s see how this pans out.
-
It was very refreshing to see a manager with the tactical ability to change formation and make attacking substitutions. First 50/60 was as bad as I can remember, hopefully we learn that we cannot play a back 5. Credit to Ings, not his biggest fan, but he cane in and looked sharp and caused them problems. He found space inbetween the lines which is something we missed. Same with Elyounossi, who has to start LW next week. Shout out to Redmond who I thought was terrific today, the sort of performance we have been crying out for since he started with us.
-
He was, the poster is talking out of his arse. If I’m honest, he looks a great signing. I’m not all that disappointed as I really like the look of Armstrong as well, but if he (Maddison) continues playing like that, he’ll be in the England squad before the end of the year and will have the big boys looking at him.
-
I’d rather Sam Vokes. He’d offer something we don’t have, knees aren’t shot to bits and would have been a good replacement for Carrillo. If Ings gets over 5 goals this season I’ll be very surprised. If he’s still fit playing in 3/4 years I’ll be even more surprised.

Pretty much spot on with this mate.
