  1. tbh i dont think its pro lowe Vs anti lowe fans fighting each other its fans who slag the team off Vs fans who would rather wait until after the game. personally im all for letting the players know you are not happy during the game and i will fight any fvcker :-)
  2. good point made by dave armstrong today..... when the club is doing well the supporters are treated as customers to be milked for as much as possible, when the club is in strife (now) we are asked to be fans and get behind the team.................they cant have it both ways im afraid.
  3. kaka wants to save a league club, basically giving his £70mil signing on fee to a league club in a lottery style draw. no prem club is allowed to enter and neither are the last 3 relegated clubs from the prem. what are our chances? would it be enough? and do we deserve it? source - my sick mind..........its just for fun:-)
  4. would we all be saying the same if we were in man city's shoes? the whole thing is perverse,in the same way as princess diana visiting starving, dying kids in africa wearing a £20k dress, but would we all care if it was us wearing the dress ? if you know what i mean:-)
  5. exactly, without debt the country would come to a standstill, everybody needs to be in debt for the fnancial institutions to operate, they have got us all by the balls. 30 years ago virtually everybody in the land was paid in cash, cash in hand, little brown pay envelopes filled with cash.....but the banks didnt like it, the government didnt like it, so we had BACS forced upon us,ok this made things easier and safer for employers but it also made the banks extremely rich and the government were able to keep tabs on us all. in those days cash was king, these days debt is king. this is why we are in a mess today.....the banks have lost confidence in lending to each other, the customers (us) have lost confidence in the banks. when the banks eventually grow a set of balls again they will want their profits up again, the only way they can bring back the good times for themselves is to get us in more debt than we have ever been in.....no lessons will be learnt, they will be rich and so will we but the difference is we will have to pay through the nose to be rich. for a football club to be the best in the world they have to pay the best transfer fees and the best wages even if they go into debt to do it......it will all end in tears.....just ask leeds fans.
  6. i think the same things were being said in 1979 when brian clough paid £999,999 (double the previous record) for trevor francis. the country was in financial ruins then, millions were jobless and the poor were a lot poorer than they are now. life goes on,if man city are stupid enough to pay vast amounts for a player then let them get on with it. football will not be ruined by it as it was ruined years ago,the days of players wanting to play football for footballing reasons ended in the early 90's and it will never ever go back.
  7. if we lose on saturday and JP doesnt get the boot then that will probably be the breaking point for me. as it said in yesterdays echo,6 of the managers of the bottom 8 teams have lost their jobs,if we lose and jp is still here on monday i will have to seriously have to think about giving my support a rest for a while..........until the next home game anyway;-)
  8. another player that left too early imo. he could have done with another year/18 months with us but the ££ flashed in his eyes. you cant blame the young players for wanting to earn good money, after all we would all do the same, but they have to weigh up their long term earning potential against their short term gain.
  9. sorry but nothig like 'my mate says'... it actually came from a current bournemouth player (first team).
  10. one player being unfit is p1ss poor imo, after all they get paid more than enough to be athletes who should be at peak fitness.the only exception to this should be injury or coming back from an injury.
  11. i used to run the shop on the sports centre during the strachan era and the players were always jogging around the place for hours, strachan being the front runner.
  12. i think the sand thing already happened the other day as they were filmed jogging along the beach.
  13. true, but it is a bit of an embarrassment that our great facilities, admired by europe cannot produce a fitter player than a small team down the road who jog up and down the local park.
  14. just spoke to somebody who is heavily involved at bournemouth and was told that jake thomsons fitness levels are rubbish,he has been struggling to keep up with the bournemouth lads and looks well off the pace. didnt we have the same accusations aimed at us when kenwyne joined sunderland?
  15. if it makes you feel better i will eat my words at the end of the loan transfer deadline. i did state that surman was staying and lallana was going, but if im wrong,im wrong,i can only pass on what i get told, sometimes i dont even do that as some the info i get isnt worthy of a mention. i have found that the nature of inside info is either red hot or just plain ******,just like the media/tabloids they sometimes get caught out, just ask some of the posters on here, past and present who got sucked in by the whole 'takeover' thing. relax and decide on an individual basis what you wish to believe, without the gossip and itk's this forum would be like a deaf and dumb convention in a library.............very quiet.
  16. i think you have to look at the bigger picture, people are not happy for many reasons.... relegation, the league we are in,where we are in the league, the players we have sold since relegation, lack of money,lowe/wilde/crouch merry-go-round etc etc etc etc.this coupled with the fact we are only half way through the current window and we still might lose some players.
  17. i attended the opening night of letissiers/osmans nightclub and went outside to give a mate who was running late his entry ticket,on going outside i noticed that there was a crowd of fans gathered looking for autographs,i had a pen and book thrust into my hand and was asked for my autograph.......surpised i asked the fan who he thought i was??? he replied 'neil heaney' i laughed and told him he was wrong but he wouldnt have it so i made the mistake of signing his book, this led to about another 20 people wanting my autograph so i duly obliged, even signing my own name. if any of you are one of those fans then i do apologise:-)
  18. didnt they start the ball rolling in 76?,i believe the preferred site was the 'toys r us/west quay' site or the lido/pirellis site for us old boys:-). then i believe there was talk of turning the dell around, swallowing up the church and the flats on the corner of archers road.the stoneham proposal was always going to be a difficult one as it incorporated some green belt land that the eastleigh residents saw as a boundry which seperated their independance from southampton.
  19. in the late 80's early 90's (cant remember exactly) i trained with brockenhurst and ian turner was manager(or assistant?),a mate of mine played for them and i was invited along for a couple of trial games, a mixture of A and B team players playing each other with ian turner in goal on the opposite team to me......i came on for the second half and ended up scoring against him,not a bad goal if i must say :-),it dawned on me after the game that i had achieved something the 1976 man utd cup team had failed to do.:-) i didnt get the gig but ian was down to earth and was a nice bloke with a good sense of humour.
  20. my source at the echo told me over the weekend that they have been alerted to a possible signing this week but as it was a bit vague and no names were mentioned i didnt bother posting it on here,so perhaps something is happening.
  21. ....before changing the manager? im guessing that if lowe would want a change he would wait until after the transfer window closes so the new man coming in will know that he is unable to buy any players and would have to work with what we have available, maybe just topping up the squad with a loan or two? a donny win on saturday will make them 1 point better off with a game in hand,so im also guessing that anything other than a win for us on saturday will speed JP's departure.
  22. correct, reuben did run the pub in the park. i also used to sit and chat with alan shearer on the bus when i was about 17 he must of been about 14-15,i was working in town and used to get the bus in the morning, alan used to get on a few stops later and sometimes i would talk to him. i knew he was a saints trainee as he got off at the dell but it wasnt until a couple of years later that i realised it was him.he was a very quiet lad and seemed a bit shy tbh.
  23. jim steele used to keep himself fit in the summer by working with my old man,he used to come round our house and he used to give us comps for the home games.jim is a great bloke and is still in contact with the old man today. i used to hang around with dennis wise when he was a lad as he lived with my mate,he was a nutter then and he is a nutter now, spent a few nights out in london with him and stayed at his mum and dads house in shepherds bush. reuben agboola is a good friend,i first met him through wisey but later on i used to drink in his pub, mark dennis was a frequent visitor and i also got to know him as well, both great blokes with some great stories.
  24. we have only had three decent managers imo bigmac,nicholl,strachs.....ball was ok as he got the best out of matty but the rest can go and kiss my ringpiece.
  25. did orville have anything to say about it?:-)
