  1. Lets just remember the few days leading up to the 8th last year shall we.That horrendous Failka interview on Sky, the complete collapse of the Pinnacle bid, and the few days of feeling that unless Fry could revive the Swiss bid we were in real danger of going out of business, just how were you feeling? I know I was getting desperate & feeling like that's it all over. Thankfully ML & NC came back to the table & today we are able to celebrate his 1st anniversary in charge of us, as we as a club enter our 125th season. So for whatever reason ML decided to take a punt on us, I for one will always be eternally grateful that you did. If that's sycophantic nonsense then so be it. So a big THANKS MARCUS & NICOLA
  2. Good news day today then quality RB in so the defence is now sorted out. Well done to AP & NC doing a very professional job in keeping this one quite once again. Charlton fans are gutted which is always a good sign.
  3. What I want is a manager with the Balls to pick just 1 from Gerrard & Lamphard pick players who aren't injured, pick players who play in their positions week in week out, try picking strikers who actually know where the net is. Try making a team instead of 11 super stars(at least in their own minds). I got fed up of them saying today that there were only a couple of Germans would make our team. Trouble is they were a complete team, not a bunch over priced, over paid primer dona's. So in response yes I'd rather see the younger players given a go, & maybe the likes of Ricky Lambert from the lower leagues given a go, the so called golden era has resulted in nothing but disappointment, & under-achievement! So what do we really have to loose by trying something radical.
  4. Well just in from a family Barby, that was a a pathetic performance. The players were awful today the manager if he had any shred of pride would offer his resignation. We have a team of stars that get into the team because of their reputation, what we need is someone to make tough decision's on the likes of Gerrard & Lamphard PICK players in their correct position, & lets make a team. Its not rocket science. & What the F**k was that IDIOT Capello thinking of we were 3-1 down & he starts warming up F**KING HESKY what a retard, why oh why did he not give Crouch a chance a real chance. Rooney has been W**k all tournament, the full backs were just plain awful today Johnson & Cole were out of position for 2 of the goals. This whole campaign has been a complete shambles, from start to finish. They should make the useless C**ts come home by bus & Boat. Yet again we take unfit partially injured & out of form players. Then there is Emile Heskey, not his fault he is put in this position (that is down to Capello) the bloke just offers nothing nothing at all, that is why Martin O'Neil doesn't play him for Villa. I just don't know where we go from here, God I wish we had a Brian Clough who could build a team not a group of eleven of stars. Try Picking players in there proper position's & pick strikers who actually score goals. Quite frankly this has been such a poor tournament that I can remember, yes we've had disappointing results in years gone by but this whole world cup has been appalling. Rant Over
  5. Strange one this, can't see any real reason that NP would want to go to Hull? Unless he's got an uneasy relationship with Mandric. All the football arguments seem to say stay at Leicester, as they are a bigger club, they have a bigger fan base, they will be expected to be in the mix for promotion/play-off's again next year. While Hull are in financial turmoil, & who knows what will happen up there next season. As for the argument about AP over NP, who knows what NP might have achieved here, that's all water under the bridge. I think they are pretty much on a par & both good managers, hopefully we will be locking horns with NP in the not to distant future.
  6. Good news for me got a wedding to go to at 3.0pm (very poor organisation). So a good performance by the Saints to set our stall out & 3-points to kick off the season. Hopefully lay a few hoodoo's & then off for a good afternoon & night celebrating, also a wedding to go to as well .
  7. Good news if true, looked close to getting back to the player we know he can be last year, when deputising for Davis. I can see him taking the No:-1 place from Davis in the next year or so! Good back up at the moment.
  8. I've no doubt that Android will fiddle the figures to push through the CVA today & claim its all done & dusted. However if I remember correctly at the last court case HMRC reserved the right to question the amount of debt that Chainrai claimed. they will almost definitely contest the CVA & his figures, they also have the SOA to find the point in time before AA took over. Also lets not forget the football creditors case to come. No matter what AA says today, he has history as Swindon Town know, there is a lot more to happen yet. Been on night's so just off to Bed now, so will miss most of the fun today enjoy! Will catch up later. GO HMRC
  9. So as we expected HMRC appear to have rejected the CVA, where does that leave Android now? He thinks that the 35-million that HMRC are claiming & therefore above the 25% they need to stop the CVA, is incorrect. can he just go with the figures he claims gives them a mere 21%, & then try to rail-road through the CVA if he gets enough support. Thereby leaving HMRC the 21-day cooling off period to challenge him in court. Or does he have to go back to court to challenge the HMRC's claim, something he really doesn't want to do, as this would lead to him having to proove where the 138-million has come from. With the SOA being given as a legal document by the club some months ago to the courts. Seems to me whatever the result Thursday it still has a few weeks & at least 1 more trip to court to run yet.
  10. Oh please SES get real, this is just a clever cover story for AA as he is about to announce to the creditors that if they agree the CVA on Thursday. Then on Friday they announce the new manager............ what price Riquelme as player manager? You know it makes sense WHO told us so many months ago.
  11. Seems to be a good signing, welcome to Saints Ryan. The club appear to be having a real dig in Calderon's agent's direction, in other words behave professionally in buisness dealings with us or your out of here good to see IMHO. AP building a good looking squad, good competition at L/B. Just need a good R/B in now and a central midfielder.
  12. I suppose it depends on you view of a viable buisness, if your from the blue few its creating a situation where you pay the absolute minimum to creditors. And then provide another expensive team (£10,000 a week wages) to try to gain promotion once again. But the Administrator should be working to get as much money back for creditors, but still leaving a club (buisness) capable of living within its means that is what I thought the administrator is supposed to do. If he can't do that then it is his job to then liquidate the buisness So either way it should leave "the best fans in the world" a massive cash pot to run the club when they sell out Krap Notarf week in week out......................................Oh!
  13. Has to be said there does seem to be a bit more hated towards us now, seems to have come with the nationalistic way that Wales, Scotland have been going in the last 10/20 years. Wales re-introduced their language & the both having their own governments etc. I always used to support the home nations but the way they come across supporting ABE has made me want to hate them back, but when you have mates who are Scottish I just can't hate them would make me as bad as them. I just take the p**s back, because lets face it they always mess up & give us plenty of opportunity. The likes of Andy Murray has compounded it & shown what a bell-end he is.
  14. Precisely! that is what the blue few seem to forget, they've got so caught up in the Chainrai AA nonsense, & their belief that they can get something for nothing over the past few years. That the very idea that they should actually pay for something aka the griffin proposal is just so ridiculous to them.
  15. Attitude will be vital, we have to be able to grind out results on cabbage patch pitches, & the team will need to have the right mental attitude to the likes of Rochdale at home as when going to Sheff Wed away. Respect every single team, week in week out, & we will need to show some guile & patience especially at home. Do all that & the skill of the team should then shine through.
  16. Hope its Antonio followed by Jonny Mullins
  17. They are doing my head in mindless droning Buzz like 50,000 bloody bees around your head bunch of halfwits. What's the betting someone starts selling them over here for next season? Have to hope they get banned over here.
  18. Do we drop him? Everyone makes mistakes, & it never seems to effect Heskey??? removing him may well destroy him like Robinson who is only just coming through it now. But can we afford another costly blunder like that. I think that Capello was in a quandary over his No:-1 & probably will make a change. I'd have to say I'd make a change. Capello will probably go for the experience of James but I'd like to see Hart given the backing as he's been by far the best keeper this season, & can make this his position for many years to come.
  19. It was a disappointing result however not unexpected. We still have the same questions about Gerrard & Lampard both being a similar type of player, they are both good attacking, but neither are a true holding midfielder. As for Robert Green I backed him for this game & although he made a good save 2nd half I think he should be dropped after the horrendous error last night. Now I'm one of the biggest critics of Hesky & although he did an OK job last night, he still did his usual pathetic miss which has cost us once again. He did nothing last night that Crouch wouldn't have done, but crouch probably would have stuck that chance away. Capello has gone all conservative on us when the chips are down, I'd like us to go for it. This will be a slightly revolutionary team but a better balanced one. - - - - - - Hart Johnson - Dawson - Terry - A.Cole Lennon (Lampsrd or Gerrard) Barry J.Cole - - - -Crouch - - - Rooney I'd go for Hart as its about time we picked on form he has been the best keeper this season. & has all the potential to become our No:-1 for a long time to come. probably radical but I'd go for a proper holding midfielder in Barry I'd keep Lennon in & go with Joe Cole Left wing. If he stays 4-4-2 then we just simply have to go with Crouch up front with Rooney. Or alternatively you go 1 up front - - - - - - - Hart Johnson - Dawson - Terry - A.Cole Lennon - Lamphard - Barry - J.Cole - - - - - Gerrard - - - - - - - - -Rooney
  20. I think its the way it should be, & proving good buisness practice. Look at the Alan Pardew Announcement, no one expected that, & it was received with a mostly positive response. how would it have been received if Cortese been hawking round the media saying we were trying to get Keegan or Shearer in. Would have been a different response I'd say! Anyone remember the Hoddle Fiasco, Sturrock may just may have stood a chance if everyone thought he was first choice? May have made no difference but he was on a looser from the off.
  21. OOh get at them 4-pages on another clubs kit enough said. :smt039
  22. Shirt looks really good & the badge looks a whole lot better on the shirt. Looks less like a red nose or a lolly pop. Well done Saints. Will definitely be getting one.
  23. Splash the cash & get your sash! special purchase price of only a £1 per year + the non optional booking fee of £3 per shirt.
  24. Hope its not true about Antonio, I really hope we get him back as I think he can grow into a great player long term. Would be extremely disappointed if he went to Charlton.
  25. So someone else bought an ex-player of ours, Prutton is an average journeyman who has failed to get above the mediocre. Now he may well prove a good signing for Brighton, but no great loss to us. AP & NC have done a pretty decent job in the transfer market so far for us, & I think a little patience will see us get the signings in that we need.
