It’s a bit strange that Ralph keeps talking up the possibility of signing broja., surely it’s gonna build disappointment in the fan base with his comments if he doesn’t stay. Fingers crossed there is something in it

Quite frustrating this broja situation. ralph lauds him in interviews like we pulled off some massive coup but at the end of the day he’s not our player. surely we must have had some talks and know by now if we have any chance of getting him permanently ? if not I think banging in a bid for delap could be a good alternative.. I think broja is the real deal for what it’s worth but at the same time I’m not really happy to just develop another’s clubs player

Another angle is maybe we can offer him more money then he’s currently on at Chelsea ?? chelsea signed him on a five year deal right.. but as a kid he’s probably not on top money yet. we could come in and offer him 80-90 k a week ?

If ever there was a time to break our transfer record and show some ambition this is it,, this guy could be vvd good imo. Ralph’s comments are going to get a lot of hopes up so I really hope he can do everything possible to convince the new owners broja needs to be signed

#1 priority should be do everything we can to get broja permanently if Chelsea are not budging let’s get delap mcatee also looks good for our approach 2 out of these three would be a very good window

Agree on the first part I thought stuey was killing them before the sending off he’s so much more creative and intelligent then our other number tens. valery still a liability and changed what should of been a walkover into a hard slog. he gets a lot of stick but thought long was brilliant in extra time such a pain for tired defenders got his goal and was causing loads of problems

Mcatee came on for city and looked class, Cole palmer brilliant so definitely not against going for these city youngsters.. although would still much prefer we went all out on broja .. looks a bit unlikely we sign another keeper or why would we extend cabbalero ?

Must say I’m very impressed with rasmus seems an extremely switched on guy and also a brilliant speaker.. would be nice if he is quite hands on after listening to him.. why did he leave Brentford again.?

I’d have really liked to see how it played out had he been left to it pretty sure poch would have stayed longer and it would have been interesting to see how nic would handled players like lallana Morgan etc wanting out.. I just think nc kind of saw the club as his after it was practically him that built it up and kat was more interested in taking it back with intention to sell ?

I’m astonished really.. cortese persuaded Marcus to buy the club for a poxy 25 mil around and had risen the value to probably around 200m by the time he left Marcus had complete trust in the man. He found pochetino from nowhere, put amazing scouts in place like Paul allen took us up 2 divisions and improving all the time yet the guy gets treated like satan here for not even spending that much tbh.

It’s not so much about expecting.but I’d of liked someone with a lot of ambition in control of our club so give me a cortèse, a red bull or Arab takeover all day long.. cortese once said you “when you sell your best players you sell your ambition” under senmens we have a man who wants us to be a shop window for young players- a 2022 Rupert Lowe basically I don’t get why everyone is that impressed by him

I mean the way senmens was speaking before about there being many offers but about finding the right one just makes me think maybe he had a lot of power in the decision and now it looks the case he will remain in control

Cynical but I get the feeling senmens idea of finding the right buyer, was to find one who lets senmens stay in control..: must say the deal doesn’t sound that exciting to me..

Yeah it’s unlikely but if they do come back in for tino which is quite possible it would give us a chance to cut some sort of deal on broja possibly. would be good if this relationship with Chelsea continues they have a pool of good young talent now and our dealings with them have been great just a shame broja move couldn’t have been a perm

Yeah maybe, I just think it’s a little strange the way he looks like he believes in a youngster just to suddenly turn cold on them so fast. im not really obsessed with playing kids myself anyway unless they are exceptional talents . the vast majority of great players we brought through as kids looked the business from a early age think of the likes of bale/Walcott/shaw/le tiss/shearer/bridge all of them came in and looked great from the get go

Also a lot of Ralph’s treatment of the youngsters has been questionable, gave valery a run and loaned out Cedric, then next season Cedric back and valery completely out of favour. obafemi had a run of looking like he was gonna break through again all of a sudden out in the cold again, now we have tella who looked like breaking through last season but up until recently again same thing .. jankiewics also didn’t get any chance after the Man Utd horror show.. we can question if these youngsters were good enough but Ralph’s treatment seems a bit random

He cost 35 m because he was with bought from us with about 2 years left on his contract.. let’s not rewrite history koeman brought in mainly players from the unfashionable Dutch league.they were unproven in the prem and ended up bargains

But still you’ve got to factor in when koeman arrived we had just lost 3 of our best players. Lallana lambert and lovren were absolutely brilliant for us.. was no easy task for koeman but somehow he used his knowledge of the Dutch league transfer market and took us to the next level.. imigine that instead of of signing mane tadic pelle and Toby/vvd we signed che Walcott djenepo and salisu.. doubt we would have replicated the success and a lot of this has to be credited to koeman. although I do appreciate the board has a lot of say on transfers and it’s not just completely down to the manager, but koeman felt more like a manager and not a coach it worked brilliantly imo

I agree with you even though it seems not many do.. heres the thing a lot of excuses being thrown around like the club not backing him or Ralph not having much money to spend. but really if you look at the job koeman did at a time after we had lost talisman like players in lallana,lambert lovren etc, koeman didn’t spend a lot either similar 12-15m average players that Ralph gets. But koeman targeted the positions to strengthen brought in players he knew could do a job there like pelle, tadic etc and he had us looking like pushing for champions league .. we look nowhere near that under Ralph, losers like redmond still getting game time while if you were a manager with half a brain you would be focusing on strengthening these positions and redmond Walcott etc would be backups at best.. The other thing with Ralph is his treatment of our youngsters is very strange to say the least. We had valery thrown in at right back (even though he wasn’t great) whilst Cedric got put out on loan, only for next season he goes back to preferring Cedric, obafemi then got a good amount of games only to be isolated after. And now it seems tella is going the same way .

I disagree, redmond elyounoussi and Walcott are all poor.. but Ralph and the club have done little to address it.. we do have better options that are not starting, the likes of tella or livremento playing in the ten positions (livramento in front of kwp) also could be a lot more exciting, S Armstrong is way better too is he fit enough to be starting or does Ralph prefer the others? Then you have Ralph even shoehorning his love child redmond in as a striker over the likes of che and arma.. as for koeman he didn’t spend insane amounts when here either. He had to replace talisman like players like lallana and lambert and lovren but using his knowledge of Dutch league we ended up way stronger with pelle tadic Toby/vvd etc. he did an absolutely superb job here is Ralph even in the same league ?

Honestly I think I’d still make a change, there’s some great options out there atm.. the likes of koeman or nuno would be a huge upgrade. a couple of wins against poor opposition seems to be getting a load of overreaction that Ralph is now great again.. but how many premiership wins have we had since January ? do you really want to see the likes of redmond elyounoussi and Walcott playing every week ? It’s depressing seeing these team selections under Ralph and the football isn’t great either

Yeah I mean obviously that was a extreme example and I’m not directly comparing jwp to xavi, but like mosin says above a good passer like xavi who can play it also neat and tidy works a lot better if his passes go to the likes of Messi ronaldinho iniesta etc who can carry the ball . Probably wouldn’t work so well if your passing to other players who also play the simple pass or to Redmond djenepo etc. i just think maybe jwp doesn’t really help us that much barring setpieces compared to say if we had a doucoure in midfield

I kind of agree with a lot of this, one thing I’m starting to think is maybe jwp doesn’t really suit us as a player.. yes he’s a exceptional free kick taker but that aside really for me he’s just a neat and tidy player with a decent work rate, it’s very very rare he completely bosses a game that has some huge impact in our results. for example xavi was amazing for Spain and barca with his tidy passing but he had pace and creativity all round him so it worked a treat jwp can be neat and tidy but if the players he pass to do nothing with it how does it help us? maybe having some brick shit house midfielders who can physically dominate the opposition would be more beneficial for us as a team ?

I get the comparison with long actually ,Redmond is kind of the winger version of long both have this uncanny knack of making a dogs dinner of what ever good chances or positions they find themselves in. the chance where Redmond was put through was him in a nutshell makes the usual taking to many touches mistake finds himself in trouble and completely messes things up then has his default annoying look of shock and exasperation on his face. i actually really can’t stand this player, even those who say he is inconsistent are wrong you know exactly what your gonna get with him every game-him making things as hard as possible through stupidity and slow thinking and stupid face expressions after he does that 🤬
