  1. Nobody has mentioned Lingard: is it just me or did he look more than averagely c**p last night?
  2. I'm leaving Monday morning. What contingency plans have they in place?? Looks like a call is in order, anybody got a direct number to hand to save me wading through the OS?
  3. A very astute comment. Mind you, a short time after we get the laughs from people quoting their delusional utterances..
  4. It had better be. I'm leaving the following Monday, so what happens if I go before they arrive?
  5. They probably left early to get to Fratton station before Southern did their usual cancellation tricks..
  6. For the home kit I think I need new glasses. I think the turd kit has potential.
  7. Perhaps they were referring to TCWTB?
  8. Having less than a thousand in there isnn't going to help their cash-flow, what with floodlight bills to pay, St Johns Ambulance and doctor in attendance, official's fees and the like. I presume that St Johns ask for money up-front these days?
  9. Why's that? Free entry, I mean!
  10. I'm flying in to Turin on the Monday and getting a Thursday train over, but I lay you odds they'll be at least a few more. Tickets sold up to 6.5 k+ so people will be coming all sorts of ways. Can't remember if the Regionale (slower) trains have opening windows, but either way I'll put my red and white scarf at the window!
  11. Now I'm going to have to go and look at who they're playing... To save others the effort [gives a disapproving schoolmistress look at warsash.. ;-) ] Eastleigh v Maidstone Vanarama National League Skates v Reading U21 Checkatrade Trophy. Sweepstake, anyone?
  12. You haven't been here long, have you? :-)
  13. Anybody going via Linate it's best to get the standard local bus. Used to be €3 one way, but a 48 hour pass is not much more. too late to give details but I'll find the link.
  14. Going to Be'er Sheba,Wolves, and Leicester AND a Newport supporter! Right nutter. :-). See you in Milan..
  15. So why did he go to the meeting? As a poor ex-ESL summer school teacher now retired (and in the way past a systems analyst) I'd be very suspicious if somebody wanted a meeting, although it would be a rare chance for a posh meal and some expensive wine. But what did Black hope to get out of it? He's probably busier than I am and expect more out of it too. On a first meeting with anyone you don't agree to anything, although you do try to impress people with your industry inside knowledge. The club have issued an anodyne statement, but it precludes nothing: offers an employee support until the facts are clear, just as it should. When the information is clear I'm not betting on any outcome, but I bet Black has a squeaky bum at the moment, and if he's as stupid as first appears, so he should.
  16. British Isles, Middle East, you've just got to expand your horizons a bit. Anyone for laver bread?
  17. Yeah, that really gets us going. We have to walk the long way round.
  18. He got locked out of his house on Tuesday when his power failed, so maybe that's it!
  19. I've had Israeli wine before. I think it was Kosher. The other day I had a wine (from Lidl, I think) from Lebanon, which isn't too far away..
  20. Sod me, that would be even more frustrating, turning up at the stadium of Light... I forgot our luck was changing ..:-) DOH!
  21. They probably thought you wouldn't want to go to a dump as cold, as historical and as er... far away as Sunderland after your jaunts in the sun.. Bit of a comedown like.
  22. Yes, MLT! Was once in Guernsey on a sailing holiday and was chatting to a local in a pub. "Ah Le Tissier, the whole family are good at sports"..
  23. Presumably you're all at least looking for decent coordination? I had to play hockey at school and it wasn't until much, much later when I down-shifted and had more time and a local women's team that I actually started playing coached football (as opposed to random kickabouts with friends). But enthusiastic as I am I've never had great co-ordination, and although I've improved with practice and age have never been anything other than competent in any sport I've done.
