  1. Come on you UUUUUU's.
  2. I believe we've already seen a photo. Not sure whether a 'nervous disposition' comes in to it.
  3. Looks like he was too tall for us...
  4. ..and the electronic display panel on the bus stop was obviously designed to mislead foreign fans too, although you'd have expected them to write it in English..
  5. I couldn't possibly say here what I got up to on my 5 day trip. I live in a PO postcode and I don't want to make them jealous or hear about the visit of AC Milan to FP and the amazing atmosphere (of all of 20,803 fans!) with which we can't possibly compete..
  6. I've been away in Italy and was wondering how Portsmouth got on. Was just about to go to the BBC web site when I thought, 'silly me', and came here instead. :-)
  7. Thank god it's CB Fry's little world, where gratuitous patronising condescension and nastiness abounds. He even resorts to his mobile device whilst on holiday to post his unpleasantness. There was a strike mentioned in official announcements, including on the bus stops this morning. Being Italy the impact and extent was difficult to predict or ascertain. Anybody who had a flight to catch was wise to take it into account. The fact that there wasn't the potential impact is used by CB Fry to have a snide go at another poster in the happy knowledge that _he_ didn't have to worry about it. Does anyone have a clue as to why he is so consistently unpleasant? Even when I agree with some of his opinions it's always slanted at others. Sad really, but we'll have to suppose he's happy in his little world.
  8. Could you find one of the 'always play your strongest team' crowd and go and have a private argument somewhere?
  9. Got the morning flight out of Linate to Gatwick so avoided any potential strike. The sign on the bus stop that morning used the word 'possibile' so it might have been patchy. The flight was full and dominated by mushes/mushettes, largely in mufti. It just needed Griffo to get us all singing...
  10. Back home on my second mug of tea, tired, with a foul cold, sounding like a frog after singing with a sore throat but strangely satisfied. It's a shame about the injuries to Long and Redmond as they looked vulnerable to pace (and Long's niggling persistance), and a confident J-Rod would have scored in the first half, although his disallowed header looked good from the other end. Their goal came from nothing and a momentary lack of concentration, although I'd have to watch the replays to see where from. I'm fine with the use of the squad, we seem to have found another full-back out of it, and as we have so many games it's a necessity, even if people on here argue for playing our strongest team all the time. The injuries we've suffered highlight the need, and it should be remembered we're in 4 competitions still. Puel's comments about players not being able to maintain standards playing three times a week seem particularly apposite with Austin, and I can quite see why J-Rod was chosen as starter for this game. One day JWP will learn to finish, in the meantime perhaps we can nickname him Jigsaw as he goes to pieces in the box, but in the meantime it's great to have those free-kicks with that angled run-up which nearly took out Inter's high line, but for some poor finishing. My ticket for the home game was on the mat when I got home, I so hope we stuff them...
  11. In Turin it's overcast but pretty warm considered. Take a coat as it could rain and can get a bit chilly in the evening. I've a stinking cold so may not be the best judge ATM.
  12. I'm already in Turin and my friend bought me ticket for the opera this afternoon! Have already booked for the 9.50 fast train on Thursday so keep an eye open. Try the birrificcio Torino for a drink - had a couple there last night.
  13. Yes, more or less. Bit of extra care with the traveller types and beggars. I've always been on my own so perhaps a little more careful. Anyway, posting this on the Turin airport bus courtesy of free wi-fi. Surman, a y birrifici you'd recommend?. Italian brewpubs have really improved in the last few years.
  14. Tomorrow morning - Gatwick to Turin, staying with a friend and then train to Milan Thursday morning ( I may splash out on the fast train..). Lunch at a student's restaurant, then who knows, then back via Linate Friday. Time for bed, no more transmissions and back on 16. S
  15. I'm more Piemontais myself; do they call the buffet 'stuzzichini'? i've been offered a free lunch reasonably near Centrale (but I'll be out the station like a whippet), but after that will probably wander via Duomo, just to say hello, and then boh? I'd go to La Scala but they've got Benjamin Britten on ! I'm just going to mooch and vado spasso per la citta', and am sure it'll be interesting.
  16. Cheers. I've downloaded the ATM app but probably won't have data switched on, so a physical ticket would be my preference. I know the direction I need so will leave the station, just start walking quickly and check my map later.. Been offered a lunch at the Brasserie Bjork by the owner?/manager? who is a new Skype student of mine as of last Thursday!
  17. Cheers. Is it €4.50 for a 24 hour ticket - I seem to recall seeing that somewhere? I've been through Milano Centrale by train and arrived by airport bus but never wanted to linger! Are the zingari still a nuisance?
  18. Yep, block 212 as well. Luckily when I jumped out of bed in excitement this morning I remembered to put my dressing gown on... The San Siro site shows you the view: http://www.sansiro.net/?page_id=1711&lang=en
  19. You could have a large captive audience of queueing fans who need something to read during their wait, hope you did a decent print run! :-)
  20. Surely: You're Sofiane, you probably think this song is about you, Don't you.. etc.
  21. Haven't seen my postie this morning, and no neighbours around to even check if he's been. Normally arrives around 9, although there's always hope that he's off and somebody will deliver on overtime... (my non Alpine mode..)
  22. Well, I'm due to put on a posh frock and go to Glyndbourne on Saturday, tickets bought by friends, so hope I get home alright on the Friday.
  23. Thanks marc. The postie has been past this morning with not even a flyer for effing Dominos, so I'll be on the doorstep when he arrives tomorrow!;-)
  24. Thanks guys, I knew it would be the quickest way! I'll put up any useful information I get.
