I spoke to a few Swindon fans at a service station after the game and they said they were shocked at how bad we were,they were expecting us to turn them over. Before the game lallana was ponpointed as the danger man by them,but after the game they couldn't undertstand why he is so highly rated and why he is wanted by the 'bigger' clubs. Says it all really.

I'd agree with this,waiting until Christmas before panicking is silly.....we could already be down by then. Tbh I have been panicking about the fate of saints for the last 4 or 5 years. I am fully behind pardew but if he continues in his stubborn,non tactical mode then I won't be for too much longer.

...and Like the players I wish I never bothered. That had to be one of the most tactically inept displays I have ever seen. Either pardew is trying to prove a point to the owners to try and force them to spend a few more quid or he really is useless. We were outplayed,out fought and bullied.we couldn't deal with the numerous balls into our box and looked weak. On a plus point we had the best warmed up subs I have ever seen,they spent the whole game and halftime warming up. It was almost if pardew was happy to defend a 1-0 loss,not even one tactical tweak even when it was obvious that we were struggling. Kelvin - I bet he wishes he signed for the hammers. James - not one pass to another yellow shirt,looked sluggish. Thomas - big hoof all game,didn't look comfortable. Lancashire - not good enough,looked lost. Harding - not his best game Lallana - easily beaten,too many runs across the pitch that amounted to nothing. Morgan - a few glimpses but not convincing. Wotton - made a couple of early mistakes and didn't want the ball after that. Patterson - spent too much time out of the game,looked frustrated. Lambert - lazy display,not commanding at all for a big bloke. I won't judge the new lad or the subs as it wouldn't be fair. This is a a game we should be looking to win but we simply aren't good enough,pardew already looks a beaten man,he seems lost and like he doesn't know what to do to turn it around during the match.....these are things I don't want to be saying so early on in the season but the lack of fight in the players and lack of tactics needs to be addressed. Even with 2 more signings I don't think we will be good enough.

MLT never set out with the intention of harming the club or the fans,to presume he did is ludicrous,he like many others (many on here) got sucked into believing that they were the real deal,perhaps he is guilty of not doing some basic checks on these people,but you have to cast your minds back a couple of months and remember how desperate we all were looking for a saviour and Matty was no different. He wanted the club to be safe and the pinnacle lot knew this and took advantage,this is how confidence tricksters get away with millions of pounds everyday of the week. Going back to the OP about expectations,every fan at every club expect more than the club can deliver,even Manu and Chelsea fans want more,if they win the league then they expect more,they want to be European champions. Every year for the last 40 years I expect saints to do well but it doesn't mean I'm going to get it,even last season I expected a play off place even though at the back of my mind I knew it wasn't going to happen..........this doesn't make me an over expectant idiot,it just makes me a fan. If the club expect me to be a loyal fan that puts up with any sh1t,then it is only fair that I should expect the club to do well.

Sounded like the midfield was pretty non existant today so that will have to be fixed before we can progress. I know it is only early but 1 point from a possible 6 is not very good for a team in our position,we need to erase that -10 points asap otherwise it will become a mental barrier. Even if we didn't have the -10 at the beginning of the season we would be struggling. I expect pardew to address any problems and I am confident it will come good sooner rather than later. Looking forward to Swindon.come on you red and White machine.

In the last couple of weeks (probably more out of frustration than anything else) about the lack of activity in the transfer Market and the need for urgency.I did also criticise lallana on Saturday,although I felt it justified......but I have to hold my hands up and give praise where it is due,the 3 signings by pardew (murty,Harding and lambert) have really impressed and I feel a lot more confident about the season than I did before Saturday. Lallana was a lot lot better last night and showed exactly what he is capable of,my only gripe about him last night was that on a couple of occasions he gave up on balls that he probably could have got to but that is just a fitness thing I suspect. Well done pardew,well done the lads,come on you saints.

Perhaps the signing of lambert has changed his mind?....perhaps he realises we are going places and he wants to be a part of it.

He looked lively tonight before and after he came on,I also noticed he was in good spirits,messing about and having a laugh at half time and also whilst warming up.....so he could be happy to stay,wether or not he is wanted is another question.

The police have improved then,when I was 12 I got a good kicking from half a dozen police for just walking down hill lane with a flag......what I would have given back then to be told to hide in a bush. The lad will probably grow up like me,no respect or no cooperation for the police.....I wish them all the ills in the world ,fookin mugs.

A little bird tells me that the Pompey fans had trouble recognizing any of their players against rangers on Saturday,he also told me that the rangers fans outnumbered the pompey fans,seeing as rangers sold their full allocation of 5k that is pretty poor for a prem club. To be outnumbered by the away fans.....now that is pedigree.

We have been so battered by dissapointment over the last few years that the atmosphere is pretty sh1t most of the time. This coupled with we havnt really got any decent songs......other teams have a decent signature chant that is usually intimidating.....we havnt and we need one.

He was my player of the season until he left,I would love it if he did come back but I doubt he would.

What game were you watching? He definatly didn't get stuck in,he jumped out of tackles and pulled his foot out of at least 1 tackle.he was too easily pushed off of the ball and spent a lot of time on the deck,after losing the ball and getting pushed over,rather than jumping quickly to his feet and chasing to get the ball back he just stayed down and the play moved off. Perhaps my standards are too high,and I expect too much from him but if I was pardew I would have to think long and hard about his best position and how he can be used more effectively.

Agree,we havnt had a fit squad since strachan left.

Saga did a lot of off the ball work today and won a lot in the air but he tends to dive a lot when he doesn't need to,he did it a couple of times yesterday looking for the free kick when he would have been better off staying on his feet.
