  1. http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/flat-track-bully He's right.
  2. I concede that (about 7th), but I still think he'll keep his job - can I make THAT bet?
  3. Of course he will - they haven't done that badly this window, just messed up a couple of transfers, they still have a team that when on form, will win. Pochettino is good at building cliques with a close knit bunch of players, so although it's fashionable to hate him, I can still see them finishing top 7 and I can see him keeping his job.
  4. I would like us to use some more old school tactics occasionally, like leaving men upfield at corners, booting the ball into row z if not sure etc etc. The amount of times, not just us, but other Prem teams should just hoof the ball into row z, but don't, is getting silly now. We see more and more errors like Lovren's because he didn't just clear it. In my opinion.
  5. Or the ... "I've got a friend who is mates with their chairman, says it's a done deal and they're really chuffed with the fee we're paying" (Obviously not true before anyone doesn't get the obvious sarcasm)
  6. This. A vile sea of replica yellow.
  7. Or Morgan last season. Was told he couldn't leave that year, but put in a good shift and earned a deserved move to the biggest club in the world. After 7 years of playing for Saints and playing consistently well for Saints, he deserved that. A proper professional.
  8. I said "these bellends", as in all players that do this and then I said "if he is doing this". Grow up and learn to read properly.
  9. This. He's a Kenyan, a greedy Kenyan, he can go get f**ked. These bellends are on £40, 50, 60, 100k a week, A WEEK and they're constantly acting like spoilt children. B*llocks to them. If he is doing this, then refuse the request, let him rot in the U21s for 2 years and ruin his career. I'm all for cutting our noses off to spite our face, just to make a stand for once.
  10. Exactly this - I think I said as much earlier on in the thread when I was annoyed last night. I'll be there, will cheer, shout, encourage, whatever, as usual - if come the end, the players have shown the same lack of dedication AFTER the match that we saw last night, it might be a different story. Although I'm not a booing type anyway, would rather just leave and go back to the pub in silence.
  11. Jesus ... you utter helmet. Please don't attend on Sunday.
  12. That's quite funny. This game has 0-0 written all over it ... will be a cracker!
  13. Another 0-0 or inept performance, maybe then. But I'll turn up to support the team from the outset on Sunday.
  14. If I hear anyone say this in person, I will hit them. How often does this come about? If we get European qualification again this season then we'll have had (another) exceptional season and/or won a cup.
  15. Okay, I'll bite. Boruc - nutjob and we have two better keepers now. Clyne - would have walked next year for free, should we have risked that, maybe yes. Shaw - 30m ... he could have gone for nothing in 2/3 years also. Morgan ... He said he wanted to go, had we kept him, we'd have had a sh*t season from him, so I think it was right to let him move on. Cork ... Just didn't want to stay to be second choice. Puncheon ... No idea, but he wanted to "go home". Lallana ... Again, could have made him stay, but we went on strike so wouldn't have played anyway. Lambert ... No one wanted to stop his move home, plus he was also on the way out anyway. So yes, great team, in hindsight, but we'd have a team mostly full of players who were p*ssed off and not trying hard enough. They'd have done f*ck all tonight as well.
  16. I've said the last two matches that he was shocking. He's been an absolute hero, no denying, but so far this season he looks like he needs time out.
  17. F*cking useless bunch of spineless c*nts.
  18. We won't take 3000. We'll take a third of that.
  19. It's bloody obvious, you don't. We can through as much money as we like at the problem, but we aren't Man Utd, Liverpool. Barca, Real Madrid etc etc. These clubs have worldwide pedigree. Not only can they pay the wages, but people still want to play for them. In the last two years, name a player we could have kept by throwing more cash at them. Lovren - Wanted to play for Liverpool (worldwide stature) Lallana - Wanted to play for Liverpool (worldwide stature) Lambert - Wanted to play for Liverpool (worldwide stature & hometown club) Shaw - Wanted to play for the biggest club in the world and we got f**k loads of cash for him Morgan - Wanted to play for the biggest club in the world and play Champions League football and we couldn't deny him Chambers - F**k knows, but we did well out of that deal to be honest Clyne - Wanted to play for Liverpool (worldwide stature) Toby - The club messed that transfer up and Spurs took advantage, so not appropriate Until we start winning trophies, European trophies and have a worldwide appeal, we'll always be little old Southampton - it's how I grew up knowing my club, it's actually what I still like about our club. I don't want a team full of money-driven mercenaries. I want more young players breaking through along with the odd Jimmy Case or Alan Ball to help them. We may keep the odd loyal one, but if making them and selling them keeps me my football club in good health, enabling me, my children and grandkids to watch for generations, then fair enough. All I ask of the club is the odd trophy occasionally with some European adventures.
  20. How do you know? You seem to know what a few of the players think, are you close?
  21. I still don't think that would have made much difference to some. The pull of playing for Man Utd is just too great, whether that's down to wages or club stature (or actually both) is up for debate, but unless you were a Southampton fan, why wouldn't you join one of the best clubs in the world? It's like being very good at your job for a medium sized company in Southampton. They pay okay, the CV is looking alright and career path not too bad. You're happy in the area but then Google's HR team come along and ask if you want to join them, on an international stage, on more money. It's a no brainer unless you don't have ambition. I think all our players have ambition else they wouldn't be here, pretty much all of them have joined for the "project" except the only first teamer who is left from the league 1 days, Fonte.
  22. 100% for. I just can't see an argument against it.
  23. No worries, I was just whinging generally about Twitter being rubbish
