  1. Just someone dull and easy at home. Be nice to go on another decent cup run, but hopefully we will be in the semis of one competition by then anyway.
  2. So not your expectations but some other people's expectations that you've decided they had. Not you, you're clever, just them others. And you're one of those "realists" who thinks our season would be better if we had lost a few more matches. So what is the "realist's" view? 6 less points than now? 9? 12? What would be the ideal? Do let us know.
  3. Harrison Reed quickly acquiring Gaston levels of mythical game-changing ability on this forum. Guess we might just see soon.
  4. If your expectations were raised to an unrealistic level, then that is nobody's fault but yours. What good "losing some games early on" would have done god only knows.
  5. You could protest really effectively by taking out a second subscription but never using it. That'll show 'em.
  6. This. Let's stop beating ourselves up about not having a 24 man squad of top quality top 6 superstars. We haven't, we never will have, ever, get over it.
  7. What does this even mean? We might be down to fifth or sixth, or even seventh? That's 'curtains' is it?
  8. Losing to Arsenal is the kind of thing Arsenal would do so don't worry about it, we'll finish fourth anyway or something.
  9. There's your match winner coming on right there.
  10. No he doesn't. Just his little comedy troll routine. The same joke, every day or so, for about seven years.
  11. Pure comedy gold. You is so funny. How do you do it?
  12. Aggressors of the uniform plane.
  13. What would you call a team who specialise in beating only the worst teams?
  14. I loved the Getty centre, it's just lovely. But too far out and would swallow up your entire day. Basically forget I suggested it. Santa Monica is a much better idea.

The "cold hard skinny" is we will never be a true top four team. We might finish top four this season, it's still unlikely, but possible. Either way, we are never going to do it regularly. Get used to it. You might be supporting the wrong team if all you want to do is bundle out the excellent players that worked hard to get us to the position we are now in. There are other teams to fulfil your all-killer no-filler squad requirements. That Chelsea look pretty good. Check em out. Top four, like, all the time and that.
  16. The perfect crime. In that world Mark Lawrenson is a SFC hero with his "Saints will lose" motivational articles. Probably worth a statue outside SMS.
  17. Interesting you got the same idea I had from the reams of gushing coverage I've seen, read and heard too. Not noticed all the stories designed to destabilise us, then? Me neither.
  18. We will never be "ready for it" any better than now. If we get it next season, in either comp, great. It will almost inevitably impact our league form - we can't expect to fight on that many fronts and not suffer. A European adventure and mid table Prem sounds okay to me. With our resources and approach, expecting Euro football every season is pretty fanciful. Take it when it comes.
  19. That's always the risk when we have a Steve Wigley standard manager.
  20. I blame the kit, how about you?

SFC will never have a team of pure top 4 talent. Get used to it. If we get into the top 4 this season it will be down to the likes of Davis busting their balls to oblivion to achieve it.
  22. They just cannot wait for us to lose. Or something.
  23. Just looking for Pompey related Ebola news and notice this forum's very own Fitzhugh Fella has managed to completely mug himself off by trying to pretend PFC's agent fees were higher than Burnley's. Whoops. Let's stick to laughing at the facts shall we.
  24. Not sure that would help him get into character, Bear. The "Paul Merson" we all adore is built on the relentless attention to detail to achieve that bloke-in-the-pub know - nothing persona. I'd say it takes a heck of effort to avoid that much information when so much is out there in today's multimedia world. If anything the man should be applauded.
