That is a good point that is often missed. Southampton has two major hospitals, 32 GP Practices and 90 schools, not to mention the housing, which are not being built around the country every 12 months to keep up. It is a simplistic measure, but is worth considering.

https://fullfact.org/health/clash-manifestos-nhs-staffing/ Not really in relation to staffing, but it seems as though there are questions as to whether the increase in numbers has kept pace with increases in demands and population during the same time.

Well said. We'd miss his goals and all round effort. He's been excellent for us since he signed and getting over 15 goals in his first season proved he was a bargain for the money we paid for him.

Can we PAY Arsenal/Tottenham to take Wanyama away from us?

Victor was having a bloody good game until he went a bit reckless. He's been pretty good this season but just need to work on his decision making. Rather he was here than elsewhere. -
Saints v West Ham Build Up - Game now Saturday 6th Feb 1730
Special K replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
I can see some of the big lads playing to try and get a nut on a windswept high ball. Carroll for them and Pelle for us. I think we will win the midfield battle, but with plenty of rain, and Clattenburg with his hand on the red card, mistimed tackles could get the better of some. Hopefully not Big Vic. Should be a cracking game. Looking forward to this one. -
What exactly is this supposed to mean, especially in relation to the rest of your post? Or was it an example of the "sweeping generalisation" that you so disliked in your previous post? If you are trying to make a confused point about who should determine salaries in the private sector, then you are mistakenly comparing a Union (entirely reliant upon it's members for its existence) with a private company who trade. I cannot see a comparison at all. I shall go away and have a Sherman with my swastika glove to try and find some enlightenment.

You'd thing with all the money they get, they could afford a decent pair of strides, FFS. And socks.

He seems to have lost his marbles. On the link there was a further link to another meltdown he had against Nick Ferrari later on. He needs to have a quiet word with himself.

No. It used to be The White Swan. Great pub, played cricket for them a few times. Now it is OK, branded as a sports bar. Expensive pint too! But most convenient for the game on Saturday as it is only a 9 iron from the theatre.

Mary had a little skirt, With a slit right up the front. Every time she moved her legs, You could see her ........................... forgot the ending.

Yes, he was a superb DJ and his show was excellent. The Janet and John stories were fabulous. Very sad, as from the tributes paid by so many, he seemed like a genuinely funny, decent guy.

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
Special K replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Which could have been for any reason at all, with the most likely motivation being, "how can we help identify people entitled to our services". In the grand scheme of ideas that haven't proved to be that good upon reflection, it isn't up there with invading Iraq, selling off state owned gold reserves for **** all or electing Ed Miliband. -

Policy implemented. Policy criticised. Policy dropped. Move on, nothing to see here..... -
3 clean sheets is excellent for a returning keeper. The defence and defensive midfielders have much more confidence in the big keeper and this shows in their play. Yes, they are playing better, but in no small way is that due to Forster returning between the sticks.

Davis is a big loss. He was linking up really well with Claisie, Romeu and Wanyama in the last couple. This 3-4-2-1 formation may get a bit tested today, but I think RK has got the measure of LVG. Saints to edge it 1-2.
-
He has improved steadily and last night showed his quality with aggression, good tackling, good closing and decent passing . That performance is bound to give him more confidence and, barring injury, he will be a key player for the rest of the season.

Saints have £12.7m bid for Stefano Sturaro rejected by Juventus
Special K replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Agreed. We need players that can make an instant impact and the chances of that are better taken with those who are currently playing PL football. Not to say someone from a foreign league wont, but they are far less likely too, imho. -
Gary Monk. Not my choice but PL experienced, used to formation, young, maliable, english, technical, works under a DoF. Board would see a good fit. Money on before end of January.

Something mildly amusing in that one of them lives in a street called White Hart Lane. How he must hate going home every day, the gormless ***t.

He's the leader of a major (!) political party. His failings are supposed to be exposed. And if he's due a hard time, then he should get one. Same as any party leader. Just because you and your mate have a love in with him doesn't mean he's due any special treatment from the media at large.

Talk of Steven Naismith going to Norwich the other day. Would be a good signing, PL ready, proven "pain-in-the-@rse" opposition player and can score goals. Floats about a bit like Mane and would be better than someone from a European league no-one has heard of and has a 2 minute clip of general ****** on youtube.

So, Corbyn wants to reshuffle and get rid of shadow cabinet members who don't agree with him - how very Thatcherite! But then he backs down as he hasn't got the backbone to see it through. Lose, lose all round. Well done Jezza!
-
Strange how for two seasons we've lost form after the last international of the year, which is the time RK goes on a break? Don't go on holiday RK!
-
It was annoying that Spurs didn't have to play well to win - it was a canter for them. We started off well, but if we don't go 2 up inside 30 mins, then we lose focus and concentration and concede silly goals. As obvious as it sounds, we have no confidence past that "arc" of play around the opposition penalty box and have no-one who is willing to leather an effort on goal from outside the box, even just to show some intent.
