I'd agree with this and your point about Romeu. I've not commented or even been on the board since suffering on Sunday, and was thinking that Hughes really hasn't got much to work with when to change the game he has Long and Romeu to bring on. Chelsea had pace and power in pretty well every position as well as game changers like Hazard. We just don't, and if we are to buy I'd at least trust Hughes more than MP and our January purchase of Carillo.

Hurrah, I've managed to avoid this board until today. Had an unexpectedly boozy Saturday afternoon, checked my phone only once. Then Sunday was playing the game and Monday I was again busy. I did watch the highlights yesterday on the OS - what depressing defending in the box - but I didn't see any reason to depress myself further by coming on here. So, anything different from the usual meltdown threads? Still the same people welcoming the opportunity to be depressed and saying "I told you so" with some weird satisfaction? As I've only 3 posts can I also ask here whether our game tonight is on the box, and can Yoshida play, pretty please?

I read that article before coming to see if referenced here. I'm with Chez, I haven't noted any major discrepancies, particularly in the specific games mentioned, and as I'm in the Itchen I get a good view of the rest of the ground. In the case of Arsenal, Citeh or WH you can see swathes of empty seats in any photos/video, often in their higher tiers, but nothing like that at St. Marys. Chelsea only 24,800 and Bournemouth only 24979? I really don't think so.

We were due to be playing on the IoW on Sunday but the other side couldn't raise a team so I've nothing footie related to look forward to. The nearest thing would be cutting the grass, so perhaps I can mark out a few white lines on the lawn, or something.. Havant, my nearest side are away to Harrogate, but in any case the fans are all hostile Portsmouth supporters.

SKD, I agree with you too.There have been encouraging signs this season. As for Heisenberg; he just saps the life out of this board with his contributions. I tend to chuckle at Alpine's outbursts but Heisenberg is just profoundly tiresome.

I'd agree with this, but I'd also say that in the little bit of the Zagreb game I saw he showed that he's got great control, and he's two-footed. U23 games don't even seem like the old reserve games where at least youngsters would come up against the physicality they'd need to cope with in the first team. Let's hope he does well there, as I believe he is still a prospect, and as we know players mature at different ages.

There must be something wrong with your assessment of social situations if you thought that meeting was lapping up their explanations. Still, they must have known beforehand that the fans were not happy, and the meeting confirmed it.

There must be another cliche or two you could have managed to fit in. Our ever increasing prison population in ever more crowded and squalid prisons doesn't seem to be working very well, if re-offending rates are anything to go by. But then with the resources cut and the prisons full of people with poor education and mental health problems, rehabilitation doesn't seem much of a priority. Any training done seems to be how to improve your criminal techniques. Wasn't it Failing Grayling who suggested prisoners not be allowed books? On a more general point, I've never been to one of these things, a bit too far for me, but I've never felt the need to criticise or assume anything about the people that are going or even the questions that are going to be asked. Charlie Wayman is not alone in being one of the old women on this thread who like to twitch the curtains and comment negatively on others. Perhaps it makes them feel better, perhaps the inference he and others like him want us to draw is that they are worldly and knowledgeable and superior and not to be taken in. In truth I reckon most on here see them as the tired and tiresome t**ts they are.
