  1. Suddenly? I always thought... Ah, never mind, perhaps he's just getting old.
  2. if it's that Burnham I'm sure they used to play in the Slough and District Industrial League, or similar.. Sure it wasn't Burnham on Crouch or Burnham on Sea both of which must have a bigger population? Nah,you're probably right: it's far closer and the coach would have cost less..
  3. "Forgets" - that's a polite way of putting it: you mean dropping off in the sun after a couple of beers..
  4. Well, in 1993 there were only 80/90 girls teams in the country. I wasn't in a position to play then and didn't live near Southampton and was only kickabout in the park level, but Southampton competed at the top more or less until support was withdrawn when SFC was relegated. I remember seeing them play at Totton's old ground. I believe their reserves/youngsters are in my team's division: certainly the manager said he'd seen them play, commented on their fitness and our fitness training was notably stepped up this week! I just hope to get on the pitch at some stage this season as my knees are crocked but I can't really complain at my age. It's just good that opportunities to play are much more widespread now although you still get crap male attitudes at times. It puts some of the youngsters off and the others develop a tough skin. This season there are 30 teams in the 3 Hampshire County divisions after which you go up to the various southern region/south-western combination leagues (not sure of the exact pyramid).
  5. I'm going, although having already seen a competitive match makes it feel strange. I'm not driving like on Thursday night but training it so a few beers with friends, pick up a few bits I need in Decathlon and only a fiver for the ticket. Chance to see some of the secondary players too, plus hopefully J-Rod starting. Seems a reasonable day out to me, even if not the buzz of a competitive match.
  6. Same here. I often avoid places with lots of Saints fans.. As I like a decent pint I may go to The Bodega which seems good and well placed for the station. Look for the tall centre-back/forward type lady!
  7. More likely a ceremonial burning of the pay cheque and contract which haven't been honoured by the club..
  8. They're probably not under 15!
  9. Presumably their advanced electronic turnstiles and ticketing system will prevent the entry of any season ticket holder whose seat has been sold to someone else? #innocentquestion
  10. Chanson d'Amour, dumdedededum.. Anderlecht away..
  11. Right, so shall I drive, fly or train to Basle.! ;-)
  12. Not like Trousers to be so garulous!
  13. Looks like there were quite a number of bad guesses!
  14. Weh hey, hooked!
  15. Something else to consider: http://www.theguardian.com/travel/2015/jul/27/america-infrastructure-roadways-highways-funding
  16. Sold out and under floodlights, and because people have had to specifically buy the tickets there shouldn't be any gaps for season ticket holders who can't make the game: the place should be buzzing. It might be worthwhile getting there a few minutes earlier than usual. Early round of the Euopa, decent price and we sell out; perhaps we need a bigger ground? ;-) /ducks/
  17. There's a consultancy job for you there The9. Not a mistake you haven't seen already, and a _very_ well-documented case study to refer to. :-)
  18. LOL! I _was_ joking, but thanks for giving me an even bigger laugh! I shall be there on Thursday and taking an older lady who doesn't really get the chance to see Saints, but 15 quid and a great evening atmosphere was too good to miss. After that, with an idea of how things are panning out, I'll be back here for expert advice. :-)
  19. I'm chuckling like mad here: I read your posts The9 and then decline to reread them as my brain hurts. OK, I appreciate it's sheer laziness, but please keep us updated on likely subsequent opponents so we can all be poised over the travel websites to book the next (?!!) lot of travel tickets. Wouldn't mind Sampdoria or Fiorentina (which, for Turkish's benefit, are in Italy..). What are the odds? :-)
  20. Not bad. Bring on J Rod (for Davis?) to turn the screw a bit..
  21. Just curious, Hypo. Are you a tag team? I've noticed your support for him before... I don't post about him all the time sweetheart, only when I suspect he is taking the ****. He may be bullying, I suspect he is. You're OK with that then, or can you confirm he isn't? I can always go and check, you know?
  22. But laughing aside, if he is being as big a w@nker as he has been in the past, does anyone have any inkling of his motivation? Or is it just that he's a real saddo with a fixation about foam hands?
  23. Cheers. I'm a suspicious cow. :-) I'm taking you as a reliable witness and at least I'm having a good laugh.
  24. Turkish posting just after me. Is he confirming he's still a w@nker, or have I done him an injustice?
