You both read it? I come on here for management summaries FFS. ;-)

Hmm, I know a police sergeant who works down Portsmouth...
-
That's an interesting correlation. The bad performance of Swansea also mirrors their football team...

I've just been back to the start of the thread to reassure myself on the title. Anyway, I have to comment on the fact thats Saints are a very well documented club, had one of the first fanzines in the UK (Junk Mail), has it's own dedicated publishing house, loads of historians and now multiple statisticians. I't's been an interesting thread, latterly made me laugh, but can't help thinking that a few people have probably been eating dried mushrooms from The Common and have too much time on their hands. ;-)

Presumably Portsmouth's figures will improve? Bits of the ground will start to be closed for safety reasons, and then they'll move to Barton's Road...

Driving from the UK to Italy in August....Travel Tips Sought
suewhistle replied to trousers's topic in The Lounge
Hope you've got a decent garden shed.. In my whole holiday crossing 10+ borders the only time there was any interest or human involvement was a French plod/dogane at Le Havre. He wasn't interested in whether I had about 35 litres of wine on board and 2 litres of 95% spirit and 6 kilos of cheese! but was obviously just checking for other live contraband. -

I went down to the Alps again this winter and to avoid toll costs went Tunnel, Lille, Mons, Luxembourg (fill up), Epinal, Lausanne and Great St. Bernard Tunnel (although in summer the pass should be open). The advantage over Mt. Blanc is lower tolls (apart from the Swiss vignette), and if you use the GSB tunnel it's cheaper as no VAT and the return is valid a month (M.Blanc 1 week). On the way home I cross-countried France to Le Havre as arriving via Portsmouth means I'm virtually home. Drop down into the Aosta valley where there are plenty of camping sites for a stop - Aosta is worth a mooch - then on to Orta in a couple of hours (er.. campers/caravans a little more). -
Ah, understandable. If he were a player it would be easier to get out of..

The next one will write itself, won't it?:-)

I suspect Saints do too, the difference being in our case the cost of watching top level footie. What's therir excuse? :-)

What sort of record do you have with your dreams' accuracy? Or are they all wishful thinking... ;-) I was there when Benali scored - had a great view from the East stand - so I look forward to it into the Chapel goal tomorrow.

All time saints best XI v all time best Pompey XI

With some friends I went to see Paul Gilchrist's debut for Pompey (was it the season after the CF?). Best player on the pitch! :-) -

Is that the first time you've said that? (Absolve me, pater, quia peccavi...) -

I've just had a jolly good laugh reading this thread - better even than the Portsmouth takeover one. In spite of being an atheist I was bought up in the Methodist singing tradition and I've a suggestion for a song we can all sing at the end of the season: For all the saints who from their labours rest, Who Thee by faith before the world confess, Thy name, O [insert current hero], be forever blest, Alleluia! Alleluia! -
The nearby Lidl probably sells a few extra packets of peanuts and chocolate on match days. Southern and South Western Trains get a few extra day returns.

Police horses?! Have we ever seen them at st. Marys with crowds twice the size, or is just that The9 is a ringleader of the very dangerous Newport firm?
-
One-handed, I imagine.. The other hand will be holding a pint of beer...

Against Newport too! The9 will be rather pleased... -

That was a long second half.. -
As I was there I'd say the 31k at The Dell may have been a slight underestimate... The Mick Channon testimonial on the Monday after the cup final was meant to be a smaller crowd, but I beg to differ! Apart from not seeing much there were no problems.

Old blokes football - Tuesday night @ Fleming Park, Eastleigh
suewhistle replied to saintbletch's topic in General Sports
Gave last night a miss as I pulled a muscle in my back keeping a clean sheet on Sunday, and managed to destroy my right boot through toe-poke goal kicking and had to put on my mouldies.. Just splashed out on new soft ground boots, and as they were only £21 in a sale I reckon on popping out for a lunchtime pint or two up to my boot budget limit. Four pints in a 'spoons then.. If I come through next Sunday unscathed I'll PM you. -
drat. I've just been looking for a youtube stream as I wanted to have a look at him, but none available anyway.

Sod me, is this the only thread left open to comment on? I haven't read any of the other comments, but I've just come in from the pub via the cheap beer at the sailing club to say that is the the worst performance I've seen this season. Where to start? Did anyone have a half-decent game, let alone as a team?No wonder RK looked non-plussed.. No desire, no speed of thought, appalling passing, never kept possession, keeper indecisive, not a single 50/50 decision went our way. Buttocks!
