  1. That is hilarious. What a heap of sh*t.
  2. Weirdly I agree with this. The 'great escape' of 98/99 was a genuinely decent season in the second half - great days out. 'Delhurst' and the final match against Everton were superb. Can't believe it was 20 years ago though FFS.
  3. I know you're not a naive bloke, but it's easy to think of two even bigger examples straight away who signed 5 year contracts and then left their clubs shortly after; Suarez and Countinho. In fact Suarez was "delighted to have secured a LONG TERM future with Liverpool" before leaving 6 months later. They're all helmets.
  4. I wouldn't say no. He's still only 24, although it feels like he's been around forever - proven experience at this level, could get a couple of decent years out of him and still sell him at his prime for more than that. Definitely a Saints-style signing.
  5. Trouble is, having been in those pubs you mention on a non-match day, they were completely dead. Not even students, let alone locals. People going to pubs now (not on a match day) expect food and non-stabby locals staring at them.
  6. Not generous enough. 1000/1 would be worth a pound, but even then, I would be feeling that I'm giving the bookies £1.
  7. Not in this league at this level. He is NOT Premier League standard.
  8. Stephens is NOT a Premier League player.
  9. S****horpe is great. My ex's family were from there and I bought her Grandad a S****horpe season ticket - it's a great little ground. The town is 'interesting' - personally I'd give that a go over the rest. Just avoid pubs on the nearby estates and stick the centre, it's fine.
  10. Yes. Certain people are obsessed with possession - RH has already said (rightly), he doesn't care about that. Which I love. Whilst Pochettino was great for Saints, sometimes his style of "keeping the ball so the opponent doesn't has it" was infuriating to watch. Sometimes wonderful, sometimes the sideways passing of 2 yards was ridiculous. By forcing the opposition to pass around themselves until they're exhausted of ideas and make a mistake, when we do get the ball, we know what to do and what positions to be in. RH is a genius and sadly we all know the 'top 6' will be watching him like a hawk. I just hope he wants to see what he can do longer term with a smaller club ...
  11. To be fair, the team has a target of 40 points. When (if) they reach that, of course they'll down tools. Either that or they'll destroy Huddersfield on the last day 8-0 ... Saints are weird, always have been. Love them.
  12. I hope it was a proper whack and not any handbags crap. Who are these dickheads either passing tickets on or buying them for others that aren't Saints? Happens every year in every Man Utd/Liverpool match, but do people never f**king learn? "Hi I need a ticket for a mate, he can't go cos blah blah blah" C**ts.
  13. Absolutely. And anyone sticking up for Gallagher; sorry, but he's not a Premier League footballer. He's better than we all are at football, granted, but I think we've seen his level; which is lower than Saints are at.
  14. Agree that whoever comes up, will be sh*t.
  15. Earned it? Earned it how? You massive helmet.
  16. It will hopefully make them even more determined to make the next squad!
  17. Definite penalty. He made his body "larger" by using his arms, back turned or not, hand ball.
  18. To be honest, I have a moral issue with betting companies being plastered all over football shirts; it can be addictive for some and it can a real issue - I know people who lives were ruined by betting. But aside from that, betting sponsor logos always look cheap. Would love a retro sponsor like Draper Tools again, on a decent retro shirt - 80s.
  19. This season is another weird one. Personally I think this mob led by this manager will have just about enough to stay up THIS season. Next season, if this promised summer revamp doesn't happen with some decent money spent, we'll do down.
  20. Absolutely agree with this. I want to watch enjoyable football, with youngsters coming through, backed up by some older pros that still care - almost in the 80s/90s "Saints way". I don't want us to be spending over the odds and recruiting mercenaries, and I don't really care where we finish, as long as we regularly give the big teams a bloody nose, get the odd cup final and maybe win one. The odd European tour would be nice too As for Stephens, he made one mistake, but he has improved under the new manager. However at 25 he's old enough not to be youth and man up to his mistake and not do it again.
