  1. Seems only five minutes ago that most of you wanted puncheon hung drawn and quartered for wearing jeans and for coming inside all the time. Wonder if in the future Ramirez will be used as the yard stick for the next whipping boy?
  2. Crazy especially when there is always four or five minutes injury time. Hopefully One of these days we will grab a couple of last minute goals and these guys will miss out.
  3. We played some great stuff and just lacked that little cutting edge tans pace that Rodriguez has offered us all season. No biggie. Shaw and chambers have crossed the ball pretty well all season. Yesterday they didn't. Next week they will be better and we will perhaps win.
  4. pretty sure they said they would run at a loss in the first two years to be fair.
  5. Should he get a full England cap I wonder if the Echo will write articles about him as though SFC were instrumental in his rise to the top level?
  6. I'm still worried that our play off hopes are hanging by a thread
  7. Lallana will win it, but have Shaw, Davis and Cork had a single bad game between them all season? I think Fonte has perhaps only had one poor game too. Brilliant season for many players.
  8. getting Osvaldo off our wage bill will dictate who we can and can't bring in. I suspect that task will take all summer.
  9. is he? Personally I agree with Didi Hamman's opinion on him defensively.
  10. yet the shorts and shirt had the Hummel branding stitched in, making it far superior to the **** on offer these days.
  11. I quite like #sinkingfasterthantheirpier
  12. It seems a vast amount of money, especially compared to the cost of the stadium, but perhaps it is an essential asset to attract the best players and youngsters. The phrase `overspend' is used on the BBC website, I assume SFC used that terminology, which is different from `increase'. It feels as though Cortese is being blamed.
  13. The argument on here when the BVA loans were being discussed was that the transfer fees would be paid off within 12 months using the Prem/TV money. How much of that is still to be paid into our account? I guess the large chunk of Prem money will arrive after the final league table has been decided. It might be encouraging that KL has added funds, but slightly worrying that we were reliant on a £14m injection despite the huge increase in income last season.
  14. Motd tends to try and show chances from both teams, but it would a misrepresentation if they showed any Newcastle attacks at the expense of one of ours.
  15. Factor in that he was sung his weaker foot and that is some goal. The lad is on fire. He needs the World Cup to be next week.
  16. The whole team played well, but bloody hell, how good was Cork?
  17. Need to keep the fans we have and another rise might tip a few over the edge. We are getting to the £700 figure for wing tickets and that is a lot.
  18. The failure to sell out every week suggests prices are too high, but no chance of them being cut. I can't see why they can't stay the same.
  19. the skate news mentions that a high net worth board member was going to fund the wages outside of their existing budget. Wonder if he would have been paid back in shares?
  20. not sure this thread needs another Portsmyth, but I noticed on their Wikipedia page that they claim the record for number of season tickets sold in League 2 (10,000), despite that fact Bradford sold over 12,000 season tickets in the 2007/8 season, all be it at a discounted price.
  21. unlike this particular debate, the general election won't be focused on whether the country should be part of the EU or not. It does play in people's decision, but only a small part.
  22. grrr, my least favourite Saint of all time. You've probably all see this before, but just to compliment the fantastic images FF has posted you migth want to take a look at the 39 images on here http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/archive/1984-FA-Cup-fourth-round-Portsmouth-0-1-Southampton-special-unseen-pictures-of-Alan-Biley-Steve-Williams-Steve-Moran-and-co-plus-original-Daily-Mirror-match-reports-and-features-from-our-archive-article320745.html check out the Shilton joy. Fair play to the skates, they did pack the park that day. What a joy it must have been when Moran scored and each every skate had their dreams crushed.
  23. it felt like a slightly unfair fight, in that the European debate is Farage's specialist (and perhaps only) subject. I wondered how they would fair in an open debate. Perhaps Farage would be the one on the back foot. In this debate Farage's replies and arguments mostly felt very natural, whilst Clegg often fell back on very polished speeches and sound bites, which immediately made me switch off. Opposite opinions and good genuine arguments from knowledgeable people is interesting. Non stop 3 minutes political speeches, less so.
  24. Any idea who has come on to the pitch to celebrate and got a ticking off from the ref? It's a Patrick jacket so perhaps a sub?
  25. did the skates play any games whilst anonymous was caretaker last time?
