  1. Slow , uncreative, slow, indirect and slow. We're too easy to defend against. Tadic briefly improved things after half time and I still stand by what I said about him being the better choice over Davis or Ward-Prowse. Davis may be more consistent and our mister reliable but that is because he doesn't take the kind of risks that is required for that position. In the end though, the performance was frustrating and boring. On another note, I have to give credit to Watford when it's due. Their high pressing negated us entirely. I had hoped they would tire from playing at such a high intensity but their team looks fit, strong and more importantly, together. There was some impressive one touch direct football they were playing. If they can perform like that every week, I would expect them to be fighting for that 'best of the rest' spot.
  2. I don't think any one was happy to see him sign when he did. Whilst I wouldn't necesserily blame him for this, he certainly won't be the man that fixes the problem.
  3. Respectfully disagree.
  4. I agree with that logic however I don't believe anyone else in our sqaud can do any better. We could have done with someone fresh to compete with those three but as it is, there's nothing else. Putting players such as Davis, Ward-Prowse or Long there is putting players out of position.
  5. I understand they're all inconsistant. They are still our best players in those positions.
  6. I think that team can play brilliant on the pitch!
  7. Bench: McCarthy Stephens Ward-Prowse Davis Long Austin That first eleven with that strong bench (plus plenty more options in Hoijberg, Yoshida, Targett, Pied, McQueen and Sims) is capable of pushing top 6 IMO.
  8. Did anybody play well?
  9. We'll have to win the FA cup instead
  10. ****ing hell Saints!!!
  11. Charlie Austin is suprisingly fast!
  12. Apparently we took a reduced allocation for the game so tickets hard to come by.
  13. Surely one of the best scouts in world football. Tragic loss. RIP
  14. YES. Have some of that you song thieving ****s!!!
  15. The hilarious thing about the whole clappers thing is that it's basically the club acknowledging that our fans can't create a good atmosphere and are giving us a helping hand. Personally, I don't think it improves the atmosphere anyway.
  16. Charlie Austin: "I was going to his right for the pen, but then Noble said Hart knows where you are going, so I put it into the other side."
  17. Clearly needs a few games to get up to speed and form that chemistry with his team-mates but I very much liked his efforts trying to ping diagonals into the channels. It's another option for us going forward which is obviously a good thing. I'm sure we'll see him improve this season.
  18. That's what shin pads are for.
  19. Didn't think we played that well today but fortunately West Ham weren't looking too great either. Dominated the game throughout but still not taking chances and lapses in concentration at the back are costing us big time. Nearly screwed this one up agianst a team we should be finishing above. Hopefully a couple more signing will solve the remaining issues. Should have ran away with it today.
  20. Please please pretty please make the bus service into St. Mary's free for season ticket holders again!
  21. We haven't exactly spent buckets this window. Sign Vietto up permanent. He's a quality player and still very young! I have a fear of loan deals (with option to buy) after the Alderweireld fiasco. Just secure the player before everyone wants their signature.
  22. Or this...
  23. These pundits are nothing more than football fans at the end of the day -their opinions are little more informed than ours. That's why Adkins and Le Tissier support our stance and Jamie Redknapp and Jamie Carragher support Van Dijk's.
  24. Terrible if we're going to sale VVD. Lets him get his own way. The brat beat us.
  25. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/18932/10978801/virgil-van-dijk-certain-to-leave-southampton-this-summer-says-jamie-redknapp Thanks Jamie.
