  1. We might not have a choice. I think £20m is a fair price. The fact is we paid too much for Osvaldo & Ramirez if we indeed paid £15m (in hindsight of course). I don't think the club will be actively looking to sell but if Lallana puts in a transfer request it will be hard to keep him. If a club of our size wishes it's players to commit to long contracts in order to guarantee receiving large transfer fees then it has to be seen to be fair when players reach a certain level & wish to leave. I will be gutted though if it happens but won't begrudge him his opportunity.
  2. I think Lallana will leave this summer. I'd imagine we'll get around 20M. As much as I'd love him to stay I think the time is right for him to move on, he's 25 as good as he's going to get & deserves to play for one of the big four. I'd imagine he has a release clause in his contract. I wouldn't begrudge him a move. It makes no sense selling Shaw though. He has a lot of improving to do & his value will only rise. I don't think Shaw wants to leave at the moment.
  3. McCarthy has played mainly at right back but has started to be used at Centre Back as well. He'll get more opportunities now Stephens is out on loan. Not sure of the formation today. I agree Chambers has massive potential. I think he could end up back in midfield where he has played mainly (prior to this season). He has so much drive & energy for such a big lad. Great time to be a Saints fan.
  4. Plus the £10M will be including "Add On's" I wouldn't be surprised to see either Clyne or Chambers leave (for the right money) as I hear U21's McCarthy & Youngs are both highly rated by Saints staff. McCarthy may be converted to a Centre Back though.
  5. Wilfred bony would be a good signing
  6. Topless barmaids?
  7. Come on GM..Come on!
  8. Plucky little Sunderland taking on mighty Southampton. Inevitable really.
  9. We've got our club back!
  10. Elm Street perhaps?
  11. Good to have a bit of humour injected into the debate to go with all the vitriol. I'm surprised we haven't had Hitler's reaction to the news yet..
  12. Apparently the new training complex is proceeding at "breath-taking speed" How dare she want a say in the running of her own business. Has Sibley been sacked yet?
  13. Golac is the best I've seen by some distance. But Golac arrived as an experienced international, Clyne is still improving.
  14. Congratulations!
  15. Brighton away would be good, probably get Birmingham or Leicester at home.
  16. Mark Wright for Fonte- Lovren & Wright - how classy would that be Steve Williams for Wanyama Matt Le Tissier for JRod
  17. Remember the old days when the award was sponsored by Bells and the recipient would be presented with a huge bottle of whiskey.
  18. 37 - A bit of a hipster apparently, I'll take that.
  19. Their business in my opinion. Smoking won't effect their performance in their younger years, it will catch up with them later in life though though. Socrates (Brazil) & Cruyff (Holland) two great footballing smokers.
  20. worth taking the time to read that article
  21. I think he could play a "Brett Ormerod" type role when required, but I'll be surprised if he makes more than a handful of appearances from the bench. Good luck to him though.
  22. Equal with Phil Boyer in the value stakes, How fast have those 200 games gone by, Saints Legend.
  23. Great photo lifeintheslowlane, any more?
  24. They would have but a match that was live on sky on a Sunday was never going to sell out. It appears that the person responsible for deciding the amount of away tickets to have doesn't know their business & is therefore over cautious. Liverpool away is always a popular trip. Some communication with supporters would help.
  25. Joiners Arms worth a visit
