  1. Have to say that this Olympics has been absolutely stunning! I think the last one I really enjoyed was Barca 1992 with Linford Christie and probably in Sydney 2000 with Sir Steve getting his gold. This one really does feel to have been truly special; I'm not sure if it's because Team GB have been so successful or because the BBC have done a cracking job, but I really have been glued to the TV 24/7 and working from home for the last 2 weeks has enabled me to tune in to the medal winning moments in between working. I went last Thursday to the swimming and the Olympic Park was absolutely amazing too - such a good atmosphere - I really do wish my normal commute to London was that cheerful, I think the normal commuters can learn a lot from the Olympic visitors who have enjoyed everything, including (it appears) the rammed tubes!! Stunning Olympics, so well organised, security (army at the park) brilliant (airport staff can learn a lot from these guys!!), park amazing, venues amazing, BBC really good and Team GB absolutely fantastic ... I honestly think I'll never see GB win that many medals again in my lifetime, amazing!
  2. It might rain, it might snow, it might hail. But it also might be so hot that your legs melt. Who knows! It's a naff friendly, I think the best thing to do is drink a lot and have a laugh - then come on the forum and moan about how sh*t the team are.
  3. I'd watch (her, not you) ...
  4. You may or may not have a message on email. Additionally; top 3 crisps; 1. Walkers Tomato Sauce 2. Salt and Vinegar Discos 3. Chilli Doritos
  5. My company must be extremely relaxed then, I book my own hotels and flights of my own choosing - have stayed in some lovely hotels and always fly BA through choice - often upgraded (easier as a single traveller). Plus I get shed loads of food and booze allowance each day ... maybe I do have it good after all!
  6. Skype is free though? Skype to Skype anyway, so what's the problem? Most hotels do free wi-fi and even those that don't, you'll be able to find somewhere to bung a headset on, use their wifi (on phone or laptop etc) and speak. But why can't you claim your wifi back anyway? I always claim mine back as I am there for work and it's a cost I wouldn't normally incur. Just a tip - make sure you do all your proper phone calls before you go out on the p*ss each night Text later on "good night" etc then enjoy the evening uninterrupted. Always take a gift back, no matter how big or small and remember that when you admit to going out on the smash, it's to "take your team out" etc., and it's a chore Oh yeah, when you get back as she'll probably feel like you've "been away" and she hasn't, make sure you do a meal out or something on the Friday or Saturday!
  7. You are TOTALLY on your own, it is not a good design, it is not visually pleasing, usable, responsive or fluid enough - it is extremely poor. It just smacks of a typical design agency guff - all "pretty" (and it isn't even that) and not enough engineering and usability. It's guff.
  8. Welcome to 2008. Is that you Tommi-short-sleeved-shirt?
  9. Haven't noticed it used, not like in Rugby anyway!
  10. Think this is a good idea. Football has SO much to learn from Rugby and Hockey and so on. Goal line technology - yes Video reply/3rd eye - yes Sin bin - yes Move the free kick 10 yards for back chat - yes Captains only talking to the ref - yes Respect for the ref - yes It wouldn't detract from the sport, it would just make it more modern, to go with their modern equipment and modern fitness regimes!
  11. Undecided about it. From a client-side engineering perspective, it seems a bit bulky and slow and not overly responsive or fluid enough - i.e. I don't think it's overly "current". It should also be designed with the mobile/tablet market in mind, which it doesn't seem to be and any of the juicy information is below the screen fold. So while it's a lot better than the last one, it's not very web 3.0 and is an opportunity wasted for whoever dreamt up that template. It strikes me as too "design agency"/marketing and less proper "engineering" really.

  13. Can I claim that one?
  14. I've just got this f***ing gem in an email, I mean seriously, speak in English please; "If so lets stack rank our asks (from a leakage perspective) and then we can discuss"
  15. Ah thanks Turdish, so that's like West Ham calling Saints, Stains then. haha, how funny!
  16. What is 'Wet Spam" and what league do they play in?
  17. I hate low cost carriers with a passion. I only ever fly BA.
  18. I know it's all tongue in cheek London really is my favourite city on the world, but, I can't stand it really - I can't wait to leave every day to get home to the Hampshire countryside, it's far too much, but then, I'm not 23 anymore!
  19. This is brilliant! I would love the MP3 version - anyone know how to get hold of one?
  20. Well said! There are no words for those that are saying that it is a bad thing. Let's not forget, 2 years ago, Saints were starting in League One, 2 months ago Saints got promoted - to be even linked with a player of that calibre is extremely flattering, although complete madness as I sincerely doubt it will happen.
  21. What a tw*t. I'm a Conservative (though centre), loved it, awesome!
  22. That was absolutely amazing! Danny Boyle is a genius! Those that know me, know I'm straight down the line. I'm a Manager, black and white, sort it out and deliver, if not, why not. However, I wish I was more artistic sometimes, Danny Boyle's talent is unquestionable, amazing! I loved the history "lesson", I loved the music, I loved the Queen interlude, Mr Bean, everything - utterly utterly gob-smacked, it was genius! I am very very very proud to be British this year, what with the Jubilee and now this, amazing! Nothing more I want to say really, love it.
  23. Echo this comment! If people are so bored/annoyed/anti the world's most amazing sporting event is in this country then they are very sad. It won't ever come here again in our lifetime, probably another hundred years or so. It seems to me that watching morons on TV who are complaining are exactly those that were REALLY crap at sport at school and have a huge chip on their shoulders. Just bloody enjoy it, or as you say, leave the country for 2 weeks!
  24. Spot on I'd say! Far too many women trying to be blokes, far far too many. Have to agree with other posts as well, most Southern women are a pain in the backside with most being far too stuck-up and pretentious. I married someone from the midlands, not with a stupid accent though, that was important - but her and her friends are all more "normal", a good laugh, normal jobs, dress well and aren't stuck up or trying to be blokes. But when I was last single, I totally agree with you, it was very difficult to find those decent, balanced women.
