  1. I think finance comes into it.. there may be three unmissable games but probably not. I could always wait for the later stages like I did last year...
  2. Didn't hear you. ;-) What did you think of Yann Valery, the young full back? Think he's only 17 but had something about him.
  3. _Gross_ receipts?
  4. That's a great piece of work and much appreciated! I love maps anyway, and how great a data layer is that?! I thought maybe of jumping in the car and getting the ferry for the low countries and northern France, but seeing the queues at Dover maybe not. Anybody got a yacht, I've an Incompetent Crew and radio ticket?.. There's no point in speculating (even though it's fun!), but Italy or Spain would be great. Ideally Roma dropping out of the Champions, but a few days round the museums of Florence or the food in Bilbao.. or...exciting, isn't it? Still, at least we've got a choice of three this time as I think I'd give £400 to Astana a miss.
  5. The opposition may not have been great in the friendly today, but you couldn't fault the finishing from Austin and Redmond. It was also good to see Hojbjerg winning and converting the penalty with a driving run although he largely played fairly deep. Nice to have Long, F&C and F&B still to come back late after the tournament.
  6. Plus some of us who want to take in the odd Europa game need to get some brownie points...
  7. Thanks for the links, guys.
  8. It's £20 for MU. Subsidised by Virgin..
  9. Tuesday 26th of July. £20. :-) Free coach travel to season ticket holders. Although I'll have to wait until Friday as I only had 1 away last season. Probably because it's Friday night but the allocation is only 2,441.
  10. I was just about to post the same request. I can't take Pamplemousse because of my blood pressure tablets, but that picture from him didn't do me pressure any good either!
  11. Reminds me of possibly apocryphal Peter Ridsdale story at Leeds. That player from Stoke (ISTR) was with his agent when offered a weekly salary so staggeringly high he looked across at his agent with raised eyebrows.. Ridsdale immediately raised the figure by another £X k a week!
  12. Perhaps my arithmetic is correct?!
  13. The rumour I saw on one of the aggregator sites on my phone (not this 'ere desktop) was Rafa Silva from Sporting Braga. The Portugal connection makes sense (2+2=5) as he was in the Euro squad alongside Jose and Cedric and he's an attacking midfielder who can play wide? Any opinions?
  14. Websurfer and ziggee, a Troll Tag Team! :-)
  15. References among the fish? Isn't 'young Jack' a bit of a tautology? Though I'm not sure when a Pike is considered fully adult.
  16. Various versions apparently.. http://www.fsf.org.uk/campaigns/safe-standing/what-does-safe-standing-look-like/ More to the point: http://www.safestandingroadshow.co.uk/the-case-for-safe-standing/case-for-3
  17. Typically in Germany where they have it you do and it permits cheaper season tickets. I've got an age where when I jump up when we score I sometimes feel cramps in my legs but haven't yet got to such an old fart stage that I can't see the advantages. Accepting that on my rare away trips I may well have to stand and it's no great shakes for me.
  18. I only saw a couple of minutes of highlights of the game but thought J-Rod was moving a lot more freely and speedily than he was at the end of last season. What impression did you get?
  19. Christ, you're stupid! :-) Sorry mush, you led with your chin. I couldn't possibly say if i agreed with you..
  20. just seen the brief highlights.. McQueen looked strong (but not a penalty - good tackle) and Rodrigues looked livelier than the end of last season. It might have been 30* but he looked to be moving freely.
  21. Amen.
  22. Perhaps they can borrow Barnet's ground, or Orient's? :-)
  23. :-) depends what you need the car for.. I'm not really practical enough but bangernomics works for many.. Might do Man U away, see various friends upt' north, do a bit of flyfishing and hit Canal Street to flirt with the butches! At least with the group stages planning is easier and you can choose as I'll probably only be able to afford 1.
  24. I was wondering where Lincoln Red Imps came from; I thought somewhere anglophone but big, like Malta..
