  1. Good point. Shouldn't they be writing for the Sun
  2. The first post. Thanks, bye.
  3. Shouldn't the title be; "Saints not keen on stadium expansion unless we sell out every match for a prolonged period"? You should be writing headlines for the Sun. And for what it's worth, I totally agree with this approach - we need to focus on the existing experience, make it more attractive to sell out all areas first.
  4. Jesus Christ - why is this forum full of absolute nutters? What are you like at home? I'm sure half of you are bi-polar. A player linked with a club, shock. It happens, it happened a lot over the summer, it'll keep happening a lot the better we do. It's no big deal.
  5. Think that's a bit unfair. He's still done nothing wrong and is ending his epic journey of a career at his hometown club - he probably would like to play more, but I'm sure he's still just buzzing to be there, involved and on the bench with the odd appearance.
  6. God that's scary!! It was great, but it was past it, many many decades past it. The Le Tiss goal against Arsenal will live with me forever in terms of atmosphere, absolutely superb!
  7. Out of interest, do you work in Liverpool? I work in London and all the "Liverpool fans" appear to either be foreign or have mostly never been to a football match in their lives.
  8. Who made that horrendous video?
  9. Good news! It's about time we had another statue out the front (as has been said, the smile with the camera is how most of us picture him) and/or the Academy/training ground being named after him would be great! Is it still called Staplewood? That has no relevance as far as I know.
  10. As has been said, it looks like Lovren excels with a proper leader next to him. Fonte obviously did that job really well and perhaps he's even better than we realised in that respect. He certainly made Yoshida step up in the opening couple of games too. I think Liverpool still need that Carragher type who can control the defence and let Lovren do a job of "defending" rather than leading. Christ, some people on here wanted him to captain Saints ... he would have folded, delicate flower.
  11. Is that Robertson? He is good, I wondered if he was someone we looked at! And discounted or were rejected by.
  12. Like the guy already, think he's class and is actually very different to Rickie. What does make me chuckle is the fact that he is considerably better than Osvaldo ... class goal against Man City aside.
  13. Yep, I saw it there - thought it was wrong
  14. I was surprised to see the attendance was only 27,500?? Didn't look *that* empty to me!?
  15. He was awesome, but he seems to have found another level this time. Goals help too!!
  16. Newcastle are utterly horrendous - with those players (some are pretty damn good), Pardew is doing an attrocious job. Pellé excellent though, as are Tadic and Long.
  17. Edit; . not needed now .
  18. WTF? How did that happen?
  19. If they bugger off (fingers crossed), do we get a new bank holiday to celebrate?
  20. That's the problem now - if they vote 'no', then all of a sudden, they'll start up a new campaign for a new vote and all the while, Westminster will be bending over backwards to give them the world free, while the rets of us pay for it ...
  21. Hah! No, I have only been there once, when I first moved to the area - just remembered you were from here that's all! Agree with what you're saying as well. I now have no argument to come back with
  22. *sigh* Of course it's been that recent. 1. Because the media have suddenly jumped all over it so you need to know how to answer, if asked 2. Because the analysis has just been finalised, or even re-finalised just in case they weren't happy (and that has happened) 3. Tell you all too early and you forget what to say, so tell you nearer the time and you can answer I work at the other end, generally not last to know - Jaxx, let's chat (Okay I haven't been there since 2009 and at 38, it'd be weird, but it still amuses me)
  23. "Hull, non est gravius quam Portesmue" (according to Google Translate to Latin)
  24. hahaha, yes, the Tower existed when I was at uni there (94-98), was a dump! The best club was Spiders, not because of the music, but it was proper chilled out and the fact you could get cocktails full of all sorts of shots and crap for a quid. 4 of those and you were pretty much done. Probably illegal now, sigh. I think it may have been the Tower that did the rounds and bought going off beer and flogged it for 20p/pint. My memory is hazy ... Edit: Beverley is really nice VFTT! Lovely place. I resided in Cottingham, that's a nice part too!
  25. haha, Hull isn't *that* bad. I went to Uni there, it's not actually a terrible city and it's certainly no worse than Portsmouth or other places of that ilk in this country.
