Some betting site which I've now closed. No stream as far as I can see..
-
It appears to be 2-0 but no idea who scored.
-
Don't wish injuries on anyone, but a precautionary rest for Kane next week? :-)
-
Saving me a fortune in beer costs!

I know we have some ******s on our boards but mainly they're just vicious and bullying with their tongues. I do hope it's not anyone we know, and I don't just mean the PTS thread.

If there was still a radio licence I'd have to pay it, and willingly too, but I haven't got a TV licence for the simple reason that I don't have a TV and indeed have never had a colour telly (back in the 80s I had a very small B&W one). The biggest problem is disposing of the threatening letters and the additional expense of beer when I pop out to watch footie down the pub or even.. gasp.. live. I'm glad the BBC is there (imagine a world of Fox News or Berlusconi's channels), but maybe a different funding arrangement is needed that doesn't rely on Capita assuming dubious powers and victimising vulnerable people.

On the train to Paddington. Wish I'd brought an extra blood pressure pill...

In 1976 I think I stayed on a bit! In 2003 was with friends in a stretch limo and we watched Arsenal lift the cup before hitting the packed roads. [Who remembers the sign in a Saints coach "Cheer up Aresenal, you won"]. This time I'm on my own so who knows what will happen..
-
The question is, how long will it take to get away from Wembley with the transport clag? If we do win I've got to remember I'm staying with my very-aged mum...
-
If the service is as good as the marketing.. ;-)
-
Thanks for the suggestion of Harrow, guys. I'd forgotten (never realised?) how close it was and as I've a friend there who is heavily pregnant I can pop in and say hallo before getting disreputable. On the real ale, natch..

What did Anthony Pulis and Tommy Forecast retire _from_? It certainly wasn't playing football.
-
You could do the reverse bet and then not have any.. Either way, as soon as such a bet exists you're going to disappoint someone and be had up by the FA, expecially if your name isn't Barton. Perhaps a sweepstake as to how many you'll have throughout the day might be an idea?

That was my immediate first thought too. You'd think parenthood would bring a bit of maturity.

I'm arranging mine around Harvey's of Lewes, Youngs and if I'm lucky some Timothy Taylor's. Not so keen on Fullers although it's not a bad pint. Meantime brewery have some interesting ones, I believe. Any new microbreweries to try in London?

Is that a p***, s*** or er... w***? What are the pubs like?
-
Why, thankyou! :-) I must be speaking to an expert in buying women's clothes online. Do they come in an unmarked plain brown wrapper? ;-) Sorry about that, but this whole debate is a bit absurd really. Not being an expert on London pubs, or indeed the tube system, I'm going by the few places I know. But my limited experience of pubs near grounds is that sometimes you have to walk a bit to get a) a decent pint and b) served it, so I may as well take advantage of my one day travel card and start south of the river! Where I end up is another matter.. Incidentally, are there any decent pubs near Paddington?

I think it's more the 45 minute wait to be honest. I shall be on my own so not even any division of labour "your turn to queue..". I frankly couldn't give a stuff about MU fans spoiling my drinking experience! Do you think Turkish will be there? I'm tempted to wear some dungarees (not sure where I'd buy them though), wave an Italian flag as they're in town for the rugby, plus face-paint, red and white fright wig and a foam hand.

Surely rum goes better with coke, and tea for that matter? :-)

I agree about Jones but Rooney did put in a very good cross for ZI's goal in the early season match, and the media were suitably nauseating as described above.

Mine arrived Saturday, so I'd start to panic on Tuesday if..
-
Yes, but rain forecast the day before and after, so if the weather systems are slower or faster than anticipated we may get wet hurrying between hostelries..

Yesterday my team didn't have a fixture so was able to have a few (cough, cough) lunchtime pints down my social club in the village, practising for next Sunday... The bar man is a Pompey fan so we got chatting. He hates Cook, inter alia for not playing their top scorers and being generally incompetent, but he also was scathing about TCWTB (I whispered the meaning in his ear as the bar was crowded!). He wished that he and his 'window lickers' [his words] were not associated with the club. I had some sympathy with that view.. He also observed that whenever the telly interviews women in Portsmouth they always go for the ones with 'pickle stickers'... anyone heard that phrase before? :-)

My ticket arrived in the post this morning, hurrah! Off out to buy a fire-proof safe...

Good summary Whelk. As for the idea that it's somehow good he's going to put his country first, it just illustrates he hasn't the foggiest that in trade wars everybody loses out. The essence of a good buy in any market place is that both sides are happy with the deal, he seems to think only one side can win.
