You realise Whelk and me aren't the same person, right? I'm the one that just thinks you are as thick as pigshit.
-
Who could have possibly foreseen this outcome. And, of course I was also correct about GM immediately wanking into a sock about it. Sometimes, too easy.
-
Why would we get "sucked into dreary relegation talk"? We are not going to be relegated. I can pretty much guarantee that if we lose on Sunday it will be the likes of you twatting on about how we are still in the relegation mix. There's some weirdos on this forum with you being one of the main ones.
-
Don't see it now, I'm afraid. I'm sure we will have another nice little run but we're just too inconsistent and squad to thin to do enough to finish seventh (which isn't guaranteed Europe anyway). We're 8 points off seventh (which is quite a lot to overhaul) but more importantly there are too many other clubs in the mix. I don't think we are going to overhaul all of them.
-
God knows what you're babbling about. Tomorrow's match is pretty inconsequential whatever you say. Obviously it doesn't mean that people here don't want us to win, thats just a fiction you've constructed in your own head. But for people to describe tomorrow's match as important is wrong. It's not important. I've been following Saints for 30plus years and we've played lots of games and guess what? A handful were "important".

Lovely stuff.
-
Definitely getting relegated now, lads.
-
Salisu making a debut in a strong team so okay with that. Let's hope his debut is more Minamino than Jankewitz. We've gone for it in the team selection so all good with me. Come on Saints.
-
Jesus wept. We need about 6 points from 16 games. We are not going to be relegated.

Life is pretty tough for young people these days, sweetheart.
-
"Started out with nothing". Okay then.

There's a few on this forum that espouse the view that getting knocked out of cups as soon as possible, not getting into Europe yet, not achieving anything yet is some magic secret that then turns us into some mega team in some indefinite point in the future. That we gradually gradually gradually eventually get to a point where we are permitted to win a trophy or get into Europe. Even though it doesn't work like that for any club our size. Call me crazy but how about we win something as soon as we possibly can?
-
As I say, depressing. Getting excited about Premier League place money and the theoretical concept of buying three players not two players is a more appealing concept than our club actually winning the FA Cup in a few months time? Honestly it is an absolutely mental way to think.
-
To just blindly think we can't win the club so let's fuck it all off just so we can finish, like, tenth is such an utterly depressing mindset. "Extra income". Extra fucking income. Someone book the open top bus. Extra income for what? To have the funds for maybe finishing ninth in the following season (as long as we get knocked out of the cups early enough because we can't win them of course). Fucking depressing way to look at our club. A cup winning side would be heroes for a generation in our city. But, hey, extra income. Gee.
-
Why is the cup game "a free hit" but our remaining 16 league games aren't? Our league games from here on in are completely inconsequential. Thursday's match is our only current match with anything riding on it at all.
-
Exactly. I want to win the cup because I want us to win a cup.
-
We should be putting out as strong a team as we can and be trying to progress in the competition. The league season is going to peter away to nothing but we are not going down so the cup is what we have left. Wolves not easy but they are having as drab a time as we are. I'd be fine with some changes from yesterday of course: Forster in goal no problem.
-
Yeah but Steve Bruce got all the luck yesterday apparently, what with going down to nine men for half an entire half. The gods were definitely smiling on flukey old "rub-of-the-green" Steve Bruce. The cards just fell perfectly for him the jammy bastard. He'll never get that winning of combination of luck like that again, thats for sure.
-
Five shorts on target for an entire half versus 10 then 9 men and all you can do is blubber about how unlucky we were. Absolutely pathetic.
-
Sorry, nonsense. We were playing 10 and then 9 men of an injury ravaged side. We should being doing slightly better than whining about the fact that we managed to hit the post once and oh its so unfortunate why didn't that one shot go in. Only on this forum can a team go down to nine men with defenders crocked and the other team is portrayed as the hard done by party. As I said, insane.
-
They had a an injury crisis, we played against nine men for half the second half, and against ten for the other half of it. The goals we conceded, especially their third, were entirely due to our own mistakes. Absolutely insane that anyone can take away from that match that we were the hard-done-by victims yesterday.
-
We'll get 40 points no problem so shut up you dopey tart.
-
If nothing else it showed that a Steve Bruce Newcastle would not lose nine-nil. They knew what to do when up against it, rather than capitulate.
-
Absolutely pathetic. If it was other way round, we'd have lost 6-2 and it would be all the excuses about we were down to nine men and it was raining and what do you expect. Fucking pathetic.
