Considering that the most successful period the Labour Party has had during the last 50 years was under the stewardship of that old Tory-lite chap Blair, some bleary-eyed harking back to golden era of socialist values in wholly misplaced. The Labour Party have never governed through a solid socialist agenda in the modern world, and never will. "Traditional" Labour may have worked when the vast majority of workers had minimal rights, there was no NHS or welfare state and the masses were denied the basics of life. And whilst isolated incidents of injustice still exist (and cause "traditional value" lefties to boil their own p!ss) the majority of people simply do not have to worry about a roof over their head, being killed at work and having no grub on the table. The Labour Party need to win / claw back from others about 2 and a half million votes. They won't get that from the Kippers, or the Picts who will don their facepaint and bang their drums until they get their freedom. They have to do it from the Tories and they can't get that with a set of "principles" that deny those voters the rewards from their hard graft. Electing Corbyn will see them in freefall for the next 10 years.

I'm sure they have traded tips on that very subject, although on those figures, Blair is in another league altogether, a paltry 100k is mere shrapnel in his pocket. His hugely lavish business expenses reduce his declared profit and his subsequent contribution to HM Treasury through Corporation Tax. Well played Tony.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/tony-blair/11337856/How-Tony-Blair-Inc-spent-57-million-in-four-years.html Seems Our Tone has a taste for the high life, particularly when conducting his international business affairs which should not be subject to too much scrutiny in case they throw up examples of backhanders or favourable contract awards within the realms of Tony Blair plc, allegedly. He could be said to make Hairy ****flapps look like Mother Teresa. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/tony-blair/11547808/Revealed-how-Tony-Blair-makes-his-millions.html I wonder how much Tax he has avoided since leaving No 10?

Quite a blow. I think he's a good player who did well when he came in last season. Hope the recovery goes well.

Who's country is this? You were just born here! You're just lucky!

He is a rather "ranty" young chap, isn't he. I tried to watch it through to the end, but he was starting to frighten the cats. Nothing a stint in the Army wouldn't iron out in him. -
The Relegation Prognostication and the Promotion Locomotion.
Special K replied to SNSUN's topic in The Saints
I think the 3 promoted teams will go straight back down as I don't think they are / will be strong enough. It wouldn't surprise me to see them along with Villa, Sunderland, Leicester and 1 or 2 others who aren't expected to struggle but surprisingly do, in a battle for the drop. Who will go up? It's a very difficult league to predict. Before last season I certainly wouldn't have put money on Bournemouth winning the league, but if i had to this season, I'm with you in backing Middlesbrough and I think Burnley and Derby will go up with them. -
Not strictly true as there are fluctuating cost clauses in most construction contracts where a base date is set and costs are assessed upon fluctuating levies, indices, etc, with the most common being the BCIS indices of construction cost increases. And it is not unusual at the moment to have this provision. We won a job recently where the start was delayed by 4 months and we applied the forecast BCIS to the contract sum which increased by over 2%, which shows the amount of "heat" in the marketplace at the moment. We also tendered a 2 year project and wouldn't fix the cost for the last 18 months of the build. And there could be any number of reasons why a project is "over budget", none of which are caused by poor tendering, although granted, the Public Sector have a fine record for general ineptitude when it comes to construction projects and budget control.

Think so, stug. Will be a big old challenge, but fun too.

Wow!! Best of luck with that - serious stuff!

Schneiderlin Joins Manchester United (Official)
Special K replied to Bewildered's topic in The Saints
He had developed into a very, very good player and is a player who can play at the highest level. It is a good move for him and we have had 7 terrific years from him. I think the club can feel very proud they have developed (IMHO) a genuine world class talent who is coming into the prime of his playing career - just a shame it's not with us. All the best mush, except against us. -
Why don't you f**k off back to your own forum. The only thing more childish than arguing over "who is a bigger club" is going onto another teams forum to justify it. There are enough bellends on this forum, but they are our bellends so not half as bad as a bellend from outside.

Nice timing that, what with the 7/7 bombing victims remembered today. Well done.

As "evidence" that I think he's a c**t! No - he's quite capable of convincing me he's one anyway. I was just pointing out that others think that too. You may like him and that's cool. But I think he's a c**t. Simple.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/russell-brands-insult-tunisia-beach-6001941 No, he is a prize c**t - even the Mirror agrees.

It's all about enjoyment anyway. I got persuaded into cycling about 10 years ago by some mates who were keen cyclists and started off "training" initially for some charity cycle rides. My first ride got me to the top of the Avenue before i fell off as I was blowing out of my arse so badly! But with encouragement, I was up to about 20 miles in a month and within 4 months I did my first 100 miler. The best thing I found at the time was to get set up properly (riding position) by someone who knows what they are doing and also learning how to breathe efficiently - obvious as it sounds, it was a struggle to start with, but you get into a rhythm and then it's about improvement - well that's what I found anyway. There are some impressive riding stats on this thread and it's rekindling an interest in me to dust off the old road bike (haven't cycled for about 4 years). A mate has suggested a ride from London to Barcelona as a target for a couple of years time, so may have to get out again and work towards that.

Same here. IMO, potentially a good player who could benefit from our style of play. Would like to see him here.

Dare say they wouldn't give too much away on their website, but there are some sizeable investors involved. Hopefully it's not BS!

The royal Pier development was held up for years by the Crown Estates refusal to deal the land, either as a JV or by way of a sale. They have finally relented. The Council have been after development here for years and it is certainly not their fault when they have procrastination by landlords. Hopefully, it will be a terrific development that will add hugely to the City. I think it is a bit choice to say that there is nothing to do in the City apart from go shopping. There is a decent arts scene, about to get better with the new arts quarter, there are plenty of places to eat, drink and dance, decent theatre, lovely open spaces, close proximity to the sea and the forest as well as some half decent music. But ultimately, what makes a place are the people. Perhaps the City is better of without those whose glass is half empty.

I travel regularly on the Pompey to Caen / Le Havre Ferry and have never seen anything remotely resembling what is happening in Calais.

Rate him highly. Would like to see him on a permanent deal. Plenty to offer with the right coaching and oppertunities

The Scots weatherbird on Breakfast news appears to have a big set of bangers. There could be a warm front coming in soon. In fact most weatherbirds would be cracking in the buff. I'm sure the fellas would oblige too, for the ladies, like. Actually, thinking abut it a bit more, Fiona Bruce and Katie Derham would be my top choices.

Welcome Fella! Look forward to seeing you finding the onion bag many times next season.
